This is a great pack! I hiked the first 700 miles of the A.T. last year with it. And can confindetly say it is a solid choice for begginers. Personally, i would leave the pack cover at home, and instead line the inside with a garbage bag / nylofume pack liner.

It's definitely a mint back pack. Not that I've got a 40L pack I need 75L for longer trips

I wanted to compare these and was confused deciding amongst them:
    1. Mystery ranch terraframe 50
    2. Gregory alipinisto 50
    3. Mystery ranch Bridger 55
    4. North face terra 50
    5. Osprey Kestrel 48
    6. Any deuter pack.
Parameters I am looking at :
    Durability : i.e materials used
Accessibility : i.e need a front opening zipper for quick access
    Rain cover friendly
    Good weight distribution
Should be good in both function as well as form
And extra marks for some crazy idea like terra frame from mystery ranch has , eg extra pack space with external frame.
Main I’m looking for material because I’m getting it from US and I have just one friend who is traveling once every two year to India.
Just need your guidance , maybe a quick response as Black Friday sale may get over soon. Thanks 🙏🏻 if you can answer early :)

These are all great packs. never heard of them but love them. i searched them all up and compared them gearing towards your wants and what would be best. In my opinion. So if you are looking for best bang for the buck id personally go with Terra 55 cause it has a bigger stow on the go then osprey, you have the option for a water reservoir it has quick acess J opening zipper and awsome for that one id store rainfly in the front stow pocket at bottom. I looked through each o the deuter bags and 1 stood out amongst them all to me. the Deuter Futura Air trek 45 and 10 SL backpack. This has everything and more then the last one. it has a U shapped front opening zipper to reach each item in the pack easily without having to take anything out if fully packed unlike the terra 55. it also has amazing side zipper pockets which woul dserve the best spot for a rainfly for your bag, many straps for adding addtional items on to outside of pack. and a great suspension system for heavier loads. superior to terra 55 as well as breathabilty. and of course. the mystery ranch 3 zip. it seems to have the best suspension frame for comfort and load comfort on the back. along with the awsome carrying handle and the ability to completly open the sack. so i stood the mystery and the Deuter Futura Air trek 45 together and they had the same exact price tag at 354Cad is go with the Deuter Futura Air Trek 40 and 10 SL backpack. altho the Mystery has the open concept. it has no sort of organization due to the way the zippers open if you had something tuckked on the sides and opened up to get it. other gear would spill out on the opposing side. plus theres not many pockets, not even a stow on the go pocket. so every peice of gear would go in that once place. sure its nice but it doesnt even have waist pockets for a headlamp. it just wouldnt be organized at all. just a clump of gear lol. so out of all those picks Id go with the Deuter Air Trek 45 and 10 Sl backpack. Hopefully i was able to point out some things and ease your decision making. Update me with what you went with and how well you like it ina few months of use. Appreciate you asking that question.

1 other thing. the deuter pack i suggested is 45L so take that into consideration if your going on more then a 3 day hike or so. if more id get a bigger one like 65L but from what youve mentioned it would be a day or 2 mostly.

Ive been using a kestrel 48 for around 7 yrs now and it is definitely not for beginners its been designed for the hiker that knows what they need on the trails after a few yrs of backpacking. Nice try tho 👌

It's a great all around pack and doesn't hurt to have the options if you don't know what you want. Unless your and Ultra light back packer but most don't start out like that. I havnt had to change backpacks because this one has alot of options and I didn't have to buy an extra bag just to figure out I didn't need the hydrapack pocket or the treking pole holders along with other features

Stuffing large items into small spaces is never gonna work. The side pockets and the stuff space weren't meant to take what you're ramming into them.

    • @Vicarious-Living
      @Vicarious-Living  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

I think the side pockets are memt to handle bigger bottles and if the bottle cannot fit in the water bottle pouch if I have so much as a knife or folding saw in the side pouch while the rest of the bag is full I think there's a problem
