    For the dvd drive you can buy an adapter, that’s what I did. Also for the mobo port that says “GPU_PWR,” it’s recommended to use a an 8 pin CPU connector, as it is an EPS connector. For the GPU itself, ALWAYS use PCI-E of course.

      I've heard different things about this. Are the PCIE and CPU power connectors keyed the same? Either can be used, but 8pin (or 4 pin) CPU power is better?

    Hi, not sure if you are still checking comments for this video anymore.. but I could use some assistance hooking up my Corsair TX650M up in my alienware R7. I had thought I figured out how to hook it up originally by watching your video, but wasn't 100% sure on the GPU_PWR and CPU_PWR hookups. I need confirmation on that part - the 8 pin (4+4) is split and part goes into CPU_PWR & we should be using a PCIe cord (6+2) and splitting to use the 6 portion of it for the GPU_PWR correct? I tried this and there was no response when all was connected & turned on PC. So I returned the product because I think it was a defective unit & I got Corsair to send me a new one.

    I know the power supplies your showing off are 650 watt, but do you have any suggestions for a 850 watt? My power supply has started to occasionally make a wurring noise that is noticeably ever good so often, so I’m thinking that means it needs to be replaced. Also do certain power supplies not work with certain motherboards? I’ve heard that some don’t. My PC is an Alienware Aurora R5 with the motherboard being a 01NYPT.

    Yo! Nice video! Question: i upgraded my Aurora R7 GPU to an RTX 2070 around a year ago...the past few months i realized that when playing high GPU demanding games, my PC fans make a lot of noise and it's very annoying. I just realized the noise seems to come from the powersupply fan which sounds different from the front and top fans. I'm not sure but i'm guessing maybe the power supply is struggling to support the RTX 2070...what do you think ? Perhaps upgrading to a better power supply could solve the sound problem ?

    • @OnboardCircuit
      @OnboardCircuit  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not sure which power supply you've got in your R7, maybe is the 460W? that should be ok for RTX2070, you can still upgreading it to more powerful one NP, but from what I know the fan in the 460W PSU does not make big noise as the other cooling fans.

    • @dapigudemao
      @dapigudemao 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@OnboardCircuit hi! I've actually been looking for a solution since i saw ur video and it ended up being the power supply i needed to change. The original R7 460w supply was Indeed enough for the RTX2070 for a long time using it but the fan ended up going mental when CPU temperature was going to high so i ended up getting a new power supply and it solved the problem

      You do not need a 850 wat psu for a 2070 super over clocked or not. Dell is trying to scam you. The lowest you can go with a 2070 super is a 650 and that’s the general recommendation.

    Can I upgrade my aurora r7 to rtx 2080ti

    • @infasis
      @infasis 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Pretty sure that they ship some with the 2080ti. I'd imagine that the biggest issue would be if yours came with the smaller PSU or the 850 watt one.

      @Twinski98 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      A. Yuuki how much watts does a 2080 ti need 750?

    • @infasis
      @infasis 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Twinski98 Well, I'm pretty sure Dell, ships theirs with and 850 watt PSU, but that's more than enough. If you look under specifications on newegg or whatever site you're viewing the item on it should give you the recommended wattage for whichever card you're looking at.

    I bought a 700w gold power supply for my r7 and once I plug the cable in for the GPU power my computer does not turn on. I’m very confuse. Does anyone have an answer to this?

    If the power supply is at least 80 plus gold, then you're good to go.

    So I got the 650 and it doesn't work for my pc for some reason is it because its a 1080ti? I took it to a repair shop and they said I need a power supply with two 8 pin connections for it to work because of the 1080ti so I'm at a loss lol

      This vid is so confusing. What you need to do is to put one part of the cpu plugs into the area that says gpu above your graphics card and the other into your cpu so they share the same pci e or whatever it’s called
