    I managed to get a credit Idris in Wave 1, and i wasnt even really trying.
    I melted a couple ships to get the credit together and just thought "what the hell, lets see what happens, if I dont get it I'll just get the other ships back once their manufacturers day rolls around."
    One crashed shopping cart later, I was staring at my screen dumbfounded, as the Idris was sitting in my hangar.
    I tried and failed 5 consecutive years until I managed to get a Kraken, and now I picked up an Idris first try.
    Didnt know wether to laugh or cry.

      I have two thoughts here:
      -Rich shadowy crime boss might have a prototype Kraken
      -Next Squadron game would be set further into future
      I don't think the presence of Kraken will be predicated on official launch for sale to public date, especially when the UEE Navy did not buy any so could be slid around a bit lore wise without a heavy lift.

    The only reason I'm not melting some of my ships to get a Kraken or Idris is because once the game is in a better state and we are able to buy these in game, that's my goal to acquire one of these ships, preferably the Kraken. If I just get it outright, I kinda lose all the progression in the game for me.

      I respect that Smoke, some players prefer to the journey to get to capital ships and earning them. And as Kreathyr mentioned, it will be a big UEC in-game money pickup and I'll add reputation gate to earn the right to buy one, but will say it will not be impossible for dedicated players. Best of luck in your Journey in the verse man.

      @@kreathyr8270 why?

    • @gromdan1332
      @gromdan1332 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@FindtheShrooms I'm just going to say right from the start that this is my guess for how much these big capships would be at launch and therefore should be taken with a grain of salt. All the ships that we can buy in game right now are heavily discounted, they are not indicative of their final UEC price when/if the game hits 1.0. I also heard from inforunners that the price increase is not uniform for all ships but rather is larger depending on the ship size for example while the mustang alpha will probably remain at its current price or only slightly more expensive when/if we hit 1.0, the prospector might be 2x to 3x more expensive, the carrack might be 4x to 6x more expensive and the 890J might be 6x to 8x more expensive. With that said the current inggame aUEC pricing for the Idris and Kraken are not known but considering that they are both about 25% bigger than the 890 and also have far more capability than the 890. We can then draw parallels with the 600i and carrack because both ships are vaguely similar. the carrack has way more functionality than the 600i. The carrack is also around 25% larger than the 600i. The 600i is 9.5 million aUEC while the carrack is 26.7 million aUEC. if we apply that to the 890J in comparison to the Idris P then a speculative in game Idris P price for patch 3.21.1 would be 32 million aUEC(price of 890) multiplied by 2.8 = 121 million aUEC. Then when/if the game hits 1.0 we then multiply that by a speculative 6-8 times more for a price range of 729 million UEC - 968 million UEC. the Kraken of course would be more than that. Considering that CIG looks as if they want players who play optimally to earn around 500k aUEC per hour based on the different gameplay loops and the nerfs and buffs we've had through the years assuming one is willing to play 8 hours a day 365 days a year. Using this admittedly pure guesstimate of what the price for the Idris would be one would have to play somewhere in between 200 days to 250 days to earn one using a min maxed optimal gameplay loop for 8 hours a day.

    So here is something you might of didn't know. If you buy a vehicle and melt it into you buy backs it's price is permanent. For example I have a Constellation Taurus in my buy backs right now. I bought it before it was released at $150. After it's released it sales at $190. I can still buy it back at the pre released price. Another tip on how I got my Javelin, Idris-P, Kraken, and Kraken Privateer is I typed in the name before they went on sale. Then refresh the page seconds before they went on sale. The search bar doesn't empty and the ship pops right into view. Saving time to buy. Another thing I did have the same question about price changes for the Idris after release and used my Concierge chat to ask them directly about it. They informed me after the released of the Idris for now they don't see a price change coming. That the Idris-M is staying at $1000 and the Idris-P is staying at $1300.

    • @RedJay
      @RedJay  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      For ships in buyback at any point CIG could roll out the same change they did for CCUs and suddenly the safe value lock in is gone. In particular the risk is greatest for non-Warbond credit purchased then melted ships... but yes it is another holding tool to lock in the ship. I myself have a few capital ships in buyback as well to move pieces around. Yes this is all just possibilities but with such a large purchase consistency is really desirable. On the Idris-M price, there is no planet it would remain at its 1,000 USD value if it was offered in limited sale. It would cut at the knees Idris-P and K-Kit sales. Price points around the Krakens would be likely. Search tip on store is a good one!

    • @redraptor418
      @redraptor418 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @RedJay ya, I do predict that if the Idris-M goes on sale, it will be in an event, and it might be the same or higher price as the Idris-P. Like they did for the F8C Lightning Golden ticket event. Also, I predict that they will hand out custom skins for the original sold Idris-M owners.

      @RedJay It would be the perfect way to hype the release of Squadron 42 (S42) release date. Think about it for a second. They gave us the F8C Lightning Golden Ticket Event just before announcing the development complete of S42. What other ships do we know of that are featured based in S42? The Bangel Carrier, Idris-M, and Javelin just to list a few. We know that the Bangels are going to be wrecked ship we have to repair to own. The Javelin is the same version that is up to buy, tho limited hulls. Which leaves the one ship that was sold at one point like the F8.

    For the interior part, the idris is actually completed, hanger, main deck, argo hanger, even the medical bay is all completed (people can enter the ship via airlock and clip through in atmo/890). Only reason why the hanger/bridge is empty is not to spoil it too much. The javelin on the other hand is not really completed its like 40% completed as still needs to work on the hanger, bridge, lower part cargo, torp bay, and argo lift, etc.

      @@RedJay Agreed. In the concierge chat another dev was making comments about being excited for modularity to get into the game. They mentioned that once it becomes a thing they wanted to see if they could change up some other ships as well such as possibly swapping out the pool area of the 890 for a casino or something. Not that it is an assured thing but something they were contemplating. But otherwise yeah, info related to the capitals seems to just have to be pieced together over time.

      I have long pushed for an 825a with a rack of PDS turrets banking reworked hangar doors (instead of a hangar its a defensive platform), uptiered turrets, and the whole interior turned into CIC and administrative military command areas. I can dream too haha. Others have suggested making it into a small hospital. Casino module for 890 much more likely though haha. @@Light-hawk

    • @Light-hawk
      @Light-hawk ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@RedJay That 825a concept would be interesting but I think the Polaris is about as close as we will get to that. I could see a hospital variant though as Origin has that very sterile clean aesthetic. Regardless of what happens though the 890 definitely needs a rework at some point. Newer ships are showing lots of small minute details that the 890 lacks (light switches for example) making it show its age more and more each year.

    • @RedJay
      @RedJay  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Polaris has the light armor and "primary that S10 Torp chucker" problem. So it is more of a run and gunner on the battlefield swooping in and throwing a volley or two and exiting then coming back from another direction or chasing enemy who leave the field damaged then a stand on the field as a Combat Information Center ship. But yes I get it, 800 series will likely only be the "touring" module so to speak of the 890J which exists which is a shame. 890J was used in our Org and still is on occasion as a Cap ship trainer and the crew deck is a fantastic logistics and even combat deck, but yes in an aging platform and certainly will be quickly outdated without some love.@@Light-hawk

    The big thing with the capital ships is that there should be a degree of marvel and mystique to having a real capship like a Kraken, Idris, or Javelin, and we need to have SC avoid the problem that EVE Online has, where the rarest ships in the galaxy, Titans, are trivial for anyone to own if you're just a dedicated grinder with access to the right area of space, you can get the money with just a few weeks of work. They should be obtainable, but frankly...there should be a limit. I just...don't know how to implement one that is fair, but also satisfactorily limits their number. I hope Idris hulls cost a huge amount ingame with UEC, just to limit them as much as possible, without putting a fixed number of them ingame.

    • @RedJay
      @RedJay  ปีที่แล้ว

      In EVE another point to make with Supers, in particular Titans, was that you may own own logged off at a safe POS but to actually move it you needed a huge Alliance supporting it with a support fleet, eyes, spies, fueling support, POS deathstar network maintained (prior to dockable Supers)... it was not a simple feat for one person with an army of alts. In SC I think the multi-crew and fleet aspects will hard cap solo players and also the scale is bigger on these ships a Jav is a home for many players and NPCs (or at least one of a few homes for those players).

    I picked up my Idris P on my phone last ILW. About five minutes before the sale I remembered the whole thing was happening. I waited a few minutes and refreshed the store page once. Sure enough both store credit and warbond options were there and available for purchase. I went with the warbond.

    • @RedJay
      @RedJay  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Warbond is still a good feat to pull off and no less on a phone. In later waves in most cases you have a couple minutes... and in warbond cases you can have even longer on last wave of event. Credit is a beast and especially early waves can dishearten everyone trying if they don't use the cart come back if fails method... but yes most events just being on ready will succeed. Glad it worked out for you Reclaimer at ILW!

    somehow I think the idris-p and the kraken takes a lot more people to crew than even the javelin, due to the fighters and utility craft. I wonder how often people going to take out those big ships. I mean for javelin and kraken, you can do cargo trading, and javelin have 6 modules. kraken you also have the privateer.
    but for idris. 1000 scu of cargo is not too profitable. maybe exploration gameplay, which is a over kill. bounty hunting, which is also a over kill. I really dont think idris is all that practical to use in game,
    for something like the polaris, I think that is at a much better place for exploration, bounty hunting, it's much more practical to use

    • @RedJay
      @RedJay  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Idris Series shines at combat logistics. The Idris has a large ramp off the backdoors of the ship allowing for a large amount of vehicles to roll out into a fight and has the VTOL capabilities and Capital shields, armor, and brace of turrets/PDS/Missile Batteries to keep enemy heads down. For Offense it even has a S10 weapon platform to break enemy ships coming in or soften up fortifications (but of course needs to be tested, like for example a S10 Railgun likely one shots a Nova tank or Ballista but buildings are designed to not take damage by one as that would be overpowered etc etc.) Idris is a monster, as is Kraken is for combat logistics with flight ops.

      @@RedJay I hope that idris's hanger works the same as C2 cargo bay, where it can also be used for cargo transport. that will bring so much more economic power to the idris. I actually have the armada pack in buy back(I think it is the cheapest pack that included an idris-p), Im very torn between getting my Idris back or keeping my kraken-p. I kind of judge all the ships based on its ability to make credit. (did a bunch of grinding in elite dangerous, Im skipping it this time, also the insurance for large ships are pretty high, that's why I think elite player want LTI).
      I bet a lot of player doesnt want the grind and does not want to pay tax for cap ships. I think when the rsi day comes. everyone and their mom will have a polaris. cant even imagine xenothreat after the polaris releases.

      Im pretty sure the F8C lighting gold ticket is a testing bed for the nav beacon of the privateer shop. did you see the pad ramming. that was insane. on the other hand the BMM does not use nav beacon and it have no pads. with make it a little safer to run I guess.

      Congrats on the fleet, honestly I have only ever had trouble on credit verison of the standard Kraken, Javelin, and Idris-P with the usual get it in cart in first wave and try to buy but actually finish up to succeed in subsequent Waves. Only tool I recommend is using a World Clock website to gurantee you get the right second to start reloading page with F5 and that does the job. Warbonds always are available, and Kraken Privateer credits are easy in subsequent waves too.
      Idris this particular event had incredible pressure (and Jav as well to a lesser extent) on their credit verisons due to Squadron 42 demand and, in my opinion, the widespread rumor that there will be a price hike with SQ42/Idris Flyable (which has not ever been suggested by CIG... but I get the rumor).

    Pledges are supposed to be about supporting the game, thats the excuse they use to price ships at ridiculous prices. Its seen as if people want to support more with more money we'll give them bigger stuff in return. Yet by making them time and quantity limited its clear theyre treating them as regular sales items. Its not about pledging anymore, they actually pricing these digital items that high to sell them. Artifically creating a demand to create more sales. Its scummy. And why ships are the most bitter sweet thing about the game. I hope all of you who buy these high costing ships have the game ultimately ruined for yourselves on release.

      I agree there should not be F5 Wars anymore, there is no need as these ships are not all powerful as originally seen and only so many backers can justify the purchase anyway. It would be better to just move capital ships into sale rotation. Disagree on the point that game is ruined for you upon having a cap ship, I spent many hours in EVE pulling everything from carriers/dreads around all the way up through Titans for bridge work and if anything I felt at home in them and the game started for me with cap ships of that makes sense. Can you go golfing without fancy clubs? Sure! I use a mix of a garge sale set that fit me great and a clearence bag and some wedges... but I get those who want to invest in their hobby to be happy. With ships though especially of this size (ignoring price) I encourage backers to talk with Orgmates and friends in same timezone they often fly with to figure out what they really need and not end up with 7 Idris or Polaris and no support ships or industrial backbone etc.

      @RedJay I mean not even just because of the price. Which is also expensive when we can just get in game but because they are sold out within seconds which forces me to believe that they're being bought out with bots and sold on 3rd party cites. I'd much rather buy ships like the hull e, crucible, etc. Then use the profits from those ships to buy and Idris, javelin or any other ship that are almost impossible to get your hands on.

      @@wcagee101 I agree with you on the bots part. Althought some people (like me) planned this ahead for a long time and were really invested into buying this ship. I was one of the lucky few that were able to get their hands on the credited version. Warbond stayed on for more than 20 minutes. I will never sell it or exchange it because this is what I want for my organization in the future.

    60 seconds???? You wish! I was in final payment screen in 3 seconds and it was gone. All 3 waves it was sold out in like 3 seconds. Where did you get the 60 seconds from?? I had it in my cart for wave 2 and 3. Was done with everything in 2 or 3 seconds, still it was sold out!

      Congrats on the pickup Dream! You can see in the clip I had a view of Wave 2 from the Add Ons section showing stock indications. Sorry to hear it did not work out Malbino, ILW is next opportunity.

      Sounds like network latency.
