I'm actually very impressed with the developer of this game. I'm not the best or most organized player so the fact I can tailor most settings to get the most enjoyment and not make the game seem like a job, tickles me pink. He responds extremely well to suggestions to make the game better. Heck, I even enjoy the physics of the vehicles and will spend time just mowing down vamps in it. Kudos to him for a fine product.
Pumpkins are useful for feeding your barn inhabitants. I always place in a workbench as well as a food prep table in the town hall, so you can easily make biofuel from any spoiled food that accumulates in the NPC chests. The stone grinders are the natural choice to go along with cement mixers, with the clay extractors not being too far away, either. It just speeds up the process to have everything to hand, then. The brick drying crates being close by wouldn't hurt, either. It's all clay and sand, after all.
Crossbow is worth another look, it’s a one shot kill to the head and 2-3 at most body shots, can usually kill them before they even get to you. Only downfall is there are no tranq bolts so you’ll need to use the bow until you get the farm filled up
Forge, grinder, and cement mixers are all items that work together. The crossbow has had a big improvement several updates ago it's definitely worth it.
Once you have a greenhouse full of plant beds established you’re going to have more food than you and Mike could ever eat and you won’t be concerned about what he eats. Plant everything, not just pumpkins. And hunt for meat and dry it, it lasts a long time. Potatoes for protein is not the way to go. You’ll need potatoes for other things once you can make more advanced foods.
I wouldn't make cement mixers your main source of money. (1) It's heavy. (2) It takes forever. (3) It uses a lot of power. You could just make a ton of fishing lures. (1) They're way lighter. (2) They don't cost power. (3) You only need one stick, one feather, and five iron frags. [Con(s)]: You'll need to ramp up your iron production, especially if you're having trouble with iron now. But iron is the easiest metal to get.
I love this. CTRL+R click takes all the stones from the crates, works only for stones. I have crafting table and food prep table in the hall in the middle back to back. For making bio oil.
You should put a work bench in the food storage building as well as the food prep table. Then you can grab the spoiled food and make biofuel quickly and easily. I usually put 5 cement mixers in an arc so I can stand in the middle and use them without moving from one spot. They put the seeds in the oven to roast them right before the apocalypse happened. I grew up on the east coast, in MA, and I've never heard Mario pronounced as Merry oh. Must be another Jersey thing. The lyric in The Farmer in the Dell is Hi-ho the derry oh, not merry oh. According to the inter-webs, Derry is an anglicized version of the Gaelic word Doire, which means an oak grove.
I made 2 oil extractors. Takes some power, I mine oilshale and the oilcans stack by 100. Sold a lot. And I make some gas cans, just in winter to have some extra work around the base.
Put the pumpkin crates by the barn when you build it and use pumpkins to feed the animals. When you do your farm plots remember when Mike harvests onions you get 2 per plot rather than 1 if you do it yourself
Pumpkins are good for feeding the Animals in the Barn, and are used in some recipe's. Wouldn't Stone Grinders go well with the Cement Mixers? That's how I sort it out because you get the Sand from the Grinders to use in the Cement Mixers. You still need oil for the Gas, and Circular saw, plus it is an easy commodity to sell in stacks of 100.
Kage, I suggest that you make the crossbow and try a headshot once, I think that you’ll change your mind same way you did with the shield. Also about the truck, don’t forget it’s not just that you’ll never run out of storage again, it’s also much faster than the bike and as a bonus you can run over enemies and kill them without any problems lol. Great vid as always!
Tip: you can build extractors indoors. When placing foundations hold x and lower it one level. Then double walls around them and a roof. Also works over water. Indoor fishing hole. Dont have to worry about freezing or sun exposure when youre working indoors. Mind blown?
Hope that update goes live, he keeps eating the older veggies before they spoil. So I have to go in there and take them before he does. We need it NOW! Lol, and I know what you're going to craft tomorrow. Because I crafted it today and know how much stuff you need. It's cool but it's kind of crappy. It' needs some love by the devs, for sure.
25:25 that song goes hi ho the dairy-o (the farmer in the dell) And I grew up saying super mario brothers and not maryo brothers. Some people on here pronounce it bros because it's abbreviated to bros with a period at the end on the label but it is actually pronounced brothers
As for pumpkins it depends on if you want to make potato pie or not. I would cut down on them and only have 1 crate full. ADD: Oil you can make gas for generators and also for plastic.
Well, if you want something more than just cement mixers, how about making something akin to a manufacture center? I mean, build mixers, smelters, workbenches and whatever else comes out to manufacture anything. Someting big enough to build both those units plus storage units. And of course, with a garage next door for all your venicles and thus easy loading/transportation maneuvers.
Omg i hope this testbranch get on the live version. That was always something that was bugging me, when Mike just throw my vegtables in every chest. Like it organized
Food on loot runs is soooo abundant, I eat everything. There is zero downside to eating everything, and with the correct strat, allows my character to game for days without sleeping.
You can craft plastic but the other stuff needs to be looted. But there is alot out there in the loot and even more with the Loot Raider Perk. I think its better this way tbh
I'd say your wife is right about the Super Mario pronounciation but this surely still depends on where you are saying what - sometimes you have to adapt your language/slang/dialect to the region you're in if you want ppl to listen to you. ;)

We need that update pushed through! Seriously, being able to have an organized town hall is HUGE! Can't wait.
Please give Mike something else to eat than just potatoes 😂 That's just cruel 😂 Loving the series!
It’s awesome that the developer is taking your feedback and working on the things you propose.

Should put baking in this game so you can the pumpkin and put more fruit like apple that good idea
Anything smelting related for the forge room

drink every time Kage says he has over 700 hours in this game... andddddd. GO!!
I have been binge watching this series and doing this would make me drunk as hell.
I made 2 oil extractors. Takes some power, I mine oilshale and the oilcans stack by 100. Sold a lot. And I make some gas cans, just in winter to have some extra work around the base.
Hi Kage, That is a really great update if it works out on the test branch! Thanks for the great episode! Looking forward to the next! Woot ~John
Put the pumpkin crates by the barn when you build it and use pumpkins to feed the animals. When you do your farm plots remember when Mike harvests onions you get 2 per plot rather than 1 if you do it yourself
You can craft plastic - 3 oil cans and 5 bark chips, at the chem table.
Getting Mike to separate the veggies is an awesome update glad you showed us, Thanks@Kage848 and Thanks to the Dev

Kage, I think stone grinders would go well in your cement mixer room both thematically and efficiently as they are your primary source of sand.

0:38 HELL YEA!!! This is great❤❤❤
Wow! nice Kage! great update! Hope it works.

Oil stacks in 100s. Great to build up to sell to vendors
You should be in the credits of the game as a consultant. 😂

Love watching you play. I think this dev is genius, it's a solo developer?
Food on loot runs is soooo abundant, I eat everything. There is zero downside to eating everything, and with the correct strat, allows my character to game for days without sleeping.
Ask the dev to let us build solar panels and Windmills on the NPC buildings and barn please
Good update I cant wait to get it.
Make sure you never head out to adventure without loot raider coverage, it puts more fun in your run
Put it in the powerhouse transfer all your crushing and or into there that’s powered I guess
Oil is good for selling its free money xD
I use pumpkins for the barn.
Mary O. 👍
You can feed the animals the pumpkins, so keep them farmed.
I wish you could turn the iron fragments into iron ore. it would make Steel easier.
you can put melon crates anywhere. Want to make Mike walk upstairs and fill a bedside crate he will. no need to waste town hall space on them
Kage the crossbow is painfully slow reloading. You can literally get 3 shots off with the regular bow.
You just admited that you are going to make oil pump by saying how many eletric and mechanical parts you need plus you need to concentrate on iron😄
Hehehehe .... you snitching on Kage???? 🤣🤣
@@zuske4u419 Not realy, in previous videos he allready mentioned that he want it so its easy to realize what needs lot of resources and energy
Hehe... was just joking... All of us following him for a long time have a pretty good idea what is coming.
Was suppposed to be a "Hint" lol
HUGE!
Its 'Mario' - like Cardio. My dad's name is Mario.
You still have establishments in the deep south. Which I don't you've been down there yet.
Why did the dev take the ability to craft plastic and electronics out of the game? Force people to explore more?
Bingo
since when cant u craft mechanical, electrical parts and plastic? when was this removed?
You can craft plastic but the other stuff needs to be looted. But there is alot out there in the loot and even more with the Loot Raider Perk. I think its better this way tbh
A Litle bit less looting
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Dude doesn't want pumpkin bread and pumpkin pie what the hell bro
Mary-o is just wrong on so many levels.
OMW!!!! ... literally tiptoeing around with excitement.... REALLY REALLY developer.... those MPC box organizers MUST please please please be released.
No way bro is a TH-camr and still has a flip phone
when is this update going to come in game, ??
damn i was the 667th like.. fail
@Kage848 u can unlimitedly branch off a junction box u dont need one for each item lol
Yes I do. I want the ability to turn anything off at any time
I'd say your wife is right about the Super Mario pronounciation but this surely still depends on where you are saying what - sometimes you have to adapt your language/slang/dialect to the region you're in if you want ppl to listen to you. ;)
