@@siddhartsharma9872 you seem like a kid who just passed out of high school and hardly ever read a book. A country like which has at least 30% of it's population around poverty line we can't straight forwardly implement either capitalism or communist template. That's why India joined the non-aligned movement. We need a balance of both to control all extremes. And farmers which have been exploited since independence they need something like government or judiciary to protect their rights, putting them in front of corporates is like putting them in front of vultures.

We have been told it helps the farmers the most and also boosts the economy.

Don't know what to say. Thanks to this channel for enlightening me. Procuring weapons may be important for a country like India but, this is a way more serious problem for the country. But as it is not a direct problem for urban people and the cultural and social gap that our society is nurturing between urban and rural societies, will only increase the problem. Farmers will suffer and Govt will ignore and urban class will not question... And then some Multinational will see this problem and will try to make profit from manipulating the situation, and we will be fooled again by these companies and so on and forth.
I know my depressing words do not help, this has been going on... When I have no power to do anything, at least my negativity can serve not to forget what our governments, leaders, MNCs and 'First World Countries' have been doing to us.
    Thank you once again.

I am an agriculturist.. I feel very sad watching farmers spraying lots of chemicals and fertilizers juz to increase the yield. Now everyone is exposed to hazardous chemicals.
When a chemical is sprayed on the plant, the plant absorbs it and transports to every corner top to bottom. And then, the produce obtained is eaten by us. This is so disheartening. I sometimes feel green revolution has pissed humans lives.
It is not farmers fault... It is our two faced government , that says stop using chemicals and gives permission to chemical industries.
I wish depending on green revolution ends.

Green Revolution happened in the 1960s was the dichotomy of success and failures in the life of farmers. India at that time was deficit in food grain production & was relying on other nations like the USA to meet the domestic demand.
So these solutions were focused on short production rise, disregarding its long-term socio-economic impact in society. Since the 1960s, the political turbulence has had a really adverse impact on the Indian economy overall.
We need a new holistic approach for the agriculture sector in India. Modernization, Organic Farming, Fewer People employed, Maximum Yield YoY, etc.
