So is there a trick for going layer 3? Or with a domain name? My OBS is in my office, and I want to stream a camera that is available with a domain name on a public IP at a remote location. I do not seem to find any info on it. If I create a tunnel, it works like layer 2 would, but thats not doable for every site. Otherwise this video was real helpful, and Tyler does a good job!
I'm having the same issue with a remote IP camera that I want to stream live, but I can't find anything that doesn't need a computer left working 24/7 where the camera is.
I've got a recording studio where I record music and my band rehearses. I've thought about getting security cameras for the studio, and the house in general. So I have thought about getting cameras that saves to a cloud and I can access them at anytime either from my computer and phone. I don't really like leaving my computer on if I'm not using it. So one that is wifi capable to say to a cloud is what I was thinking of going for. My brother has a security camera set like that, that he can check from his phone or tv. So I'm assuming that if I get a wifi capable cloud security setup, they probably have a website or something that I can log into to view the live stream from my computer? Then use OBS to stream the website? The reason I explained all of that is because my band likes to live stream our rehearsals. If we didn't do that, I'd just go with a set of wifi capable cameras and not worry about it.

Most cameras nowadays come with their own Software & app. You can certainly use that instead of the streaming method we used in this video. This video is mainly directed towards anyone that wants to livestream their cameras to the public or groups of people via youtube, facebook, twitch, etc.
Have any solution for streaming 24/7? I have a cam set up at my oceanfront condo of the beach, but after a day or two it usually crashes and I have to reboot every few days. Thanks for the video! Question from a rookie before I buy a camera. Do I need my computer to stay on to stream to TH-cam constantly, when using an IP camera?
Good question! There may be a way to do it without a PC, but for our purposes here, we recommend having a local PC running OBS to pull the RTSP Streams of the cameras.

is your ip camera is connected to NVR or directly to router via POE switch ? I am asking for the case in which you are using rtsp address for streaming.
In this video, the camera is on a separate switch on the network. You can do this still as well if the camera is on an NVR, you'll just need your NVR's RTSP URL instead with the specified NVR Channel in it.
