I'm a life member whose money now goes to GOA or FPC. I won't even do the round up with MidwayUSA any longer.

i'm a lfe member of the NRA and don't plan on revoking my membership. However, I haven't sent the NRA money for a long time. I"m not inclined to support LaPierre's lavish lifestyle. I know he's gone but with a golden parachute and his cronies took over. So why bother? I"m even NRA certified firearms instructor.and it's worth very little. I get the magazine once a month and it's hardly worth the trip to the mailbox.

You can check the 990 tax records for non-profit organizations. They will show that the NRA does the heavy lifting for gun rights. The GOA is not much more than an angry news letter.

Also a life member of both NRA, GOA and Second Amendment It is sad that money can be such a corrupting influence. Wayne and his pack of cronies should have to pay back all the money they took. GOA and others are picking up the legal battles. A strong NRA would be nice, but we don’t have that.
Now a NRA meeting with half empty isles sounds nice as a consumer.

I was an NRA member until Wayne La Pierre's incessant membership renewal mailings angered me into quitting. They lost 25 years of my annual dues because of him. I recently rejoined only because the Beloit Rifle Club requires NRA membership as a condition of club membership. I'm back to loathing the NRA's extremely annoying and still too frequent membership renewal mailings, and no - offers of cheap Chinese junk for early renewals won't tempt me to renew before the last minute.

What I know that ever since I opened my gun shop in New Mexico, and long before, the NRA rep, Tara Mica, has been fighting the Democrat machine to protect our rights here in New Mexico. I've been there to watch her leadership and the respect she has from the opposition, and fear of some of them. I've worked with her in Santa Fe and she's truly awesome.

I’m actually happy to say that I WAS a life member. With all their shenanigans I contacted them several years ago and told them to remove my name from their membership. A few weeks ago I got a membership flyer wanting me to re-join. I pondered it for a minute but file-13ed it.
And no, I will not support any of the NRA “round-ups” and will no longer shoot a competition that requires an NRA membership.

I can't think of a new gun law that the NRA has opposed or led the charge on fighting since at least Sandy Hook. I'm now supporting the GOA and SAF -- those two fight for the 2A as if they want to decisively bolster our rights so completely that they (as organizations) are no longer needed. The NRA always seemed ready to compromise enough to maintain a threat to the 2A so they would have a reason to beg membership for money and membership dues to keep their gravy train rolling. I've often wondered if the NRA was using the bulk of their budget to maintain adequate stock levels in their warehouse of disposable gold plated toilets for NRA leadership's exclusive use (or whatever they were doing, instead of fighting for the 2A).

    • @sixgunsymphony7408

You can't think of what NRA has done for gun rights because you don't pay attention.
Look at the 990 tax forms for non-profit organizations. It is public information, you can look up those records online. If you do you will find out that the NRA does the heavy lifting for gun rights.
If the NRA was like Coca-Cola, the other groups are like a children's lemonade stand.

I quit on the NRA years ago when they started with the LaPierre money grab machine. He single-handedly took a respected, prestigious organization and made it into a personal bank account as well as a landing field for cronies, yes men, and relatives of friends and relatives. The whole lot of them should be in prison.

When this whole NRA scandal began my membership to NRA was paid through this September. I immediately stopped contributing and stopped renewing my membership. I thought I would renew after this election, but the Good 'ol Boys decided it for me. I am done with NRA for good, unless the New York courts intervene and get rid of the old guard. Then I may consider rejoining depending on who is appointed to run the show. Since the beginning of the fiasco all my funds and loyalty has been transferred to 2A Foundation and RTKBA.

I’m a life member of NRA and many other 2A organizations. Am I disappointed in NRA? Yes. Am I going to stop supporting them? No. I think they can still turn things around. Just in the last week they filed two lawsuits. Plus, no other organization makes the gun grabbers cry as much as NRA does. Other 2A organizations are efficient but at the same time they don’t get as much heat from gun grabbers as NRA does. I really hope they get their affairs in order and start a new chapter of their advocacy.
