I think a lot of what makes Oregon a top 10 team is their ability to adjust and then take over. They have repeatedly been doing that. Starting slow just isn't a problem for them.
Yes also great coaching, more physical, better O-line play and our defense is finally starting to match the high powered explosive offense they have been famous for, for years!

"Slovis! Slovis. Slovis..." The announcers were praising him the first couple minutes of the game like crazy. Once the Ducks exposed him they just started getting quiet. Instead of praising the Ducks defense they just kept saying "Well Slovis is only 18"...
This game was weird. I think the penalties threw the commentators off their game cuz it was messy and killed a lot of momentum. Its almost like Gus was holding back in case the refs were gonna throw another flag. Definitley not Gus Johnson's night.

You're right the fumble was his fault. He should've just went down and that's something he'll learn. But two of his INTs ricocheting off the WR's hands and one completely falling down isn't the fault of the QB. The pick six was on him but the other two I'm not about to blame him for. USC was overmatched but Slovis showed a lot of promise for a true frosh. His TD throw to Pittman threaded between 3 defenders was probably the best throw of the entire game on both sides.
Check out the block by Shough on the SC DB on the last play of the game. Little payback for those late/low hits on Herbert. A few Oregon players went right to him after and let him know what they thought.
Incredible turn around in the 2nd quarter, great game Ducks! And congrats to backup QB Tyler Shough also getting a TD! Can't wait to see him as our starter next year. :)

He needs to be benched at least for now if anything and they need their QB coaches to go back to the drawing board with him and work him up and into the area that he needs to be and feels most comfortable with before just throwing him into the fire again. He is clearly not comfortable, isn't performing at the level he needs to be and as of now,it just isn't working and this game is the result of it all.
Not really the 1st half USC dominated them. Then in the 2nd refs made a bad call and them it was just a running game and the USC defense was exhausted after 2 hour 1st half.

This yet another classic reason why Helton has no business coaching a major program. This defense utterly quit in the fourth quarter - for most of the second half, but it gets ridiculous in the 4th. Also, a couple times inside the 10 Slovis had a ridiculous amount of time to throw into the end zone - the receivers were mostly standing around - you should have a decent play called to take advantage of all that time. Helton signature loss here.
Our back up qb laying the wood on the last play so good. Not sure why Cristobal wasn't resting players with 7 minutes left in game a huge lead and a path to the playoffs. Saw lanning do this same puzzling thing last year with nix on occasion. This is poor coaching and hurting your post season changes and wondering if it's intentional.

I've been to a billion games in my lifetime and my dad always taught me to NEVER leave a game early because you'll always end up missing something. On Saturday, when SC punted from the Oregon 40 with 10 minutes left on 4th and 4, I couldn't take it. I left early for the first time ever. That was the most cowardly job of quitting I have ever seen. It was disgraceful. For a team who has been able to get all of the top recruits since the beginning of time, this is unacceptable. USC outplayed them in the 1st half. Then the guy tackles the receiver and they get an intereception. But this qb slovis needs to get the ball in the endzone when he has chance. 2:24 unlucky pat. 3:15 was obvious forward pass fumble. Play it again and USC could win. The problem is USC defense has no stamina.

I've been to a billion games in my lifetime and my dad always taught me to NEVER leave a game early because you'll always end up missing something. On Saturday, when SC punted from the Oregon 40 with 10 minutes left on 4th and 4, I couldn't take it. I left early for the first time ever. That was the most cowardly job of quitting I have ever seen. It was disgraceful. For a team who has been able to get all of the top recruits since the beginning of time, this is unacceptable.

USC outplayed them in the 1st half. Then the guy tackles the receiver and they get an intereception. But this qb slovis needs to get the ball in the endzone when he has chance. 2:24 unlucky pat. 3:15 was obvious forward pass fumble. Play it again and USC could win. The problem is USC defense has no stamina.
