Robbie Johnston don't get me wrong...Verdell is one of my favorite Oregon RBs of all time. He gives everything he's got on every play. If he could improve his ability to read his blocks he'd be unreal! He runs so hard he doesn't give himself a chance to see the holes!

They're good, but they laid an egg. It's for the best because Ohio State, LSU, Clemson, and Georgia all have the potential to humiliate them. The PAC 12 is the only conference that has consistently had Playoff hopefuls only to lose them in games like this.
to all those Utah fans out there - i know this is a tough loss. and Utah really was in a great position to make the CFP(so was Oregon a few weeks ago). But TBH(as a duck fan) i don't think either team would have had a great showing in the playoff against a team like LSU, tOSU, or Georgia(maybe, just maybe against Clemson would either blockU or UO had a chance). But there is nothing to be ashamed about as far as either the Ducks(who should be proud to be pac12 champs&rose bowl bound) or the Utes(who i think deserve a bid to the Cotton Bowl rather then the Alamo because they're a New Years Day quality team.Utah vs Memphis would be a great matchup). I know it stings Ute fans, but you really did have a great season. And lets be real: until the committee stops rewarding conferences(SEC) with 2 spots in the playoff when they play teams like Samford, Western Carolina, and Northwestern State late in the season - the Pac12 will always be left at a disadvantage.
The possible Utah v Memphis game.... I've doubted Memphis on 2 occasions this season & I swore I'd never do it again. I think the Tigers might just be good enough to win that game.

Anyway, I believe Utah and Oregon both could hold their own against anyone in the country. I'm sure we've all seen more than enough college football to know that the game isn't played on paper. Anyone claiming Ohio State or LSU or anyone would just "have their way with Utah or Oregon" are either A. Biased or B. Homers.
I remember making the mistake in 2008 thinking alabama would absolutely humiliate Utah in our bowl game, and boy was I wrong. It's a bummer we have to go another year without seeing some new faces in the playoffs. But Congratulations on the win, and maybe the PAC-12 should just host a meeting and agree to stop beating each other up every year LOL.

This is what happens when you haven’t played a team in the top 25 the entire season thinking you look good until a ranked team crushes you. Kinda like Bama, they didn’t get crushed but the only two teams they played in the top 25 were LSU & Auburn and they lost to both.
When most of your wins in the season come from unranked and division 3 teams you shouldn’t be beating your chest or even thinking you belong in the playoff mix.

All the talk about Utah reminded me of how everyone was slurping Notre Dame about 7 or 8 years ago. Notre Dame went undefeated and had “the best run defense in the country”. They played Alabama for the National Championship that season. It was 35-0 Alabama midway through the 3rd quarter before Notre Dame scored. So glad Utah won’t be in the running for the playoff. Whoever they potentially played would’ve smoked them by 40 or 50 points.
I think a lot of people will view this game that Utah was overrated. But really, I am seeing it more that Oregon is a very good team who played below themselves in a couple of games this season. If Oregon had played like this consistently every game this season, they would be in the CFP no doubt.

From CFP to Alamo bowl, life comes at ya fast
5:53 & 6:04 - Justin Herbert had an amazing game and you can tell he was feeling it out there. But the throws on these two plays are what gets you benched in the NFL. He got bailed out by his receiver making an amazing play on the first one. But that 2nd throw is one he HAS TO make if he wants to succeed at the next level. I'm not saying that's an easy throw. But those are the kind of throws you can't miss. In the NFL that wouldn't have been a deflection that was almost intercepted. In the NFL that's a INT going the other way without question. Plus, it's not just that he missed the throw, it's where he missed the throw. You hear it all the time "throw it to where only your receiver can catch it." That way, either your receiver makes the catch or no one does and you move on to the next down. He threw it behind the receiver which is the most dangerous place to miss. That's an INT going the other way every single time. He needs to learn to throw that going to the right and lower to the ground. Either that, or throw it so the Receiver catches it in mid-stride. But what he did was too dangerous...

Oregon’s O line made Utah’s vaunted D line look pedestrian. Utah benefited from an easy schedule, plain and simple.
As a Utes fan, I consider the 2019 Pac 12 Championship loss to Oregon and our 47-7 loss against TCU back in 2010, our most humiliating and disapointing defeats in program history. We played so badly in both games, and I was so dissapointed. Both times the Utes were ranked in the Top Five and trying to make it to the playoffs, and both times, they proved they were not ready.
I don't care what anyone says. This is the year Oregon gets a championship.

Justin Herbert and Sam Ehlinger are very similar type of qb. When I watch either one of them they mirror each others in style of play. It's like if you switch them you'd probably not know they were switched.

PAC12 should look at a smaller venue or make it a home game for the team with the best record/tie-breakers. If this match-up was in Vegas with the new stadium, there may be even less people attending. To go from CFP #4 spot/Rose Bowl to Alamo/Holiday Bowl WOW. Looks like everyone but the Freshman and Sophomores will be drinking on the ride back to Salt Lake City.

I love this. I love college football. All the analysts who think they know who the best teams are? This doesn't fit ESPN's narrative of who they think should be in. This shows you that on any given night. Of course if Georgia wins then they get 2 SEC teams in which is what they want. I hope there are more upsets to come and "the experts" will disappear into the night.
If UGA wins the SEC they rightly deserve to be in above anyone else...the only other options on the table at this moment are Oklahoma and Baylor...UGA has had better quality wins...against far better teams. Although stuggling on the offensive side.
