This dude was hard. But the champions helped me greatly and I used ALL of them. I do believe that canonically the Test of Strength Monks were the ones who specialized in combat (source: Creating a Champion artbook), and the strongest one was the one in the Kakariko Village Shrine that teaches you combat techniques. This is just my headcanon, but I think that the Kakariko Village Monk and Maz Koshia were of a similar skill level, because I can definitely see those two having a friendly rivalry 10000 years ago.

While the whole world is playing Tears of the Kingdom I wanted to finally play the DLC of Breath of the Wild so yesterday I had my 'wait why is there boss music?? No, Sir, please sit down I don't want to fight you!!' moment for the first time with Maz Koshia. This may be my favourite battle theme in the game.
I really don't get his combos on AoC it's so strange Edit: Okay guys I got it it's all about creating sheikah things on the battlefield and then becoming giant to use the hammer on them
I like how they just stand up after sitting for 10,000+ years and are fine and have a ton of energy. If I sit for more than an hour and stand up I feel dizzy for a sec.
Most of the bosses are slow lumbering beasts or similar, I would love if we could see more enemies like TP's Darknuts. Those fights were fun, and then he threw that long sword down and things really got interesting!
I feel sorry for the guy who's comment I read earlier today. He saw the scene where Maz Koshia begins to move before he saw the dlc, and was freaked out waiting for that encounter at every shrine. Man, I suck at the combat ones and thinking I'd have to possibly fight the stiff in back after a creepy cutscene and toughest battle yet? That's some dread I'm actually kinda sad I missed XD
While I don't think many bosses in this game are hard once you have a boatload of good weapons (particularly multishot bows and ancient arrows for Monk Maz Koshia), this is definitely the fight everyone was dying to see after seeing just how strong their tech was. My favorite detail about the Monks is that you can see the tapestry for the Calamity 10,000 years ago has HUNDREDS of them fighting alongside Link and Zelda to seal Calamity Ganon.
