Sewer-gator: The Joke boss G-5: The set-piece boss Super Tyrant: The One Hit Kill boss G-2: The Puzzle boss G-1: The Ammo-Wasting boss G-4 The Time Consuming Boss Mr. X: The PSTD giving boss G-3: The Badass Boss
“Mr X’s purpose is solely to hunt you down until you’re dead. I can’t think of a more horrifying goal.” Nemesis in RE3 remake: “Yeah hold my tentacle man.”
Out of all the bosses of the game, Super Tyrant X is my personal favorite boss of RE 2 for a few good reasons. Buildup: The escape sequence of Leon’s story has a great buildup for the fight. The music hints of what’s in store near the end. When you get near the end, Mr. X gets you cornered at a wall of flames, but you get saved by an explosion that seemingly took him down. But when you take the final platform to the train, X comes out of the flames looking as menacing as ever and assault you for one final time. Atmosphere: The atmosphere being a laboratory crumbling around you as you head down the platform with Mr. X and falling debris landing on the platform is a very good detail. It somewhat make the fight feel like an intense & climatic final encounter. Especially for a final boss (although X isn’t the overall final boss). Music: Don’t get me started with the music! “Last Judgement” is my all time favorite RE boss track! It has a very godly/intense/climatic feel and it tells you: “You’re in for a world of pain” as Mr. X (kinda) unleashed his true power! It syncs very well with the fight, especially with the outro of the fight as the song calms down and re-enters the escape tune. You can say Nemesis is a better Tyrant, but Mr. X IS my first Tyrant I faced in the series (as RE 2 [2019] is my first game) and he’s the reason I’m here in the RE universe!
The big issue with super Tyrant is he’s more of a boss that’d work with the RE4 mechanics and QTEs to dodge perilous attacks. Luckily they seem to bring them back in Re3make
The dodges in RE3 are awesome, but only Jill can do them. Carlos has what I can only describe as a "parry" that stuns some enemies if timed correctly. If you get a perfect one, it actually gives you bullet time. These would've worked great in RE2, but I feel it would've made Mr. X too easy to deal with.
You know, I’m always genuinely impressed with how open and appreciative you are of literally every type of boss in gaming, from the often scoffed at gimmick bosses to roaming threat bosses like Mr. X, it’s very refreshing to see someone with such a love for gaming as a whole talk about something truly amazing. Thanks for keeping the gaming community informed, entertained, and thoughtful.
"Even the full four-hundred shots from the minigun isn't enough to down him" Heh, I finished Claire's run for the first time yesterday; I assumed that G stage 3 would be his final fight so before the final run through the facility to get to the train I stored all of my weapons bar the grenade launcher (with which I had 4 acid rounds remaining) in one of the boxes. After spending all the minigun's ammo and shooting the one acid round I had left after the run to the fight arena, I was just left running around the arena trying not to get killed in the hopes that, with a minute or so remaining on the timer, the platform would stop moving and Claire and Sherry would get the hell out of there without having to outright kill G. Claire and Sherry got explodified. Good times.

TheSpookyBoi it definetly makes sense I was just asking why they would ask for something that isn’t in the original game? Leon and Claire ads slower then Jill and Carlos too
@@KingBurger52 You'd be surprised how many cops stand their ground and take it like a champ. Despite their training. I mean it, look up 21ft rule. Bosses aren't great, but it's an amazing game with really good progression and puzzle design. Also once you've made your way through the Resident Evil series, I highly recommend it's spiritual successor, the Evil Within. @@theDeModcracy I feel RE3 remake is slightly better, minus the lack of a notable 2nd campaign because of it only having Jill as the main character. RE3 remake just plays a lot better and more fluidly thankfully due to the ability to dodge and faster move speed. The entire time I played RE2 remake I kept wishing "man oh man do I wish I could dodge". And Nemesis is a slight step up from Mr. X by having a larger moveset than just a punch and grab. @@theDeModcracy Yep, my experience was pretty much the same. I loved the game, but I can definitely see a gap between RE2 Remake and RE2 Remake. I hadn't played the original so I guess I am not that critical regarding cut content, but even to me this seems more like a 40€ experience instead of 60€ experience.
My favourite is the super mr x fight. I get that people complain about the lack of dodge mechanics but I think that adds something unique to the gameplay
@@habuhomeboy original doesn't have repetitive bosses and have different dialogues Also if u do for example blow a wall in A scenario it will be blown up in B later in the game where remake u have to do the same twice If u haven't played the original check it out and resident evil 2 original was my first horror game
Hi demod. Im glad you liked RE2. Doing a boss ranking feels like a habit at this point :) I wouldn't say the resident evil series has been the scariest series out there, but it does have its moments. Where resident evil shines, is in the survival aspect. Having next to no resources and being forced to go up against overwhelming odds. Most of the stress you feel throughout the games is not knowing if you will be able to survive the next encounter. If you really like this series, i would highly recommend taking a look at RE4. Yes it is one of the older games, but in my opinion, still holds up very well. It has a large enemy variety, a lot of weapons to choose from, progression through upgrading your guns and health, replay-ability, exploration to uncover secrets and treasures, its own scary encounters, its own memorable sequences, additional modes, and of course, boss fights. Resident evil 4 is the reason why so many people, myself included, fell in love with the franchise. I would also say it is the main reason why third person shooters even exist! That said, nice job on the video! I am a big fan of your content and you are one of the main reasons why i fell in love with the souls series! Keep up the great work!
Demodcracy: you have to keep moving in a small room to dodge g2s ceiling attacks. Me: "really, how's that going for ya" (standing in the spot by the metal door where he can't hit you...)
Hey demod, havent been able to watch some of the more recent videos cause I havent got around to playing the games yet. I hope you are doing well and still enjoying the content you make, love the stuff.
Cool list. This is mine 8: William Stage 2 (Yep. I can’t stand this fight.) 7: Sewergator 6: William Final Stage 5: William Stage 4 Claire A 4: William Stage 1 3: Super Tyrant 2: Mr. X 1: William Stage 3
Super Tyrant might be my favorite It’s an intense fight with the bastard that chased you throughout the entire game and getting to turn him into a pair of legs is so satisfying
Resident evil 4 is my personal favorite game and I think it has some fun and memorable bosses, it is also the next to feature Leon which is always a good thing, I would recommend you do that game next
Leon's story is honestly one of the best in the series. It's amazing to see how different he is in RE2 compared to RE4, my personal favorite Resident Evil game. And I honestly hope that he returns for RE8.
I'm still sour with Birkins second fight. For one, Capcom where is my awesome triumphant music for this boss from the original. Oh right dlc. That's not why I'm actually sour. I'm not sour at the fight itself moreso the games autosave for kicking in right when Birkin was on my god damn ass trying to take a swipe at me. So you can imagine my frustration when i died, reloaded back in only to get immediately hit by him.
I wasn't expecting to see you cover Resident Evil, this is awesome my dude!!!! Btw i also recommend you check out Resident Evil 7 if u wanna play more RE
I’m sure someone else has said this be G stage 5 doesn’t require as much ammo as you think. If you back up all the way and wait he will open his mouth and reveal the weak spot. Then you can just unload whatever you have and he will go down pretty fast.
Honestly, Claire is such a badass in comparison to Leon. I love his kind of obvious heroic charm boy vibe but Claire acts like a total survivor. It’s great getting to see them both but Claire is just better in my book.
Demod I’ve been a fan of your videos since your gow3 rankings and I think u should do a boss ranking (difficulty or otherwise) on undertale I know it came out a long time ago but the bosses were honestly really good IMO and they also gave some of the most feels. And a lot of them have 2 different versions depending on which route so it’d be pretty cool rank them
Resident Evil has been a massive source for speed runs over the years and even if each game only has up to 8 bosses the series has so many entries that you could probably do a video a day for well over a month or 2 and still have material. Not saying that needs to happen but still
I'd recommend checking out the whole series in your free time, but in terms of games I think are truly special: Resident Evil Remake (it fully replaces the original in terms of quality imo) Resident Evil 2 (while I prefer the Remake, the original is fantastic and different enough to warrant a playthrough) Resident Evil 3 & Remake (each has their own strengths and weaknesses) Resident Evil Code: Veronica Resident Evil 4 Resident Evil 7 Resi 5 & 6 are good games in their own right, but a massive departure from survival horror into what I call action horror. They're really fun, but not that scary imo. I haven't played either of the Revelations games yet, but I've heard they're both good games. Edit: I completely forgot about Resident Evil 0. It's... okay. That's really all I can say there. It's not bad, but not great either imo.
0 is wasted potential incarnate for me, got into the series a month ago starting with it, and finishing Resi 1 Chris route only made me upset that 0 didn't give a proper exploration of Bravo team and their characters
I love the progression of William Birkin, as it shows the potential strengths and weaknesses of the G-virus as a biological weapon. G1 is very strong - he can even solo Mr. X if he gets the drop on him - but the struggle between William and G is a definitive drawback, as is his massive weak spot. G2 removes William from the equation entirely and gains speed and maneuverability, at the cost of a second weak point. G3 demonstrably evolves as a response to Annette's acid rounds, and his strength has increased tremendously from G2, at the cost of his speed. He gains another weak point, but eventually consolidates all his weak points into one spot. G4 is the peak of the weaponization of a single body, with his size and speed increasing drastically, but he's started to lose the definition William's base form gave him, losing his legs halfway through the fight as he rapidly mutates from the player's damage. Finally, G5 shows an evolutionary dead end, as he's devolved into a very angry blob, requiring only the formality of a big boom to take him out for good.
I’m in complete agreement with the whole can’t fight back. If I can’t eventually kill something as easily as it can kill me. I’m not likely to play it.
A big part of what makes the RE games so hard and terrifying is your lack of mobility. The fact your charachter moves so slow and has no dodge mechanic just raises your anxiety to lofty heights.
Super Tyrant on #6? I thought that was the best boss fight in the entire game. G4 and 2 also deserve to be at the bottom with G5 tbh, but hey just my opinion
Pro tip: the higher the fps, more damage the knife does. If you're on PC and going to use a knife against a boss, turn down your resolution and turn fidelity fx to performance. Side note: because you'll be getting like 5 hits power swing instead of 1, the durability will drain quickly, but over the live of the knife it'll do the some total damage
Interesting list! My most irritating boss personally was birkin 2 I think 🤔 tight space and I'm terrible at dodging! Fantastic vid! Have you played RE3 yet?
I could see a big argument for making Birken 2 lower. That tight space really is an issue with no evasion mechanic. I did play RE3. Really loved it. Excited to make a video soon
Not gonna lie G3 absolutely kicked my ASS, on my first run. It took me FOREVER. I came into the fight at critical health, 1 hit from death so had to deal with getting the first aid spray, then beating the boss of without dying, because of that minimal health. Gotta say though one of the most rewarding experiences. Wish the game wouldn't prompt to switch to "Assisted" so much tho
"You don't know what you're up against!" "I have a pretty damn good idea!" "Whatever you do... DON'T STOP UNTIL IT'S FINISHED!" "Trust me! This. Ends. Now!"
If you would have the chance (and time) to do a FFVII remake boss fight rankings, would you? Because I would be interested about your opinion on it after it has been out. Also love your ranking videos!!
Are you gonna do another video like the one you did on difficulty, that video was something just amazing , i would love to hear your thoughts on some other game things like open world or items
I would love to do RE7 eventually. I'm going to start with RE2R, RE3R, and RE4. I'm debating whether to go for RE1 Remaster of RE7 after. I've not heard the best things about 5-6, so I'm holding off there
@@theDeModcracy I would probably skip 6. 5 wasnt great but it wasnt awful. It had some pretty crazy boss fights. I do think you should be fine doing 3,4,5,7. Then if you want there are spinoffs if you really want to do everything.
I'm just gonna say re3 remake bosses are amazing. I thought they were much better than 2s. I think the dodge mechanic helps makes them some of the best in all of resident evil.
I got that shimmy I was asking for! Not sure yet how I feel on how the fights compare. Taking a bit to simmer on it. I like the idea of eventually doing a community voted ranking of the fights across multiple games.
This late in the day I assume you've started RE3 and fuck is Nemesis terrifying! Started on hardcore and ended up having to roll back a save because I ended up running out of healing at the current spot I was.
All the action adventure games (4,5 and 6) have a lot of bosses, some cool and some meh. Those are worth to try. But personally my favourite boss battles for the whole series are in the on-rails fps Umbrella Chronicles and Darkside Chronicles, and in the Outbreaks (File 1 and 2); on the first you have a boss battle at almost every level and they are really different most of the time, and on the Outbreaks you fight a lot of enemies not seen in the rest of resident evils, like zombie elephants and lions.
Do Re4hd edition Re3make and Re1make all great games. I'd start with 4 since its the longest of those 3. Oh and 7 it's amazing it's my third favorite Resi just barely ahead of the 3make

Edit: I think the developers giving Carlos his own unique campaign instead of sharing one, would have helped add replay value to the game.
You played one of my favorite games!
Unfortunately it could have been done a lot better
@@hassanawdi3793 what are you talking about
@@habuhomeboy original doesn't have repetitive bosses and have different dialogues
Also if u do for example blow a wall in A scenario it will be blown up in B later in the game where remake u have to do the same twice
If u haven't played the original check it out and resident evil 2 original was my first horror game
@@hassanawdi3793 I have played it. I prefer the remake.
@@habuhomeboy the graphics and enemies designs were great but if they fixed the scenarios it would have been 10/10 but to me it's 7/10
Hi demod. Im glad you liked RE2. Doing a boss ranking feels like a habit at this point :)
I wouldn't say the resident evil series has been the scariest series out there, but it does have its moments.
Wait, can he actually not hit you there? I had him smack me at the door before lol. Not from the punch down, but he'll swing his arm
@@theDeModcracy there's a glitch spot look up speed runners and you'll see it
Hey demod, havent been able to watch some of the more recent videos cause I havent got around to playing the games yet. I hope you are doing well and still enjoying the content you make, love the stuff.
Cant wait to see more RE titles on this channel
Cool list. This is mine
8: William Stage 2 (Yep. I can’t stand this fight.)
7: Sewergator
6: William Final Stage
5: William Stage 4 Claire A
4: William Stage 1
3: Super Tyrant
2: Mr. X
1: William Stage 3
Bro, I’ve been dying for you to do this series
Super Tyrant might be my favorite
It’s an intense fight with the bastard that chased you throughout the entire game and getting to turn him into a pair of legs is so satisfying
g2 and g3 Birkin have always been my fave bosses in resident evil, the are visually terrifying, and are the perfect depiction of the G virus.
Resident evil 4 is my personal favorite game and I think it has some fun and memorable bosses, it is also the next to feature Leon which is always a good thing, I would recommend you do that game next
If I had to see any boss ranking from the Resident Evil series I'd definitely want to see a Resident Evil 7 boss ranking!
RE7 is definitely on the list. I've heard it was a big return to form for the series. Gonna start with RE3R and RE4 and go from there
The virgin Mr. X vs the Chad Birkin lol
Great video as always man! =)
I’m So Glad We Got That Convenient
Quad-Launcher To Kill Mr X In Leon’s Play through
Leon's story is honestly one of the best in the series. It's amazing to see how different he is in RE2 compared to RE4, my personal favorite Resident Evil game. And I honestly hope that he returns for RE8.
Not that I wasn't aware of how revered RE4 was critically, but these comments are making me want to drop everything to play now!
Leon is the only guy to not appear after RE6,so he'll probably appear in RE8.
Poor guy had to deal with G Birkin and Mr X on his first day on the job lol.
cikan re8 plays around Chris and ethan
I'm still sour with Birkins second fight. For one, Capcom where is my awesome triumphant music for this boss from the original. Oh right dlc. That's not why I'm actually sour. I'm not sour at the fight itself moreso the games autosave for kicking in right when Birkin was on my god damn ass trying to take a swipe at me. So you can imagine my frustration when i died, reloaded back in only to get immediately hit by him.
Can't wait for re3 it was my personal favorite ,a major factor was being able to dodge the enemies.
the Demodcracy ranking resident evil 2 bosses? This is quality stuff
Like Luke and Leia lol
Not how i remember them in the original lol
Dogshit
Great vid dmod
Demod I’ve been a fan of your videos since your gow3 rankings and I think u should do a boss ranking (difficulty or otherwise) on undertale I know it came out a long time ago but the bosses were honestly really good IMO and they also gave some of the most feels. And a lot of them have 2 different versions depending on which route so it’d be pretty cool rank them
Nice ranking. Will you be covering the entire series including the classics? I highly recommend those!
Looking to start with RE3R and RE4 then go from there. If I get deep in, I'll definitely be giving more of it a look
@@theDeModcracy Sounds great! I really hope you cover the original RE1-3, as well as Code Veronica and Zero.
Resident Evil has been a massive source for speed runs over the years and even if each game only has up to 8 bosses the series has so many entries that you could probably do a video a day for well over a month or 2 and still have material. Not saying that needs to happen but still
I can't wait to see the ranking for Resident Evil 4 bosses.
If you're gonna jump into horror games now, an Evil Within boss list would be dope to see
I have so many mods installed that it's weird to see Leon, Claire, and the Tyrant dressed normally...and normal size and speed.
Ur so great at doing TH-cam bro
I'd recommend checking out the whole series in your free time, but in terms of games I think are truly special:
Resident Evil Remake (it fully replaces the original in terms of quality imo)
Resident Evil 2 (while I prefer the Remake, the original is fantastic and different enough to warrant a playthrough)
Resident Evil 3 & Remake (each has their own strengths and weaknesses)
Resident Evil Code: Veronica
Resident Evil 4
Resident Evil 7
Resi 5 & 6 are good games in their own right, but a massive departure from survival horror into what I call action horror.
*sits back and waits for him to do Code Veronica*
One of my favourite horror games! Thanks, Demod!
I was happy not hearing all on the Internet placing a remake of a nintines game
We need a resident evil 4 and 5 boss ranking ASAP
WHEN ARE YOU DOING THE BPRDERLANDS BOSSES IVE BEEN WAITING FOREVER
On a side note I love your videos, Daddy DeMod.
Borderlands is one I've wanted to do for a while. We'll see how things progress during summer. Gonna be a big gap in releases it looks like for now!
@@theDeModcracy YESSSS
Not gonna lie G3 absolutely kicked my ASS, on my first run. It took me FOREVER. I came into the fight at critical health, 1 hit from death so had to deal with getting the first aid spray, then beating the boss of without dying, because of that minimal health. Gotta say though one of the most rewarding experiences. Wish the game wouldn't prompt to switch to "Assisted" so much tho
Hopefully this means we'll get a resi 3 video now?
Bloodborne was the most horror I've felt in any game.
Luis Martinez I can’t believe I’m the only one that thought it was boring af.
No. I refuse to believe I thought that 6 months ago.
"You don't know what you're up against!"
"I have a pretty damn good idea!"
"Whatever you do... DON'T STOP UNTIL IT'S FINISHED!"
"Trust me! This. Ends. Now!"
You should do a big list of all resident evil bosses from worst to best it will make for a good video
Will you be doing a boss ranking for FFVII or any final fantasy game?
Great list! Although, one thing bothered me a little 🙈🙈 it's spelled Birkin not Birken
If you would have the chance (and time) to do a FFVII remake boss fight rankings, would you?
Because I would be interested about your opinion on it after it has been out.
Also love your ranking videos!!
3:06 A THIRD WALL OF FLESH
Are you gonna do another video like the one you did on difficulty, that video was something just amazing , i would love to hear your thoughts on some other game things like open world or items
Im interested to know which one you'll play next. Prolly RE3 but what about after that. Hope you play em on stream tho.
AYYY thanks for finally tacking RE! Any interest in doing RE7 as well? Curious your thoughts on that!
The RE2 and RE3 remakes we're well worth the wait let's hope they do code veronica!
Can you do a ranking for the original Resident Evil 2 game?
I'm just gonna say re3 remake bosses are amazing. I thought they were much better than 2s. I think the dodge mechanic helps makes them some of the best in all of resident evil.
I got that shimmy I was asking for! Not sure yet how I feel on how the fights compare. Taking a bit to simmer on it. I like the idea of eventually doing a community voted ranking of the fights across multiple games.
@@theDeModcracy That would be amazing. And yes. The shimmy makes them more manageable and allows for more aggressive AI
This late in the day I assume you've started RE3 and fuck is Nemesis terrifying! Started on hardcore and ended up having to roll back a save because I ended up running out of healing at the current spot I was.
Haha I had the same experience. He felt like Mr. X on steroids in the first level.
Does supplexing zombie priests count as character progression for Leon?
Ah yes. I also hold a membership to Weenie Hut Jr... Yeah, I couldn't even beat the RE1 Remake Remaster on PS4...
Key to not take damage from Mr. X: don't aim for the head cuz he get irritated if you shoot his hat off
All the action adventure games (4,5 and 6) have a lot of bosses, some cool and some meh.
