    Evertune are absolute chads for making this bridge happen through Aristedes! I'm one of those people who have been wanting Evertune to make a multiscale version of their bridge for a long time, basically ever since I learned how the bridge worked. Each saddle is its own module so you'd think going multiscale would be naturally the next step in the evolution of the Evertune bridge! I'm super excited to see what Evertune will do with this in the future!

    Having played a 25.5-27" Multiscale since 2018, it would be incredibly nice to have a multiscale with an evertune bridge.
    But for the future of guitar as a whole, I bet it'll be companies trying incredibly radical innovations (like Verso) that will truly expand the instrument itself.

      I'm not sure, because Evertune already announced multiscale and bass bridges with version 2. Also, this is not modded bridge, they made it from scratch, and I'm sure, it will be a serial production, because there is no sense to make it for only 1 guitar or brand.

    I picked up the new Solar 29 inch 7 string with an Evertune and it doesn't feel offensively big to me, but like a familiar friend coming from playing an Agile 8 string with a 27 inch scale. Certainly the upper limit of length I'd want, but definitely allows me to get down to drop whatever without having to go above a 70 or so on the low string. I could never really get comfortable with multiscales, but I'd for sure want to try a newer Evertune model. Truthfully more interested in Evertune for bass but this is no doubt a huge development too.

    This will definitely have its market but for me personally it’s a hard pass. I’m from the John Browne & Olly Steele school of thought where the slight deviations in pitch are what makes a playing style / sound unique and have character. Might as well just programme midi if the ultimate goal is just a perfect (lifeless ?) sound.

    • @William_Earl
      @William_Earl ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I gave a thumbs up. I agree, I imagine someone who plays this exclusively with the bridge set to fixed will sound not nearly as great if you hand them a standard hard tail guitar or floating bridge, just because of all the little nuances that come with finger pressure and unwittingly bending notes when sliding or gripping too hard. Too many guitar players think that just because they are pressing the correct fret and hitting the string at, more or less, the right time, they are playing it right.
      However, I imagine this will be a godsend for live bands that require extreme accuracy or producers who need to cut guitar tracking time. I would love this for some guitars, especially if I was still playing in my old techy, progressive deathcore band.

    • @alexjay8823
      @alexjay8823 ปีที่แล้ว

      I somewhat agree with the sentiment, I think the benefit of tuning stability playing live and touring would still make me want one of these bridges

    • @benstanfill363
      @benstanfill363 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      There's still slight variations in pitch, you just don't go completely out of tune. You can bend, you can let the guitar sit, you can strum as hard as you want, it won't go out of tune, but it's a mechanical system so it's not perfect. There's still friction so there's a little pitch variation, just not a noticeable amount. I tune my guitar about once every 2 weeks if I'm playing an hour or so every night. It's a god send for recording and I imagine live too.

      Jess's hail to imperfect pitch. I have to get on my knees in the face of such artistic souls....yeah l never hear such an unrealistic notion! That has to be some high end, post modern guitar philosophy.... not for the common mortals.

    I don't think this is as crazy as you a suggesting. The mechanics of the evertune don't change at all if I understand you, they are still individual tensioners for each spring? it's simply the shape of the bridge housing that has changed.

    • @benstanfill363
      @benstanfill363 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not quite. The each saddle is part of a module and all the modules are held in by a comb. You can move the saddles a little in the comb but I don't think to this degree. So they'd have to modify or get rid of the comb, make some new system to hold all the modules together and in place, then redesign the housing to fit the modules. I don't imagine anything in the actual modules has to change.

    Makes sense aesthetically to put on a multiscale guitar that didn't have Evertune but I'm confused as to function. I thought Multiscale was already for intonation and tension involving fixed bridges. Evertune does this with standard guitars, keeping things in tune. Multiscale and Evertune is now just super implementation and I'm wondering if this might actually make things sound smaller. I always thought that Telecasters with the way they intonated the limited 3 pc bridges similar to the way a piano is tuned is freaking genius and actually makes the instrument sound bigger and more musical. Is the goal practicality with instruments? Or is it functionality? Just thoughts that come to mind rapidly - not a direct critique of the Multi-Evertune because I've not tried it yet myself :)

    • @KeyanHoushmandLive
      @KeyanHoushmandLive  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Any guitar that is tuned low without an Evertune will never have the tuning stability of an Evertune. I don’t think people realise that people are not being extra when they say that an evertune will literally keep your guitar in tune forever. If you play a standard fixed bridge 7 string, I can guarantee you that those strings will deviate from where you tuned them in about 10 minutes. Even if it’s only a couple cents each string, it’s still enough to be noticeable, especially in a recording environment.

    • @KeyanHoushmandLive

      The bridge needs to be slanted to match the slant of the fan. If the saddles don’t line up with the fan, the intonation and tuning of that string will never be accurate. I’m not sure how Ormsby did it without running into that issue, but I wouldn’t really call that guitar a true fan fret multiscale anyway

      When you hit the string, specially in lower tunings, the pitch drifts, go sharp and then flat. You can maintain tuning like, while you are playing it stays in tune. But the Evertune is the only bridge to really do what i just explained.

      @@gustavomazonave8536 I know how evertune works and I play drop a on the six strings.
      What I meant is that the expense, complexity and performance of this bridge don't seem incredible to me in relation to a good hipshot and a well-done tuning.

    Here's my question tho.....doesn't a straight scale evertune do the same thing? Any evertune, whether it's multiscale or not will keep the tension how you set it right? So what's the benefit of a mutliscale evertune?

    • @KeyanHoushmandLive
      @KeyanHoushmandLive  ปีที่แล้ว

      Evertunes don’t make your strings feel any tighter, it will just actively move the mechanical saddles as a string is moving in order for the pitch to be the same. Scale length and string gauge will have a much bigger impact on how tight that string feels to pick through

    • @JavierPwns

      It doesn’t suck tone at all but you lose a lot of sustain on the higher strings, notes on the high E die in 1.5 seconds on the higher frets

    I think people who've never played an evertune don't understand how it works. It is not the same as programming a midi guitar. Everything that influences your sound on a normal guitar is still in effect. Every bend, bit of vibrato, pick dynamic, literally everything. There's even very minor pitch fluctuations when picking really hard, but, and this is why evertune is amazing, those little pitch fluctuations aren't enough for the guitar to sound out of tune. The guitar just stays in tune. Everything else is the same. All the nuance of guitar playing is still there. You're only doing yourself a disservice to not play one. Take 20 minutes to learn how to set it up and it is well worth the investment.

    • @maxim90909
      @maxim90909 ปีที่แล้ว

      depends, you have to set it up for bending. if you’re in the middle of zone 2 then you effectively can’t bend, if you go to the edge of zone 2/3 you can bend

    GIVE ME AN EVERTUNE WITH PIEZO UGH
    I inquired Evertune support and they said they said they made a prototype and it's totally doable, but they would need to invest in tooling for mass production and have other priorities before they look into releasing a piezo version :(
