Congratulations on the kid! I was hoping to see more from you. Your channel is awesome and kind of reminds me of my old days building cars with friends and running the piss out of them and having fun. You’ve actually inspired me to get back into the game and revive my old beat up 94 CX hatch. Maybe I’ll make a drive down from NC sometime to an event and meet you guys. Happy racing and be safe!
Glad to see you guys back, congrats in the Baby. And it's most likely the radiator. I had that problem before and so did my friend. We just out a new radiator on and problem solved. If it was the water pump it would overheat even on your drive home. But also look into the thermostat. Anyway glad to see your cars again. Missed you guys.
The fan isn't running when the car is moving, that only comes on when the car is stopped and idling, but the fan works fine. I think the raidiator is pinched off somewhere internally
Glad to see your back, I hope you aren't using a thermostat. Track cars don't need heaters or thermostat. As long as you are happy with how it felt! Yes and congratulations on being a daddy!
I personally like heaters on track cars, only for the fact that "if" the car does overheat, you can help remove the heat from the engine by turning it on. I had this issue about a year ago and since then I'm skeptical about removing mine, and I wanted to for weight savings but we'll see. You know how this Texas heat can be! 😓
@@Lucky Rooster Removing the thermostat. It's there (among other reasons) to keep the hot water in the radiator to exchange heat before re-entering the engine. No heat exchange = over heating.
Yaass gut it. No problems since ive gutted mine. I kept the actual plate to have some resistance giving more time to cool. But I say this, thermostats are the number 1 killer of engines. Causing overheating and warping heads leading to blown gasket.
Congrats for becoming a father and nice to see you back! Your situation is very similar to mine, when i bought my 'race car' almost at the last month before my doughter was born :D But you can't miss those oportunities, that life throws at you! Keep going. The biggest challenges are still in the future ;)
Is the area where the condenser would go blocked off? If its left open all the air that would be going to the radiator is going to the path of least resistance. Try putting cardboard to block off the empty space or get a full size radiator. I kept my condenser to prevent air from going around the radiator (half size) and avoid overheating.
Finally! Glad u got the car running. I have to work on my civic, swap out d16b7 for d16z6, you videos are useful. Maybe I’ll record mine. I’m also expecting a kid, but not until September

@@RefineMovement I have a spare integra radiator if your interested for free if you want to give it a shot for testing purposes. I'm in Tampa. It has a 145k miles, but it wasn't leaking when I pulled it out.
I appreciate your vids!!!! Car looks great.....ditch that wheel for a nice Sparco race suede super cheap on Amazon..and CONGRATS on the baby!!! and please dont stop makinging videos. Your enthusiasum is awesome for the Honda game.
Fan kicks on fine. That wasn't the issue. When driving the fan isn't running anyway. The fan did kick on when I parked it and let the engine run so the fan would cool the coolant faster. It turned off once the coolant was cooled back down then. I think the radiator is pinched off internally somewhere. Just doesn't have good flow at high rpm
Bro, can I contact you on any way? I need to find out how I'm gonna wire my car, to run a different engine, I have no idea to run a d15z6 block, with a d16z6 head, and a d16y8 manifold
It’s been awhile since I checked in with you guys but jw if you still have the z6 head?? I’m looking for one complete if possible to put on a built block a6 i wanna run in my crx.
dafuq...i beat on my car sometimes too, but have never seen it go past the usual spot. Does the fan turn on? Is it bled? termostat even opening? It's weird
Fan turned on when I got back into the pits, yeah. Then the fan turned off after everything cooled back down so it does work. We are thinking the radiator I have may be pinched off or blocked somehow internally and it really only is affecting the flow at high rpm
Get a racing thermostat (lower temp) or just take the thermostat out all together. Other than that get a better radiator. After laps and laps of racing a 30 year old radiator and a street radiator may not be up for the task.
Hey man just wondering what spec wheel and tyre combo you running? I'm trying to fit 15x7+35 with 205/55r15 tyres. The sidewall is huge but makes the car look thick haha
I am running the 949Racing 6UL. It's a 15x8 and I currently have a 225/50/15 Toyo R888R on it. I'd prefer to get a 225/45/15 but these will do for now. They are an awesome tire
@@RefineMovement can those be ordered in 16X7.5??(I know I just don't want to lower it that much) Anyways thanks in advance and congratulations in be a father
I do love it man, confidence inspiring for sure. My new lap time was 3 seconds quicker than my previous best lap, and that was after doing 1 lap this past weekend so I for sure felt good using it. I'll be able to give a more descriptive opinion when I can get some driving clips to talk over for you guys. Love it so far though
I don't know that there is one perfect size. You can make anything work you just have to drive it accordingly. since I'm running a 225 tire instead of the more common 205, using a 225/45 would be the same dimensions as if I was on a 205/50. Hope that makes sense. So I would prefer my overall wheel/tire diameter to be a little smaller. Helps with acceleration.
It felt great for the few laps I drove. There was so much going on I didn't even think to comment on it during the video filming. I'll talk about it more when I can get more driving clips for you all. It's really confidence inspiring though, that's for sure

I would put a mishimoto fam switch so fan turns on at colder temp and a colder thermostat so open at lower temp

Glad to see your back, I hope you aren't using a thermostat. Track cars don't need heaters or thermostat. As long as you are happy with how it felt! Yes and congratulations on being a daddy!
Nick Wetherbee I agree. Thermostat was the first thing that came to mind especially running the engine that hard.

Question ???? How many rows is your aluminum radiator ??? For circuit you will need a 3 row radiator with 16" slim fan.
