Yes Berry,I experienced Gilbert, every night my neighbors and I sat on my steps and counted the stars. By the time the light came back we were done counting all the stars. Those were the days, beautiful!!!

As an original Dutty Berry fan from ‘small island’ ST. KITTS & NEVIS 🇰🇳, some these comments are not nice. I personally agree that Sheryl didn’t have to mention other islands but she has influence. So, I also understand my small islanders who are hit by Hurricanes ANNUALLY while Jamaica is usually spared. Some of us have started over from scratch several times and the commenters were probably hoping she’d shed some light on the damage in other countries. For some reason, Jamaicans always segregate themselves from the rest of the Caribbean and feel is ‘badmind’ but I can promise awu, even though Jamaicans react to us like that, we’ll gladly help when there’s a major disaster. We all Caribbean people 🤷🏽♀️

Was it really? Gilbert was a category 3 hurricane berly was a category 4 to be honest I honestly don’t think Gilbert was that bad it’s a category 3 hurricane what made it seems extremely bad is that Jamaicans homes and buildings weren’t equipped for a hurricane plus persons back then didn’t made any preparations for the hurricane. Berly hurricane that came the other day is way stronger but less damage so it really had to do with the infrastructure really.
I heard Gilbert just had more rains. Beryl was definitely much stronger with winds

Growing up in Africa have couple hurricanes happiest moments..We always slept on the roof that was covered..it use to be all my siblings, my parents ,uncles and aunts. One time I remember my dad got a call from our neighbors son trying to find his parents so my dad and uncle .they got them to stay with us. 🇺🇸

That's why you get travel insurance so when things like this happen you don't have to risk your life yo go. Get reimbursed and go another time, not to mention you have medical and evacuation coverage
