    The last two major hurricanes that hit Central Florida, we were out of power for a week. I had coworkers that didn’t get power or water for 3 plus weeks. And that was with the local power company getting help from out of state workers. For people to expect JPS to have power back up the next day after a major hurricane is crazy to me.

    Hurricane Maria completely destroyed almost my entire island (Dominica) in 2017. It took some time to get power and WiFi back up and running. Like months. It’s a lot because lines are down and roads are broken. The safety of the line workers also had to be considered. Actually I was going to school in Jamaica at the time so when I left home for school there still was no WiFi back home. It took a looong time to recover. Both nature and the people. Things are still recovering. People are still renovating their homes. Some communities were temporarily abandoned and villagers relocated. Be patient and strong Jamrock. It’s not a quick thing. If JPS should have been prepared it sounds like the residents should been prepared also. Think about it. It’s not our first rodeo and how prepared can one be. Be realistic the poles are extremely damaged and the wires are everywhere. Give them some grace, be kind to each other.

      As much as how mi cuss them mi understand the pressure they are under….They don’t have the man power to achieve what they want in a short period of time…dealing with power is very and extremely dangerous.It takes time.Can they be more proactive….yes…The propel in management (not all)care mostly about money and not the technical aspect.

    The Azan girl with the private jet should now participate in the relief effort. How many members of the 21 families are doing just that? We should expect more charity from them and hold them accountable for the slave owning past that some of them are guilty of and which has helped to form the foundation of their wealth. Some of those families have been here for over 300 years.

    • @misterlexx2721

      Actually "Azan" is a Syrian/Lebanese family name. Her middle eastern ancestors came to Jamaica in the late 1800s or early 1900s as people running away from the Middle East as they were persecuted for being Christians. They are not British descent but Middle Eastern descent just like the Seaga family (Edward parents and grandparents), the Mahfood family.

If you were raised with a heart. It's NEVER a good idea to flaunt wealth. There are more needy and less privileged Jamaicans than wealthy. These Jamaicans CAN make their pockets feel it over time...

    Invest in generators. People go back to old school times to used lamp and battery radio. Can't be dependent on Gov and Utility companies.
    People are and get so dependent on power (light) and cable (wifi); their comfort level are not understanding
    Yes, whilst the jps could've trained more line men and have some on reserve contract during disastrous times
    Plus true, jps over charging their customers and since they have no other competitors, it certainly looking bad.

    • @misterlexx2721
      @misterlexx2721 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      You are so misinformed. Generators are largely gas or diesel which is expensive and unclean to the environment and lots of loud noise. Invest in solar power system which has come down alot in price. Renewable energy is cheaper in the long run and sunshine is abundant in Jamaica. Hsrvest that sun energy. Enersave company has various options. You don't need buy any damn fuel. That's what I invest in.
