There's a real recurring theme of the 12th Doctor doing kind things for his previous selves. Giving the 8th Doctor a friend, giving the 1st Doctor an ideal to strive towards, setting the 9th Doctor on the road to recovery... It's nice to see The Doctor being kind to himself as well as others for once. He's not just battling monsters and flying off without a second thought, he's spreading warmth and kindness wherever he finds it absent.
Personally while the idea is very sweet, I also find that it puts too much importance on 12. When I think you would prefer there wasn't like one super great Doctor, that is responsible for every other Doctor's happiness. It's why people were so disliking of Clara, the idea of a companion that is present throughout the Doctor's whole life is interesting, but it puts too much unearned importance on this one character.
@@HiperPivociarz The 12th Doctor isn't a different character from the 4th Doctor or the 9th Doctor. The Doctor has always been the same character, who has just developed over time. Also people disliking Clara is such a cringe meme.
She was then there for the final day of the Time War, the thousands of years on Trenzalore and then in s8-9 when the Doctor needed her most! No fan of Name of the Doctor neither, but it was hardly unearned. Nor is that a particularly pressing complaint for 12 IMO. Moffat just wanted to actually progress these characters. Hence, we have a lategame Doctor, companion, Missy and Davros. Works for me anyway.

Honey new Broke Canon dropped! I never realised how crazy the Captain John Hart audios actually are before this video. Surprised you didn't mention how he (and Jack) turned a whole planet into one big sex orgy, in The Sins of Captain John. Also, amongst all the wildness that is The Death of Captain Jack, there is mention of Miracle Day (so far the only mention of it so far in audio) where John is just "That's a giant arse. Let's never speaks of these events ever again!" This is probably the best representation so far for Miracle Day in the Whoniverse.
No lie I loved Josephine Day, I think that idea of being sentient art, like it’s such a fun companion idea. Big finish come on do more with her, maybe her and Frobisher have some fun
Jo Grant is the most precious adorable thing and killing her off in any way in an even remotely canonical work is unacceptable. I'm barely even okay with that time Missy killed Jo and that whole timeline explicitly got deleted.
Tbh, Josie is probably my favorite 8 companion, she and 8 just fit really well together and it's awesome having an artist character who paints the landscapes she visits
Personally I find it a very powerful idea that these wonderful men and women, who fought alien hordes, and saved the Earth thousands of times, usually die of such mundane causes. And more often than not, the stuff like a house fire or cancer is treated as something so much more scary than a dalek or a sontaran. Because it is. Because it's a real thing, it can happen to me or you. And there's no stopping it. Eventually we will all succumb to the passage of time. The luckiest of us will die happy, peacefully, of old age. I dunno, maybe this shows the big divide between an RTD fan and a Moffat fan? I'm more inspired by concepts that make a story more down to Earth, and usually sadder, you're more inspired by creative worldbuilding, and concepts that make the story feel more sci fi.
That music during the Josephine Day segment was making me feel incredible sad! And then I realized its from the end of "The Doctor Falls" when Cyber Bill is crying over the 12th Doctor . Still brings tears to my eyes!

The fact that the ships made the Time Lords, the TARDIS mind controlling her sleeping inhabitants or Lolita implying that the Doctor's TARDIS is half Yssgaroth. Take your pick, that story is juicy
I guess an interesting video would also be to talk about all those misterys like the name of the doctor etc that are sooo importent in the nwe series but wehre all answered in the classic show.
