My 991 Turbo S has never been in the shop and besides performance on the straight highway is amazing in the curves. Keeps its value very well also and was ranked number one brand by JD Powers
In a recent test from one of the car mags, Porsche also had the most consistent / tightest panel tolerances. Extremely good quality control over their production.
But really, if either car ended up in my driveway with a gift note on it, I wouldn't be complaining. Hell - would anyone - really? I mean, c`mon, these are both bad ass machines in stock form.

Turbo s and stock gt500 get almost identical times on the track, at least in motor trends timed laps in seca. I don't know know how more power would effect the performance on that track, as gt500 probably does not need more power than it has, but it might edge out the win if they also made some changes on the chassis as well.

They should use the base model GT500 with the big wing on the carbon fiber package version in this video too. The big wing on the GT500 creates alot of aero drag and slows it down alot.

A car that starts at $203,500 and weighs hundreds of pounds less lost to a Ford.
Actually it's a surprise. The Turbo S launches great pretty much everywhere. The stock GT500 has trouble to launch great outside a prepped drag strip, the 1000hp even more. Outside the prepared drag track the Mustang would struggle to get grip no matter what.

Also, whats amazing is not a 1000hp heavily modified hotrod, but the fact that a stock car can dance with it so effortlessly. And don't even go into EVERY other dynamic of driving, like handling, communication, balance, poise, confort, quality, braking, feel, etc. because we all know what happens then...

Yes it’s straight from the factory, yes they haven’t modified it, but in reality, it’s a $230k+ Speed machine, built to destroy pretty much anything it comes up against. Had the pleasure of driving a 992 Turbo S at Porsche Experience in ATL and its an amazing car. Inside and out top notch and that launch control and PDK on those Porsche's are best in the game
I’m fortunate enough to own one and can attest that the launch acceleration is insane

Here’s the issue with “American muscle” it takes a lot more HP to keep up with anything over seas...they need to figure out a way to put all that HP to use instead of destroying tires

For the asked price you can get the Porche as is or a cheaper car but invest the difference in upgrades.
If the goal is just performance, the second option seems like the more sensible choice.
This is why Corvettes are such a blast, for the price paid, they can punch far above their "weight class".

They literally stated in the video that of course the Porsche would win in a dig cause awd and that pdk. They also stated that before anyone comments exactly what you said that this is to "stimulant a highway race" or roller.
Porsche is rear engine configuration which makes a huge difference. Rear engine cars have superior acceleration off the line to front engine cars. AWD and rear engine configuration is a perfect combination for a amazing brutal accelerating car. Engjne placement matters alot in acceleration and handling most importantly.

@@elsieteenel303 Wrong-you are thinking of the pre 2015 Mustang-the newer Mustangs have IRS and improved many of their mechanicals by studying Porsche (Ford engineers admit that) and can now go around corners. I should know having owned a 5 speed Porsche 928 (front engine V8) for many years and now a 2015 6 speed Mustang GT Premium.

I have the 911 if you need 1000hp to bet the 911 on a rolling race by a couple of car lengths I would say put a bend in the road and it would be over for the mustang.
Just do a 1/4 miles race stock to stock or mod to mod, dumb as a doorknob race.

My sons best friend is Justin Pawlak (JTP), Ford/Roush Racing legend drift driver in his GT500 with 1200HP. The ONLY thing a GT500 is good for is drifting. The Porsche is an actual race car. The Turbo S is an unbelievable creation that we can drive every day. Just the idea that we can drive a car that continues to defy the “Stock” driving world standards with only 650HP is both amazing and the true winner. Every 1000Hp car will obviously win a rolling start over a 650Hp car regardless. That’s simply physics. But..... go to Laguna Seca and run the Hennessy against the exact same Porsche Turbo S and it’s an absolute blow out by Porsche. That’s the ONLY real test, Period. Love my 2008 911 Turbo with its GT Cup Mezger engine; 495Hp - Twin Turbo, 0-60 in 3.0 seconds, top speed 202 mph.... NO Tune! Still Today.

Well, the 911 is rear engine configuration which will give it a huge advantage over the front engine configuration shelby GT500. Engine placement configuration plays a role in acceleration and handling.

That makes 0 sense. On a street, the cars have a better chance of losing grip and going off the road. Roll races let the cars put the power down so theres less chance for spinning.

Seems to me a lot of ya'll did not watch this video or are fan boys. They literally said that the Porsche would win in a dig that's a given with having awd and a pdk. It was also stated that this is to "simulate a highway race" or roller. Also last I checked the price tag is quite different between the two and if I where to spend that much on any vehicle I would hope it would be nicer than the other.
Yes the 400 plus hp advantage beat the 911 how ever I would be interested to see what car would loose more money in 10 years even with the Hennessy upgrades to the Gt500
@@Pat-RickSmith more like 200-300hp difference bc porsche underrates their cars plus it weighs 600lbs less. Rear engine and awd too which will put down power better than any other car. You gotta put all those in consideration than just stating the hp difference
@@MM-su4gu You know what ? I would be a very happy camper with either one of these cars they are both just amazing autos and I think any one of us car people would feel the same way . I think we can all agree on that fact to be sure . That being said if I had the money for either one It would be a hard choice the Ford has that anazing engine the sounds it makes are truly intoxicating I dont know what kind reliability the car would have after letting Hennessy get there paws on it ? The interior of the 911 is a very nice place to be no cheepo black plastic all over it . But it boils down to personal tastes for me If I had the money I would take the 911 because I think it would hold its value better than the Mustang even if you paid the extra for the Hennessy upgrades matter a fact I dont think that the you could get your money back on putting all that work & money into the car
