Thanks for sharing your adventures! I am surprised that TH-cam isn't worth monetizing the series though. I thought it would at least cover fuel expense. You and the Boomershines are my favorite loop series. Don't be critical for taking too much. You didn't miss anything, which is FAR more important. But MOST impressive is you never had any MAJOR boating mishaps like bending shafts and bent props. The boat came home in one piece and no lives were lost, so, I'd say it was a TREMENDOUS success! Please post when you're ready to sell, as I'm SURE you won't need a broker and people will be fighting over that PROVEN, well maintained yacht! Look forward to what you choose to take on next! Be safe!
So glad you explained why we don’t get annoying ads on your channel - it’s always nice to open your latest post and have it go straight to your video, and I’ve wondered why that is. Now I know! For now, I’m going to keep watching - interested in seeing the final tour of Checkmate, and also in seeing what your next boat will be!
After watching the first video some months ago, I thought this is a train wreck waiting to happen, but it all turned out so well. There were a few hiccups along the way, but nothing catastrophic. So, congratulations on a successful loop. I enjoyed the ride.
Even in the RV world, its usually called a navy shower. Water on long enough to get wet, soap up an scrub down, then water on enough to rinse off. For dishes, I have a microwave sized counter top dishwasher that uses about 3 gallons of water. I did see an interesting video years ago. Guy had an electric water valve under his sink wired to a button under the toe rail in his RV. He left the water on at the sink all the time, but the electric valve was off. He would touch that button when he needed water. He did it mainly so he could walk over to the sink with dirty hands an not have to get the knob dirty. But it would be real useful hand washing dishes with very little water. I have been wanting to do that upgrade in my RV for years, just to lazy to get around to it.
Another excellent, informative and fun video. Thank you for sharing your answers to all the great questions. We look forward to all that you may post in the future. All the best Michael!
Can you give some info on your house batteries, solar, alternators and how that worked for your power needs. Anchoring out how long you could go without running generator or alternators on your engines. What engine HP do you have? 330, 380's
Loved following along. Was impressed with your candid nature. Not many would have posted the potential impact with that drawbridge. Wondering if you collect postcards from Hams around the world, or if that's still a thing. My best friend's dad had postcards all over the wall of his radio shack in Bermuda. He was VP9HS while my friend's older brother is VP9HR. Safe travels with your future boating.
I have a hard time being a tourist when I am driving as well. I focus on the details and moving forward. But, if I buy a plane ticket somewhere I find easy to be a tourist. Will need to unpack this some more before starting the loop. : )
Thanks for answering all of the questions that I submitted :) I like your idea of using hamsticks with the handrail mount. Over salt water, you could DX the world. Wishing you all the best with your future endeavors. 73
I didn’t start watching your vids until you were in NY I think it was. I think you did a great job of documenting the trip and showing the sites. I’m in BFT, NC and a boater also. I run a small Parker pilot house around here as it is all I need to accomplish the mission so to speak. I have plans/dreams of possibly… getting an old trawler when I retire (maybe in 5) and using it just for winters in FL and Bahamas. Given you are a FL guy I wanted to ask why you went with a boat without protected running gear for your loop trip? It obviously work out just fine. Does your Meridian have protection? Anyway, enjoyed the vids, I like your style. Keep posting.
@ I don’t really care who you agree with, recommending to people not to buy a transponder, which is safety equipment, is bad advice. But we all know you don’t own a boat anyway.

This was a great series. A lot of fun. I hope you document the new boat buying process.

Great series! Best of luck to you. I will stand by to see what is next.
Loved following you. Can't wait to see what you gonna do next!

Haha you travel like I do! I’m not a tourist either 😂

Thanks for the video! Fellow Ham here, thanks for all the info. Maybe one day I will do the loop.

Great video as usual. Do you recommend autopilot? How significant of a difference would it have been had you not had autopilot ?

I'll certainly stay. I'm glad to see you enjoying life.

If you ever do the loop again , Lake Erie is the walleye capital of the world , best tasting fish in my opinion.
Cool man great story
I'm staying; no matter what!!❤❤
Just ran across good job good luck with your new boat
Great ending, how about a highlight video.
👍
Actually, the wet down, soap down, rinse down is called a "SEA SHOWER"
Great job on the videos. Re the negatives...Remember, don't accept criticism from anyone you wouldn't take advice from...😊
Keep posting
It would have been great to have a QSO. Next time. 73 de N6GEB
A lot of strange answers here. Only buy an ais receiver? If everyone did that you wouldn’t see anyone. Bad advice
One person’s opinion…some of do us do agree with Michael.
