    Split cuts & blind pig are my favourite Triangle sets. I like how the Warriors use split cuts as a staple to there offence. One move I like to do NBA2k is to run the corner split cut, have Bogut receive up high, Curry will be down in the corner, Klay will run towards Curry to do a down screen, instead of Curry going past the Klay screen for a 3 or dribble hand-off by Bogut, I manually get Steph to do a V-cut so he then runs baseline while his defender overplays and gets stuck on the Klay pick, easy 2 point 99.9% of the time.

    It's the little things about the triangle that the Nicks didn't understand. I love the pivot/shield on the pass @ 4:16. It's so fundamental to that pinch post, yet the nicks rarely were able to do it correctly. I know it's easier seeing the plays from a bird's eye view, but I'm amazed at how many people know the intricate nuances of the triangle from TEX & Phil vids (and 2K) yet so many players struggle understanding spacing & the constant forming & reforming of triangles on the floor.

      We had a change aig scheme forced down on the coach from out front office. Last two years we were a defensive minded team. This year we wanted to run pace and space and shoot more threes and we lost our focus on the defensive side. Injuries and free throws have really killed our seaon too.

    this was great Coach Nick!Please do more of this maybe for the 2019 version? Also do you know of any colleges that run the triangle regularly if not solely? Do see it a an offense that would translate to sweet sixteen and beyond success for a college team? Would it lend to the probability of upsetting a higher seed team with it's effectiveness? would you see a 16seed beating a 1 seed and making a run to at least tje Sweet 16 or better? Inquiring Minds want to know!

  • @armin38822

    I run this automaticlly with comibantion of many other things. I've played for so many hours that I just see the openings and once my player without the ball runs into a certain place I know where I have to go with the ball so other guys will move into the direction I want them to go and it will open up a lay up,a 3 pointer,a miss match in the low post etc... something good will happen. Is much better that way then to actually run plays. You can run plays very spontaneously you just have to play a lot and it also helps if you watch or play basketball. But you have to be carefull not to over complicate things. I've learned to always go with the most simple option I have and if it doesn't work I keep openin up other layers of offense.

    I'm playing a pawn shop physical copy of 2k18, drafted by the Knicks (Phil's was fired that summer, Kyrie is on the cover as a Cav despite being traded to the Celts) and the default offense is a facsimile of the Triangle. I lead the NBA in 3pt field goal percentage at .550, Tim Hardaway is second at .544 and Kristaps Porzingas is a .470 3pt shot. If the spacing is adjusted properly the triangle can be a deadly effecient offense in the modern NBA.

    H'mm well Coach Nick if the triangle is such a good offense that produces quality shots why is the Knicks offense so horrendous, 24th in offensive efficiency. And it's not like the Knicks are playing only bums, Melo is an all star, Rolo is good, KP is good, AA and Calderon are decent veterans. They aren't making a good case that the triangle can succeed in the modern NBA.

    • @jeebs9
      @jeebs9 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      In its old form maybe. But if you watch the Warriors. They are running the triangle. some of main staples are run in their offense. Throwing it in the post and then cutting. It's the reason why they are so good. Most 3 point shooting teams don't score easy buckets like they do off their cuts and ball movement.

    • @janzen255
      @janzen255 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Which is very impressive, but triple doubles don't win you the MVP. I'll admit, he's a definite contender, but what he lacks is execution in crunch time. Idk the exact stats, but from what I've watched, it looks like he gets bottled up within the last 2 minutes of the fourth. Not to mention, on a team that already has a huge powerhouse scorer, he sure ain't gonna be able to come into his own. He's improved every year, so maybe next year he'll get MVP.

    • @aliquewilliams3080
      @aliquewilliams3080 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      kay nine No they do not. They run one or a few (I've only seen one) actions that come from the triangle, like the split action following the post entry, but it's a huge step to then conclude they run "a variation of the triangle" offense.
      The triangle operates primarily out of the high-post and mid-range. The Warriors do not. Many teams run actions from different offensive systems. That doesn't mean they're variations of them. Warriors offensive is very different than the triangle.
