I would love to see a Time Crisis collection arcade set. Time Crisis 1-3 plus the Crisis Zone would be an awesome compilation. And to have the option of linking 2 cabinets together for that perfect multiplayer experience would be sweet!!!
Don’t count on Midway Vegas (or whatever 3dfx-based arcade system it used) emulation on the cheap SoCs A1UP use, considering it’s still intensive even on higher end PC CPUs. Probably have to roll your own using a PC for that.
Wow Bee, that was a thorough review. Great work, really appreciate the effort and time spent. I’m going to wait for a sale and a video on how to put in a bigger monitor before purchasing.
Great looking cab but 750 is too much for only 17 inch monitor. I'm happy Arcade1Up is listening to us but I dont fully think they hear us and at this point why I didn't see light up coin doors. The company always take one step forward and two steps back I don't get it. This should have been an XL cab.
Good review Bee, I’ve enjoyed your week of TC videos, as for price I’m in Australia so I’m used to overpriced A1UPs from when I’ve imported cabs, to the Aussie retail priced ones but once I have them in my house I don’t sit there dwelling on the price I’m just enjoying playing games and seeing my family and friends also enjoying them. The Australians technically are only paying 727 USD (without all of the taxes that you benefit from) for the cabinet , "free" stuff isn't free the money has to come from somewhere.
Man if it had lethal enforcers, I'd be so down. I've still never modded one of my 1ups, but to have a light gun machine with the games i want... That's tempting. It's a pretty cab, too.

Hi Kong, love your content. Please would you consider doing a detailed step by step video on how to do the trigger mod for people who are not great at modding?
friendly reminder: you can buy time crisis with the point blank / gunvari collection for PS2j for like 11 dollars - gun bullet, gun barrel, and gunballina with time crisis that’s ALL 3 POINT BLANK GAMES
But to get an arcade experience youd have to build yourself a cab for the setup you're referring to and it will run you a couple hundred anyway. Then theres also attempting to source a ps2
In my opinion, for home use, the PS1 ports of all those games are better than the PS2 Gunvari Collection. I own all the PS1 TCs and PBs as well as the Gunvari Collection on PS2 and I prefer the play/performance of the PS1 versions.
Nice full review covering alot of things and giving some suggestions. My main gripe when 1up releases a new product is they either dont have the machine on hand when doing the reveal or if they do its never on and nobody is showing us gameplay , features and whatnot. This gives ppl a really good idea on what they can expect if they wanna grab it. Im not getting this because of the price and screen size , i cant justify buying a shooter with such a small screen but when they make an xl shooter i will probably grab 1 because i do want a shooter in my collection.
Excellent, fully detailed, honest, well thought review! This cab isn't for me, never was big on any of the games offered. But still hoping for Virtua Cop / Virtua Cop 2 / House of the Dead 1-4, Ghost Squad..... And maybe Carnevil later :)
Everyone should also remember these go on sale once the season ends I picked up simpsons arcade for $199 and T2 can be had for 399 or cheaper when websites have clearance. This seems like a good pickup when it gets cheaper
Besides the obvious shortcomings of the cab, there is one feature I wish A1U would add: the ability to set credits limit. Having it set to free play is great, but being able to play through with a limited amount of credits adds a little challenge, I feel.
That sounds like a cool option, would be nice to add, but that's a custom feature that wasn't in the original arcade. Would be cool to see a 1 quarter challenge tho for leaderboards
Looks like I'll have to settle for playing the shooters on emulated 40" screens. With my vision, a 17" is too small to see, as far back as you have to stand, to play it. Would definitely have been nice if they raised the coin door. Maybe they could've placed the logo on the bit that juts out. Thanks for the video.
Hope they make a deluxe version with a big screen, TC1, TC2, Gunvari (Point Blank) 1, 2, 3. I’d happily pay $2k for one (a real TC2 cab is like $5k + freight).
It look ok , but is it the same cheap material as the rest of arcade1 up ? Does it come with 1 or 2 pedals ? For only 4 games I’m debating to pre order this one or get pandora 10 box with guns and pedals
Sound was just ok, IMO. Got distorted at high levels and wasn't as crisp as their other pac man Deluxe cabs. Sound upgrades are a good option for audiophiles, but most casual folks won't mind the stock levels
Great review "B" thanks for being honest. Unless the can come up with solution to the guns like replacing them with something equivalent to the guns on T2 it's a No for me.
Hey Bee 🐝 I saw that the guy in Australia that got the time crisis cab thought the sound was Tinny ……your thoughts ? Point Blank 1,2 and 3 are working with MAME right ? For a possible mod one day ?
8:30 - Timed Game is mentioned twice. First time should be Story Game (start at Stage 1, the story unfolds). Another nitpick (more of an annoyance) is that the secondary button (for the non-Time Crisis games) is on one side only, making it awkward for left-handed shooters (like yours truly). This is 2023, not 1983.
price a little rich - but what would an equivalent cost be if I wanted an arcade accurate point blank collection? sinden+emulator etc a few hundred even if single player only
Hey Bee, great video. What do you think about modding the recoil mechanism with an actual solenoid to activate it? Do you think that is a doable and worthwhile mod?
I'm not sure there would be a good way to add a real Solenoid inside and have it powered and working via software. Even RPEG Electronics, gun modding master said adding a Solenoid wouldn't be feasible
Using Sinden Lightguns together with Mame on a standard television provides the better effect at a significantly cheaper price. This screen is MUCH to small. So, only for collectors, I think...
A future mod idea. Using the good quality sinden pedal with this TC cab. Pedal doesn’t work with my batocera build. Got one but haven’t been able to use it for time crisis 1 yet. Sinden pedal does work with Teknoparrot. Any ideas are welcome :)
I actually think the pedal on this is really good and better looking than the sinden pedal. It's just a microswitch inside so don't see any performance issues that would need an upgrade
I wonder if you hook up the ROM module up to the T2 machine if that would work (much like TMNT and Simpsons work together). If so, I'd gladly buy one used someday and allow it so I can swap it.
are the lightguns compatible with the sinden drivers and software? and the pedal? kinda a deal sealer for me if i can stick a pc with lots of games inside
are those.. alps switches? that's kinda cool!.. but the manual recoil thing would add trigger weight? the triggers (at least from memory on a TC2 machine) were incredibly light for ease of rapid fire? but man, I'm bummed that no-one has worked out a true successor to CRT light guns, if it isn't instantaneous I can't say I'm particularly interested :(
There's definitely trigger weight due to the manual recoil. Original guns were light triggers with solenoids activated thru software. You could get a Sinden which is the most accessible light gun on the market that has recoil and decent accuracy

@@KongsRUs oh yeah I meant the time crisis that’s included plus all the point blank games 1,2,and 3😄 As far as the pedal goes I think I’ve seen in other pics and videos that it has a little spot at the bottom of the cab where you can put it. Maybe with the light gun tech you have to pull it out for some people to be able to get far enough away from the screen🤷♂️ overall it looks like a cool cab to own but man the price is so crazy.
Just wondering with the Sinden tech, would a white vinyl border stuck round the edge of the screen work instead of having the border on the screen itself? Would free up a bit more screen real estate. Either way they should have definitely gone with at least a 19" monitor that should be the minimum for any shooter cab. Nice review bee
Definitely not worth 700, more like 500 bucks, I really don't think it's all of that as the screen is way to small, but the height is decent ....Personal I think Arcade 1nup needs to do better with the screen size, making it a 20 inch
I have a question. I have scores over the 5000 requirement on the local leaderboards for PB but I don’t appear on the leaderboard. I’m wondering why. Any idea ?
I hope it will be available in Europe. Arcade1up sucks as exporters... we have barely 8 models here.. there's so many missing and impossible to buy for the right price (importing is a suicide and will cost 3x the real price of the cab itself)
I gotta say, the guns being index finger powered recoil is the biggest flop of this cabinet. Why would I want a tired finger after such little game play
What if Arcade 1up should remaster Idolm@ster arcade, because all people haven’t tried the Idolm@ster arcade game that has visual novel stories and idol testing so new Idolm@ster fans should try this original game after Namco localized it for glory throughtout the world.
I used to able to 1-life this game in the arcade with a time of 10:04 and that cursor delay would make this game unplayable to play properly, it looks pretty bad if I’m being honest. The whole point of the game is to kill enemies as fast as you can but with a laggy cursor you’d miss the enemy cycle and would have to wait for them to come out of cover again. I dunno man, this is terrible.
The cursor drag is only noticeable on the menu and doesn't actually perform that way in game. Sinden Light Gun tech is one of the most accurate home light gun systems out there so it performs just as well IMO. But won't ever be as good and accurate as original CRT lightgun experience
People would have been more open to buying for 750 if it came with all 5 or 6 time crisis games not sure how many it is but to have the peddle for just the one game that kind of sucks . I do like point blank but no so in to the other game which there are two of
mate steel gunner and games like t2 alien arcade are positional guns they have drag on every light gun nothing to do with arcade 1up, go try them with your gun4ir or sinden with crosshairs on.
The reason why Steelgunner Games are "dragging" is because they werent pure lightgun games - this were turret games which used analog axis. same as T2 for example. Dont know why they exactly included this games to this Cabinet the "mechanical recoil" is also quite dissappointing at that pricepoint ... Think even my wiimote setup is more comfortable for games where you can calibrate the guns in MAME
For 750, it should have had time crisis 2 and point blank 2 as well.
It’s been mentioned that the board here simply isn’t powerful enough for TC2, but Point Blank 2 definitely should have been!
Wish point blank 2 was on here as well
Time Crisis 2 is on very different hardware. There's a reason why TC1's home port was PS1 but the PS1 simply couldn't do TC2.
AGREED!!!
Point blank 2 deserves its own cab the art is to die for

Either way they should have definitely gone with at least a 19" monitor that should be the minimum for any shooter cab. Nice review bee
nope ive tried this didnt work for me so made gun4ir instead
As mentioned, it needs to be lit on the monitor for the sinden camera to pick it up properly. Lighting plays a big factor in sinden performance
Great review. Thanks.
I want house of the dead 1 2 and 3 ! Why is that not a thing lol
Any way to add in the other point blank games?!
Not onto the stock PCB. You'd have to mod with a PC and different guns to add more light gun games
Not including Point Blank 2 is unforgivable. No doubt they'll have a model that has it
Point bank 2 should have been included . They might have pushed me to buy this cab.
Agree!
Definitely not worth 700, more like 500 bucks, I really don't think it's all of that as the screen is way to small, but the height is decent ....Personal I think Arcade 1nup needs to do better with the screen size, making it a 20 inch
I hope it goes on sale soon so more people can experience it. Agree this would be great as an XL cabinet with a 19" screen
I have a question. I have scores over the 5000 requirement on the local leaderboards for PB but I don’t appear on the leaderboard. I’m wondering why. Any idea ?
Not sure but I'd recommend putting in a ticket to check!
@@KongsRUs already done ! Thx
why only point blank and not pb 2 and 3 too?
Are there any accuracy issues with the guns?
Guns use Sinden Light Gun tech which is one of the best accurate light gun systems on the market
I made my own arcade with TC1+TC2, PB1+PB2, with better guns and a better screen for the same price basically.
Great review Bee!!
Thanks phil!
I get drag and issues with my sinden gun even on an optimised pc system.
I hope they do a virtua cop/house of the dead version
That would be awesome if they got Sega Model 2 games working! HOTD and Virtua Cop would be great on the same cab.
So this cabinet runs on sinden, no need to buy already have a set of guns and a custom cab good to know
Maybe silly question but... if there´s only one pedal... how can 2 people play Time Crisis at the same time?
Time crisis 1 is a single player game. The dual guns are for other 2 player games on the cab
I assume there are local high scores as well ?
Hmmm, I didn't check in game, but there's online leaderboards
@@KongsRUs cool . Let me know if you can check ! Thx . No local leaderboards, no buy . I need those. I’m sure there are though .
It’s a shame they didn’t include TC2
TC2 was a dual screen game and ran on system23 hardware which this cab only has emulation up to system 22 so far
I hope it will be available in Europe. Arcade1up sucks as exporters... we have barely 8 models here.. there's so many missing and impossible to buy for the right price (importing is a suicide and will cost 3x the real price of the cab itself)
This is an international release, but pricing will still suck overseas
I gotta say, the guns being index finger powered recoil is the biggest flop of this cabinet. Why would I want a tired finger after such little game play
Shouldn't it have two pedals instead of one since it's a two player cabinet?
Time crisis 1 is a single player game. 2 guns are for the other 3 games
@@KongsRUs But there's plenty of room at the bottom for two pedals on 2 player shooters that require them. Missed opportunity.
This is the exact Arcade 1up cabinet I’ve been waiting for, but that price is rough!
What if Arcade 1up should remaster Idolm@ster arcade, because all people haven’t tried the Idolm@ster arcade game that has visual novel stories and idol testing so new Idolm@ster fans should try this original game after Namco localized it for glory throughtout the world.
Do they have House of the Dead series 1 to 3?
Not yet, those games are harder to run on the current chip set used in these cabinets
I do like point blank but no so in to the other game which there are two of
cool-recoil
I love this game but is it arcade perfect and not just the psone version and can you add games to it
It's arcade version for sure, and you cannot add games to the cab
17in screen they can duck it with that
screen seems kind of small, maybe thats just me
mate steel gunner and games like t2 alien arcade are positional guns they have drag on every light gun nothing to do with arcade 1up, go try them with your gun4ir or sinden with crosshairs on.
Bee knows this, even demonstrated the drag across both his own gun4ir build and the T2 A1U in this video.
@@nerdloftgaming clearly didn't know why though
The reason why Steelgunner Games are "dragging" is because they werent pure lightgun games - this were turret games which used analog axis. same as T2 for example. Dont know why they exactly included this games to this Cabinet
the "mechanical recoil" is also quite dissappointing at that pricepoint ...
Think even my wiimote setup is more comfortable for games where you can calibrate the guns in MAME
Looks like the Playstation version with the crosshair dragging across the screen. Wish it were more like the arcade.
Why does it not have 2 foot pedals for a 2 player game??
Time Crisis 1 is a single player game, future time crisis cabs
worried this will play more like a Wii game than an actual time crisis arcade game
I mastered the ps1 version. Game is worth the 749.
