Hurricane Caps off Solo Cruise! Oasis of the Seas Ep 4

#hurricanelee makes an impact as I finish up my first solo cruise aboard #oasisoftheseas as we head north from the #bahamas returning to #capeliberty.
First, I check out the new and improved #nassau Cruise Port which is the world’s fifth-largest passenger port.
The recent $300m renovation was designed to accommodate increased visitor numbers and enhance the visitor experience. The extended Pier allows additional docking for large cruise ships like oasis and new #iconclass ships. #iconoftheseas
As you make your way through the new port area you will see plenty of new shops and amenities including a new terminal building and the new #junkanoo Museum, which showcases #Bahamian culture and heritage.
There is still some construction going on and many of the shops are not quite open yet.
At the opposite end you’ll find the new #amphitheatre. If you know, what events will take place here please leave a comment.
Also down this end, there’s another exit to the street where you’ll be at the popular straw market and just a bit further is Senior Frogs.
Overall, the port simply looks so much better but whether it has a huge impact on your overall experience I think will depend what you plan for your time in Nassau.
During my last few days I check out #playmakers for the first time, return to the main dining room and dine at #giovannistable.
Entertainment included #cats the #musical, stand-up #comedians and more live music acts. I also took a trip on the #risingtide bar!
Then, to cap off this trip, things got a bit interesting as Hurricane Lee caused the most ship movement I've ever experienced due to the ocean #swells, closing the pools but making them quite something to see! Have you experienced this on any of your sailings? Does it make you nervous?

I loved this video as there are not many showing the solo cruising experience. I just returned last week from Anthem of the Seas cruise (12/3 departure) and the ocean was as still as a lake throughout the week. You were brave to book a cruise during hurricane season!

I cruised solo on this ship, but it left out of Miami in Nov '22. I am the type that stays under the radar and wants to do my definition of fun-alone.

What time were you able to get into MDR with My time dining? The earliest option its giving me is 7:30 and thats too late for us. ty

The advice I was given by the host was to arrive at 5:30-5:45 pm since that’s when they will fill the tables of no shows from the early dining time with those seeking “my time” dining. I did this a few times and got in by 6pm. Hope that helps!
