    Dont forget, the Wonder goes to Hawaii from Vancouver. So there are 4 straight sea days on a 10 day itinerary. Not to mention the beautiful sites of Hawaii and the islands. This was one of our favorite cruises!

    I only watched until the end of this Wish commercial because I thought y’all would turn it around and declare the Fantasy the winner. I’ve never been so tempted to yell NO-NO-NO at my phone before. The Wish is far inferior to the other four ships IMO based on how bad the adult pool and spa areas are. The quick service food options on the pool decks are great. But, the main dining rooms are inferior to the Dream class ships-and definitely harder to navigate for people in wheelchairs or who use walkers due to space constraints. Would I go on the Wish if it fit my dates? Sure. Would it ever be my first choice? Absolutely not.

    A very important factor with a cruise is whether the climate will allow you to enjoy outside surfaces: We were on the 11-day cruise on the smaller Magic from Dover, UK, through Norway and Iceland, and were not able to enjoy pools, et al., on account of freezing temps. It magnified the issue of dwindling real estate aboard that ship.

    The magic is awesome! It shouldn’t be looked down upon for being the oldest. The wish also doesn’t get good feedback because of the layout. I would put the magic and fantasy on top.

    @amyexcell7903 ปีที่แล้ว +42

    Wow, I’m usually with you on your reviews AJ but I can’t agree on the choice of Disney Wish as Best Adult Ship. Yes, the lounges are great and if you want to pay for dining upgrades the restaurants are really good, but the adult pool space is a nightmare! It is ridiculously small, with no true pool or full sized hot tub, let alone a decent sized bar area. It feels like an afterthought and is really insulting to frequent adult Disney cruisers. Every other ship has a better adult space. If that area matters to you, I recommend avoiding the (otherwise gorgeous!) Wish.

    • @car_tar3882
      @car_tar3882 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Plus the all ages spaces are so godawful as a teen I found myself bored for most of the day which never happened on the other ships the wish and treasure should be scrapped or receive major refits bringing back more timeless themes and fixing all the youth and adult areas otherwise the whole cruise line will flounder

  • @angd4268
    @angd4268 ปีที่แล้ว +34

    While the Wish has some great lounges, I don't love that they are not separated like they are on the other ships, so you do find that they can be filled with children at times. During our sailing we found that many parents were confused as to when these locations were adult only. I felt like the Wish was not a great ship for an adult only sailing. We did a sailing on the Wish with 4 adults and definitely missed the separation you feel on the other ships. We didn't like the Cove area on the Wish nor the fact that there was not a separate area that was away from children. Yes I know it's a Disney Cruise and there are going to be children, but on the other ships you have areas that after a certain time become adult only. The Wish really doesn't have that. Many adults we ran into noted they missed that. It is a beautiful ship but my vote for the best ship for an adult only sailing would be the Magic or maybe Fantasy.

    So far, I've only been on two of their ships; the Disney Wonder in 2003 and the Disney Magic in 2006. I don't think there was that much difference between the two ships, but my experience on the Magic felt better, so I'd have to pick that one if I had to choose.

    • @YODAddyLIVE

      The ships go in age older to newest: Magic, Wonder, Dream, Fantasy where they are sister ships 1&2/3&4. The Wish is of course the newest and will have its sister ship the Treasure setting sail next year with a 3rd still to be named ship. So, the similarity in layout is to be expected when. comparing ships.
      FYI: There is a new ship that DCL purchased that is yet to be given a proper Disney name that stands on its own.

      My family is in the very early planning stages of our first ever Disney Cruise… Since we live in San Diego area; I think the Wonder is our best choice for our first time… I think the Magic might also sail from this port, but with itineraries changing because of new & upcoming ships, we might just be concentrating on the Wonder… a few days onboard, with stops at Catalina Island & Ensenada. We’re also need to plan for accessible stateroom because I will be using a wheelchair or ECV scooter because of the mobility issues due to my disability. I’ve heard not such great things regarding accessibility on the Disney Wonder; and only 2 elevator banks; & not 3.

    After taking these ships for numerous years as well as watching this channel, gotta say y'all did not hit it on the nail this time. Yea the wish is cool for it's new features, restaurants, etc, it doesn't compare with any of the other ships at all. It's itinerary is pretty standard compared to everything else around and it's only 4 days. I gotta say the dream and fantasy are most definitely the best. In fact, when building those ships, they kept the layout similar to the magic and wonder because of how well it worked. With the wish, they sorta threw all of that out. Lastly, I got complaints about the adult area and teen lounges cuz #1 the adult area on the fantasy has a lot more shade and space, and #2 the sheer size of vibe on the fantasy and dream make it incredibly fun for teenagers. Also the small added touch of a smoothie bar and plunge pool are so nice. Also, the rotating dining restaurants on that class of ships are way more intriguing than the ones on the wish, especially animator's palate. Overall all the ships are good, but also have become more and more pricy

      In regard to US only sailings: They pretty much stopped all covid related testing or requirements a few months ago ( I want to say around Oct or Nov 22'). You no longer have to test at the port or provide proof of vaccination. For cruises to and in Europe or Australia the rules are very different so you would have to be a bit more specific on the itinerary. But that all being said if you go to the DCL site and choose an itinerary that requires any covid testing they will provide a link showing you the requirements.

    I could not disagree more with the ranking of the Wish for Adult only cruises. The ONLY thing I'd rank the Wish high on for adults is the Rainforest Room. The lack of an evening area for adults only was painfully felt. There are more bars but kids walk through the areas with bars CONSTANTLY. Match your Mate was uncomfortable with kids actively walking through and with family targeted events scheduled in the Triton Lounge next door which guaranteed a steady flow of kids. Plus although they did improve the adult lounge deck by having seating that overlooked funnel vision and positioning it so that kids weren't constantly cutting through to the elevators, the adult area was vastly cut back compared to other ships - the pool is so small it was constantly overcrowded a problem I've never seen happen on the other ships and they cut back to one hot tub meaning it was always uncomfortably overcrowded and it was pretty much never available. I really feel like the Wish was only designed with the family experience in mind and the adult experience wasn't considered at all. There are some things I like about the Wish - its beautiful and the addition of the barbeque and cantina areas on the sun deck were very nice - its just that I would NEVER look at it as an adult-only option. I'll add that we have been on all 5 ships, and the Wish ranks last in everything except variety of table service restaurants for me (I did NOT like Marceline Market at all).

    Hearing the opposite for the adult segment when it comes to Wish. Between the spaced out and not always closed off bars and the adults only pool area built under the drips of the waterslide, next to the sound effects, and over all so tiny in actual pool space they appear to be an after thought which is quickly over run. A quick glance at the comments sections shows the same views. Adult only solo/groups were clearly an afterthought that was badly shoehorned in.

    Go everywhere? Their limited itineraries and really high costs are the main reason we branched out to other lines after many DCL trips. DCL was our favorite line for many years, but some things we figured out...Alaska is about scenery and wildlife. We did 2 weeks in the smallest suite on Princess for half the price of 1 week on the Wonder in a balcony cabin. DCL does't do anything in Asia. The positive is that DCL has the best entertainment we've seen on any line. We've seen the food go up and down several times thru the years. Which DCL ship is best? That really depends on what you want. We prefer the Magic because we like the size of the ship and number of guests--it isn't a huge place to navigate. We try to cruise "off season" when there are fewer school age kids on board, but we also find that absence of more advanced water slides, roller coasters, etc. tend to attract fewer tweens and teens. Younger kids are either in the programming, nursery, or with parents. The ones that are problems in terms of running halls, stealing from host carts, trashing beverage stations, etc. are older, and the Magic and Wonder have fewer of those!

    I have sailed on every ship but the Magic, and could not disagree with putting the Wish as number 1 more. The ship is too cut up and the MDRs too far apart to accommodate diners like they could on other ships. Adult pool areas are too small and overcrowded. The only saving grace was the Wish's Rainforest, but a couple has to shell out 400 sheckles on a four day cruise to have that option. Arandelle is entirely too loud. And come on, DBF, those letters still stand for Disney Food Blog, right? And y'all didn't pick up on that stuff that Mickey's Smokeshack was serving and calling barbecue brisket was just PASTRAMI? I mean, I like PASTRAMI, but it is not what any self respecting barbecue man would call barbecue. And the greens were an affront to all barbecue sides. Any less cooked, and you could put salad dressing on them. I am a Fantasy guy all the way. Don't know why DCL departed from such a good formula. Probably because Millenial and Gen Z parents haven't figured out that kids don't belong in adult areas. Even in the Keg and Compass, you cannot be shielded from bad kid karaoke coming from Lunas.

    I’ve been on every single DCL ship besides the Wonder and I have to say that the Wish is without a doubt the worst ship in the fleet by far. They crammed way too many things into the Wish’s layout. The pool deck is horrible with way too many tiny pools scattered around, Marceline Market is WAY worse that Cabanas on the other 4 ships, There’s way too many bars scattered around the ship and no one is ever there serving drinks. The Magic and Wonder had such a simple and easy to navigate layout and Disney saw this so they made the Dream and Fantasy’s layout simple as well. Disney lost their minds when making the Wish. The only good thing I can say about the Wish is the Main dining room restaurants. The food was surprisingly good! But that doesn’t substitute for all the other cons about the ship. I believe the Wish would be a good ship for the little ones, but if you have teens and tweens, look more towards the Dream and Fantasy since the teen and tweens spaces on the Wish are cool but not great whatsoever. Honestly it’s just a main preference based on itinerary and who you’re sailing with but I think the most diverse ships for everyone would be the Dream and Fantasy. Don’t pay extra to sail on the Wish.

    I have to agree with the others who dislike the Wish. We have been on all the ships many times and definitely feel the Fantasy is best. The Wish was extremely disappointing. Service & shows were not up to par. The ship did not have good nightclubs like all the other ships in their line. And the most disappointing adult area ever. An afterthought crammed into back of ship with a tiny pool and very few shady areas. So crowded too with only small elevators on Aft and Forward no midship. The Magic and Wonder are both more beautiful ships even at their age than the bland Wish. There was not much to do on this ship either considering how big it was. I guess it’s just about packing people on for the $$$. We will sail on the Fantasy again but never ever on the Wish.

    I was just on the Wish and I 100 percent disagree on it being good for adults. I thougth the adult deck was terribly designed with a small pool that could easily fill up. Plus if you have mobility issues forget about getting in that pool easily wtih the ladders. The hot tub is also right next to the aqua mouse so I hope you enjoy hearing mickey and minnie every 30 seconds or so while trying to relax. The adult deck is seriously terrible. Much preffered the decks on the Dream and Fantasy.

  • @RobStevens64
    @RobStevens64 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Can't disagree more about the Wish. We've been on the Dream two times now, the Wonder once, and the Wish once. I wanted to love the Wish, and there were a lot of great things about it (pool deck food was GREAT). But the layout of the ship is just plain weird, and the space is so poorly optimized, I honestly wonder if these Imagineers were trying to be different just for the sake of being different. For example, it makes absolutely no sense for HyperSpace Lounge to be so small given what a draw it is, nor should it be on the outside edge of the ship when it doesn't have actual windows. There's some corridors on the ship that dead end. There isn't a single deck that has a contiguous promenade that doesn't have stairs. I could go on and on. Lots to love on that ship, but sailing on it was more annoying in places than it should have been. The problem is so many of those annoyances are due to layout and I don't know how much of that can be changed later. Will be interesting to see what they do with the Treasure.

    The Wish was horrible and I booked a B2B . The food selection . The elevators were small and what the deal about the 1-13 elevator. You push the up button and all the other elevators open. You have to take 1-12 and switch to 13. Plus they are so small along with the halls
    my husband couldn’t get around on a scooter. Especially when the host or hostess are cleaning out the room. Everything is in the hall. The adult section is in no way comparable to the Fantasy or Dream. No shade and they don’t put out towel or leave them on them on top on the top of the bin. You have to figure this out and reach in and get them. No one was walking around for drink orders.
    The only positives are the waitstaff and Hostess . I saw several from the Dream when we sailed In February and they remembered me.
    As the other reviewer said No !No ! No ! I would rank it last.

    I love you guys but after watching this video I seriously doubt your judgment, The Wish is by far Disney's worst ship. To say it has more food choices than the other four ships is so wrong in my experience--the only thing better than the other ships is the the BBQ location (if you can survive the sauna of the closed-off Deck 11). And the buffet (we really disliked Marceline Market) and the MDRs are a crowded, cramped and tight. I've never had so many lines on any ship. And the Marvel show is boring and so disappointing. After cruising on the Wish, i began to doubt my desire for any entertainment in the MDR. After we left the Marvel restaurant to just wanted peace and quiet. 1923 is so crowded with very little space between tables that you feel like you are sitting in your neighbors laps and you can't walk around to appreciate the details of the decor. How can it be best for Adults when the Quiet Cove was an absolute after-thought. After cruising the Wish, I began to doubt my absolute fanaticism about DCL. So much so that I've canceled DCL cruises and rescheduled to other luxury lines and I'm Platinum. The Wish as some beautiful detail but for the most part it looks cheap (loads of wallpaper instead of high end wood); dollar store cheap picture frames in staircases. The Fantasy and Wonder are AMAZING ships. The Dream and Magic are close behind. DCL tried to too much with the Wish and failed badly in our opinion (ex. Aquamouse v. Aquaduck)--not surprising when the person in charge of the designing the ship for Disney had never taken a cruise before. It is so obvious to a huge DCL fans. For those of us that love DCL for the classic cruise experience with a twist, they is completely missing from the Wish. Still love you guys, but you got this completely wrong this time IMHO.

When they had Elsa come out and she was black all the kids around me and my own kid said who’s that else no black.
