@@stewyyishimif they made a movie with A24 then its pretty big and makes sense to do a movie podcast. Their TH-cam videos had excellent action and VFX 😅
Please support this film. With your wallets if you can, going to the theater or buying on streaming, signal boosting by word of mouth if you can’t. We need more like this!
This movie is so great I wish Chris did a formal review to help put more eyes on it. One of the most surprising blind watches I’ve seen in a while. I was glued to the screen.
Really disappointing he didn't review it, especially considering how much he loves horror and indie (a24). Maybe for his October scary movie reviews? Still upsetting that he let it pass from the cinemas without review. His viewership could have benefited from being told this movie exists!
I’m not gonna hold it against him or anything, he’s a busy guy that doesn’t prioritize reviewing movies anymore, but if any new horror deserved a full review this year it’s definitely Talk to Me.
I’m actually kinda surprised you haven’t done a full review of Talk to Me yet (and I don’t think I’m alone on that one). But I agree, it really is excellent and one of the better films I’ve seen this year, and I’m glad you’re getting to talk to this guy! He and his brother seem awesome in person!
Like you Chris, Danny and Michael Philippou are two of my big inspirations for wanting to make films. They exemplify what it means to "go and make something and showcase it to the world" especially for TH-cam. I've been following them since near when they began making their videos and man what a journey it has been. For them it's about passion and I think this is something I hope to take with me. Be passionate about what you make and don't just stop there. Make sure you are passionate about it in every corner whether that be when making it, promoting it and then talking about in interviews or to even the extent of podcasts like this one here. Great job getting them on Chris!
Just saw Talk To Me today and i really loved it! My favorite of the year for sure. Can't wait for the sequel too! This was a great conversation, I hope that both of you will continue to have great success in your filmmaking journeys!
Danny and Michael are talented filmmakers that have been making content since 9. Anyone that wants to be filmmakers should take that to heart, just keep making stuff, just start where you're at no matter how old you are, and keep going. I'm happy that they already signed on for a sequel for Talk To Me!
This has much more substance than simply providing a review. I love this podcast series. It's one thing to praise a movie, it is another (imo better) thing to praise the filmmakers and speak with them!!!!
Thank you so much for this interview. Chris, we’re waiting for your review of this movie. PD: and now that we’re here, I’m still waiting for your Suspiria 2018 review as well.
I know Michael was super specific on the sound design and score but HOLY SHIT IT WAS WORTH IT!!!! And really appreicate the focus on australian artists!! ❤
I was really hoping you'd have one or both of the Philippou's on the pod - I just know this film would be right up your alley and it's cool to see you both supporting each other!
Listened to this in the car on the way to my own shoot today and it felt good hearing stories from these two. Excited to finally get time to go see this movie and still waiting with anticipation for Stuckmann’s!
I had absolutely no idea that the guys behind RackaRacka made this film. That's incredible to see them get an opportunity like this. I can't wait to see what they're going to make in the future.
It’s pretty cool to hear you guys share inside stories of the movie-making process. I saw Talk to Me last night and can’t have enough of the Phillippou brothers talking and getting super excited about their movie. Can’t wait for Chris Stuckmann to live that experience soon, hope his movie has a release in here in México 🤞
Just when I was thinking how come Chris has not talked about Talk to Me, here he is interviewing the director of the movie. You guys are awesome @Therackaracka - have been a fan since the Mortal Kombat video.
I love the modern trend in horror where the characters are more than bags of guts and blood and actually have hopes and dreams and motivations and sometimes even-gasp-arcs! Talk to Me wasn't groundbreaking, but it was hella cool and enjoyable. Feels like it would be right at home in the Control and SCP universes too, which I love :D
I love how Chris celebrates and champions an indie horror film made by TH-camrs, that’s picked up by A24 and has main characters with the same names as his in Shelby Oaks. He really checks his ego and supports the cause!
Honestly, I feel this film puts Chris into a lot of pressure because of how much praise Talk to Me has received & it will be interesting to see if christuckman can deliver
best horror in years. that scene when the kid tried it, was out of this world... actually had a few people leave the movietheatre. And i know for sure it wasnt because they thought is was bad. but because that scene hit you like a truck on rocketfuel. cant wait to see what their next project is.
I really hope Talk to Me does VERY well. It trickles down, so if Talk to Me is a huge success, then that will boost up projects that other passionate, hard working TH-camrs have going on too.
Since Day One, I check Spotify to see if Chris has a new episode of Pre-Production. For sure the poor guy is pushed beyond his threshold with the twins, filming reviews, Shelby Oaks, and then a podcast to throw in… but, damn, I love those podcasts. As a filmmaker, I hear myself in all of his guests. Makes you realize the difference between making it and struggling is just one little stroke of luck in your direction sometimes. Anyways, thank you, Chris. I listened to your film reviews for ten years while stuck in LA traffic. It felt like I was listening to a friend talk to me about a new movie they watched. And most of the time we agree on your opinion, and sometimes I’d be like “Oh, hell no!” Haha!
This interview was amazing. Danny has such interesting stories to share but his humility and dependence on having a good team and listening to honest feedback really shines through everything he said.
This is definitely a good movie. The characters can come off as a bit much as people, but the story and everything happens is super entertaining and well done. Most of the actors do a really good job too.
I really wish I could have supported this film in a theatre, but I just can't bring myself to see a horror movie in a theatre. After having seen it on netflix though I must say it was a masterpiece. Seriously for a debut feature I could not tell and I was floored by how original and entertaining it was. One of my favourite horror movies of all time now easily.
As someone said in another comment: Stuckman’s reviews get more views. If you’re inclined to assign malice, he’s giving them a treatment that will get fewer eyes on the movie.
Well i know this movie is an easy 4k bluray buy for me, they did the aussie film industry freaking proud, this was a brilliant film cant wait for anything else they do next, i feel like they were very much the aussie tarrentinos and honestly they are brilliant
"Talk To Me" was horror kavair! It's clearly inspired by an array of films from the genre and accomplishes what every other demonic possession film has been attempting to since the likes of The Excorsist or Hereditary, with undertones of A Nightmare On Elm Street and Pet Sematary shining through but still remaining completely original in it's entirety, masterclass filmmaking with a well rounded message but one that we've seen far too often which bogged it down a bit for me and the only unique take on such a message was how it was manifested through the hand and conveyed. (4.5/5)
Movie is so good. The last horror movie that struck me like this was It Follows. Had most of the typical horror movie tropes but still stood out. I don't know enough about movie making to know why hah but both movies stuck with me and I'd put both on my top 10 of the last 10 years
Never thought id see the day, where chris stuckmann and rackaracka do a podcast together 😂
most random collab

What’s better than a Talk to Me review? An interview with one of the directors themselves of course!
@frizzyfuzz101well he can't control what his subscribers watch, but I think it's really cool that 2 youtubers/directors now, had a podcast together
All those people who were accusing Chris of being jealous of Danny & Michael for their success of Talk to Me, please shut your damn mouth.
Who was accusing him of that?
@@AlasdairGRliterally everybody in the previous reviews.
He still didn’t give it a spotlight and review it though, so.. lol.
