The super 10 sounds the best out of those 4. I personally am in love with my setup. I have a 95 k1500 extended cab short bed, took the converters out and im running a customized 40 series single in dual out with 3.5" angle tips turned out at an angle at each rear bed corner. The 40 series was cut in half and the rear dual outlet plate was cut off and welded back onto the front half. Basically it's the front half of a 40 series and welded the dual outlet end plate back on it. Its a little louder than I wanted but it has a really nice sound to me. I have access to a muffler shop and tried several different used mufflers before I came up with the idea to cut a 40 in half. Since then I've done a couple for friends some from front half of a 40 and some from rear half. Mt favorite is the front half of the 40 series. Oh yeah, all of them I've cut were used mufflers that were taken off for rattles due to broken baffles, I just weld them back while I'm in it.
Onboard GoPro or something similar will help the drive off sound. During windy conditions on your phone/camera or any recording device, a quick tip is to use a a regular dish wash pad like Scotch. Just the yellow scrubber laid over the mic. It’ll remove wind noise and keep most of the sound. I love these videos, evertime I need a sound clip I find your shop! Love it!
On the pre-93 (I think) trucks, they use that big pellet style converter, which is what keeps it quiet even with no muffler. I always pop the plugs out and drain/remove the pellets, tack the plugs back in and they flow and sound much better. You probably won't pass emissions if you have it, but it'll pass a visual inspection.
@@javy2238 Depends on what it has now, but deleting the converter is my first go-to. Like I said the old bead-style converter is restrictive (a little less-so with all the beads drained out the plugs but still not good) and carbureted engines will at some point run rich and eventually clog up whatever converter you run, so I would never run a converter with a carb unless I absolutely had to for whatever reason.
@@javy2238 Depends, do you want mild, moderate, loud, obnoxious? I have appoint at 10am to install Flowmaster 40 series on my 98 C/K 1500 vortec 5.0 . No cats
The super 10 is the best one 🤙
I put free flowing Magnaflow Cats along with a Magnaflow muffler into two tips by the back bumper it sounds good oh the Cats made it flow super good.
How much is a Magnaflow cat. I need just 1 on my 305 G10 but.already have dual exhaust from the muffler on out. Kalifornicas emissions regs suck. But I don't miss the 1960s Smog...
The last one was fire!!!
The last one though 🔥🔥
I like the last truck 👍
How loud was the red stepside though? I have the same one but an '89, don't want one that's too loud but has that deeper sound. Right now mine sounds kinda like a woosh lol. Also what price would I be looking at
That depends on if you keep it stock up front the 97 and older have a very restrictive 2 in single out system if you keep that and cut the cats replace the stock muffler it will be noticeable without being too much louder or over the top if you go away with that and dual it back you want to make sure you use an x pipe with a muffler for each exit price anywhere from 200 to 500 depending on where you live
what would you recommend for a 58 apache step side
40 series always has sounded best to me but can drone is ridiculous. How's the super 10 as far as cab drone? I have 40s on my 94 Cheyenne and thinking of changing.
Love the sound of the black one only thing I didn't like was the placement of the pipes on the back
Does the red step side with 40 series have a cat delete?
Would like to hear those 40 s with headers in front of them
How’s the drone in the cab with the super 10?? Sounds sweet
My 5.3 has a flowmaster 40 on it but it's only single. It has a good sound but it's not as loud as I'd like it. I'll be doing dual exhaust pretty soon but I'm not sure what mufflers I'll be going with yet.
I have a 3" flowmaster 40 with a cat delete, and long tube headers it sounds just like that red one
Which one will drone the least or have no drone?
Thanks, need to get some of this on my 96 Suburban!!
The good ol super 10
Anybody know where I can find those wheels the blue truck at5:00_5:07 has ? Really clean
The last one is my favorite
can i delete my cat with the flowmaster 40 series without having issues. and i live in a state that doesn't require them?
That stepside made my feel goods feel good
Super 10 wins it again. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks for the video.
It gives me some ideas about what to do with my '96. It has a 350 and a 5 speed transmission.
That's cool. I have a 96 with a manual transmission.
96 manual as well. I love it
Cant fined much on a 7.4 454 for mods, any ideas besides air intake an full exhaust it's in a 1993 suburban looking for a little more fit up an go to get out of the way of semis 😏
To install the same exact deal and setup on the Flowmaster super 10 on my 95 GMC Sierra 350 tbi would cost how much?
