@@JonathanMillerMusic but what if ur a complete beginner like me, i've been singing for 3 years behind my parents back so i can't actually sing loudly and let it all out but when my parents are out i start singing and letting it all out, idk if im good at singing i hear myself decent and my brother tells me im not so bad but i wanna try making a song and show my parents that they should have been supportive since they never aloud me to sing, but my problem is every time i get in these apps i don't know what to do and its so complicated and that's just the singing part and now what about the music part i really want a private lesson

Thank you you answered a lot of questions I had...I just need to double check..
Let's say I've written many songs in my life and have the melodies also .I written blues , tear in your beer country, hard and soft rock and rap songs along with of coarse little ditties.
Fear kept me from putting them out there. The one time I did was the greatest experience in my life . Though it was in a holding tank in l.b.ca.waiting to go to court it all fell together perfectly.
Going back and forth everyday on the county bus only to be told it's a dry run was getting to me just sitting from dark thirty in the morning till dark.
One morning I awoke remembering a song I had written some years back in prison and it wouldn't leave my thoughts.
So I get called again for court.the 10x10 square holding benches were packed.
It was a diverse group of women. All colors different backgrounds and charges.
I've always been the quiet one don't make waves. This morning I stood up looked around and knew there was one thing these women had in common and that it was something that would touch them enough to participate .
I stood and started talking..right off the top someone yells shut the fuck up! Someone shut this crazy white girls mouth.why they put the nuts in with us.
    I just continued on..
OK I'm going to sing this as best that I can though i can't sing and then I want everyone to stand up as the chorus and repeat it
    And so I belt out
    What Of The Child !
And they all stood up and did it
I dropped down to the ground , rolling, cracking up, laughing so hard I had tears.looking up someone asked did we do it wrong? No ! It was perfect.!
There were some of the women going to trial so they were there everyday while I did my dry runs There were generations mothers grandmothers daughters and mothers..i found a couple singers and in that little cell crowded with women over the next few days of changes and practices we put together my song...it would have been such a great music video.
Then came the day my charges were dropped and I was walking out...
It was the end of me being brave enough to put myself out there...
I've kept the words and music hidden away in my heart for 20 years
This is just one of many that I need to release.
    I. Observe the joys and pains of life and lives , the challenges of winning and losing hard times and great time love and heart break s and I think I've written some pretty good songs. This coming from me ,my worse critic.
I'm 62 now and don't want to be afraid anymore . I want what I found that time incarcerated ...when I took the opportunity to give myself the gift of me
I am worthy as is my music
    That's about it
    Keep a good thought
    Joyce Butler
    Then my charges were dropped

I like your video. I started producing music by practicing using music loops. From there I began to play atmospheric Vsts. Through out the years I collected over 47 vsts, and thousands of sounds from purchasing sounds. Some of the sounds I got for free too. I use a few DAWS, but my favorites are Sony Music Studio, Magix Music Maker 2014. I use Magix Music Maker to produce theatrical music. It's good to experiment.

I am just 15 people around me tell I am good at singing so I started writing a few songs. It just always felt wrong . I felt maybe I should just not think about becoming a singer just because I was not capable of playing even a single instrument and how to compose a song. Thanks for your guidance the way you explain is so simple and easy to understand.

If I could play an instrument, it would be an acousting guitar. I have tried several times and failed over the years because I've never set enough time aside to put in the effort of learning it. The reason I'd like to be able to play it, is because I am just in love with the simplicity yet complexity of the instrument and how it sounds. It's just something about an acoustic guitar that draws my attention.

    • @JonathanMillerMusic
      @JonathanMillerMusic  ปีที่แล้ว

Midi and computer configurations can be tedious, you're definitely right about that, HOWEVER. They can also be super simple too! I don't use a lot of gear to make my music. There's always going to be a learning curve but honestly you gotta do what feels right. Maybe you have to start by writing lyrics or something before you jump into DAW stuff! Do what feels right for you! :))

Hello, I really love EDM I've always wanted to create some, but I don't have any musical knowledge in terms of playing instruments. I understand the steps of making music but I can't play instruments. I have a friend that plays instruments, do you think he can help me make my sound to life? I'm asking this because most of EDM blown artists always perform on stage as a dj or making live instruments, what if got blown, how will I perform on stage especially if I wasn't the one that make the instrumental or vocal.

You definitely don't have to be a DJ if you want to make EDM! :) That's a common misconception. A lot of EDM DJ's though don't have a lot of training in music theory so you're definitely not a lone. You can definitely ask your friends to help you though! You never know until you ask :)

I play instruments and honestly think one of the best ways to write is going without. Using Logic/loops etc. Like you said, you can learn as you go when doing it! Such great advice! :)

I am someone who actually draws a lot and is practicing animation, but I want to learn how to compose music (nothing too hard, since I only have a few ideas), there is this one sing I want ti deducate to my dad (don't take it as a good thing. The reasons are not good) but I wanna do it properly which is why I am here. Anyone else who is already an artust in another field and is here cuz "I need more than one skill >:)"?

After watch a TH-cam video how much percentage of people subscribe your channel plz tell me because Damian Keyes said that after watching his videos 40 percent people subscribed.Plz Reply With A Good Answer

Wow that's great for him! I can't say for certain what the exact percentage is of people who become a subscriber after watching my videos but I will say that a majority of my views come from people who have not subbed to my channel, that's why I stylize my videos the way I do. However, I've been growing quite a bit as of recently so that's currently in the process of changing. :)
