General Austin and General James Mattis stormed Baghdad in 2001 -- Austin leading Army soldiers, Mattis leading Marines. Friday they were brought together again as Mattis turned over U.S. CENTCOM command to his battle buddy.

Because nobody cares about a general and his turn over of Command.
He is now top news to the TH-cam algo as he is secretary of defense next year so now his video pops up and people actually look at it.
7 years ago it was low profile and never surfaced on the TH-cam homescreen. TH-cam can instantly make you a star or it can bury a star that will only be found with a dedicated search.

we, the civilians don't know a lot about him. His soldiers are the ones making him known by the public. He has been a great Gen. for a while, we just didn't know about him. I heard he is fear by US enemies.
