Bottom line, the Colts didn't expect to be where they are now and looking forward they see they can make the playoffs. On top of that AR gives them no shot to beat the Vikings. He's just not ready. 10 completions in a full game? If Flacco starts last game, they are in 1st place now. They gave that game away. And you have to acknowledge Flacco is one of the best QBs in the league. If Favre is still playing and losing, Flacco cqn play and win. 3rdly you will lose the whole team by playing the guy they all know isnt the best QB. This isnt happening in a vacuum. The players want to win. And they know who can get them there. They only get to play for a little while, you can't sacrifice an entire year of their careers for one guy. That's just unfair. It also violates the message that they are preaching to the players about the best man will play. The coaches would be undermining themselves by playing AR
Ummmmm, Dan?? I love you, but in year 2 Josh Allen went 10-6, 20-9 TD-INT, 59%, and rushed for 9 more TDs. AR is 4-7 TD-INT, 44%, gets injured when he runs, AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, like Chris says, can't hit open receivers. It's beyond frustrating. It's borderline comical. Anyone remember Vernon Gholston?? Tony Mandarich?? This is the QB version.
To Dan’s point, how many WR drops did AR have compared to Allen? He’s hit wide open people perfectly and the passes were dropped (Goodson, Pittman, and Alex all had crucial drops last week - 2 for TD’s). Disagree that Steichen has set AR up for success with play calling. AR is immature but Colts PR team has to hold him and Steichen has to play him and set him up for success. This is what Colts signed up for when they drafted a project QB - time to put your money where your mouth is and put the work into making him better. Even I thought AR was an awful pick but we drafted him anyways so now Ballard owes it to us and AR to make it work. Another Colts clown show this year.
Well shit Chris, Josh just had a 9 of 30 completion rate game this season, just a few weeks ago, like 8 seasons into his NFL career. Idk which one of those should be more excused, but I feel like the guy who has played in 10 games in his career should probably get more of a pass for that poor of a performance, over the guy who’s been playing in the league for damn near 10 years already.
Unfair comparison between Allen and Richardson. Allen got better every year and every game. Richardson has been getting worse. If Allen had gone backwards, they would have sat him.
Ballard was desperate. He took a chance on a super talented kid and a talented play calling coach in Steichen. It hasn’t jelled yet and it may not but sometimes it’s worth taking a shot
Chris Simms seem to have a fog around him about Josh Allen's rookie yr, his stats, his throws and his accuracy. Then when that didn't fit the mold because he was reminded of the exact similarities in what everyone is giving him crap for then he went to "Well Anthony's got a better team and Shane's a better playcaller. It’s about not losing the rest of the team if you tolerate the franchise qb checking out for being tired. You lose the locker room as a coach if you tolerate this.
The "point" he was making isn't really the point. ARs first 4 complete games remain his best games. This year he had clearly been worse. I don't know Josh Allen's first 10 games, but it's hard to imagine he experienced a regression like AR has.
The reality is that most of the people commenting on all of these AR videos haven't actually watched him play and are just excited to pile on because they hoped with all their heart that he wouldn't succeed. His career is far from over and if you've actually watched all of his snaps in-game, you know he's got plenty of talent and has made a lot of great plays in the midst of the bad ones. Hes a bust period as a quarterback go back all the way to highschool where he playes division 5 out of 6 little schools litte talent he completed 51 percent in highschool 53 in college with tons of talent and hes at 50 percent in the nfl ..and comparing him to allen is a joke
Very coherent comment.
@circlecitychamp317 well I tried
AR should have been drafted in the 6th round
Josh Allen never quit in his team. End of convo
Josh Allen just had a game where he was 9/30. The revisionist history that Josh Allen wasn’t as bad is lies. AR might not be great but there’s something there
TJ Watt and Heyward checked out on the last drive the other night against the Giants. They were on FUMES. So, it happens a lot, just not with the QB. Watt and Heyward, their two best defenders, were not in the game the last few plays when the Steelers were only up 8.
Granted, DL is different but you're 100% right. I don't get this notion that he is not allowed to take a play off or calm down, especially when it hasn't been proven that he doesn't have a head injury. If he is winded, maybe he needs it. Maybe he needs better coaching to begin with and a better conditioning routine. Maybe he needs time. Maybe he isn't who we thought he was, when he was never supposed to play yet. I don't care where he was drafted. People are not robots. They develop differently. Maybe he won't at all, but maybe he would in the right place. Look at Baker in a better situation. Look at Justin Fields (who still should not have lost his job in Pittsburgh). Look at Geno frickin Smith. Sometimes it is not the person but the place. The Colts are horrible, let's be real. They are a dressed up Raiders, Browns, Cardinals, Panthers. I bet Bryce Young would do much better if he could leave Carolina. It is about time they invested in specialized position coaches that are not BS gurus for QBs to actually develop them!
I can't believe how overblown this is getting
The numbers do not tell a full story . Peyton thew 28 picks his first year . But what we SAW was wayyy different . Richardson is the modern Jamarcus russel . That’s what he LOOOOKS like .
Josh Allen was 9 for 30 vs Texans like two games ago…
and no picks and ran for 54 yards averaging 13.5 YPC and still had a QBR of 60.8. Richardson had a QBR of 30
But never took himself out of the game. Allen has heart. Richardson clearly isn't meant for the nfl.
Simms is not very bright
@@Mangotaffy Stats: 79-of-94, 914 yards, 6 TD, 0 INT; 26 rush yards, 2 TD
Dillon Gabriel has yet to put together a truly gaudy day through the air like we saw throughout the 2023 season at Oklahoma, but he has been extremely efficient, leading the nation with an 84.0 completion rate. 2025 draft ?
Thank you!! CJ Stroud was 10-21 for 86 yards in an NFL game as well.
Yes Chris he is garbage
What ever happened to QB development
Richardson has done bad in almost every game.
how much longer will you be hating Josh Allen? So different from Richardson. Hard worker, leader, Jordan Palmer private QB coach. NO COMPARISON!
Why are you colts fans in such denial. The guy quit on his team and just can't play the position 😂😂
They not hearing you. Save your breath.
@@dkgdkg2178that’s total BS Richardson trains with the same QB guru as Allen
Physical specimen = takes him self out of game winded
There is more here then his play
Lamar tapped out that one time. When he had to 💩
More than once (Lamar is always hurt or has an illness), but yes, that will go down in infamy. LOL
Lot of drops
He had to want to get better
Chris Simms seem to have a fog around him about Josh Allen's rookie yr, his stats, his throws and his accuracy. Then when that didn't fit the mold because he was reminded of the exact similarities in what everyone is giving him crap for then he went to "Well Anthony's got a better team and Shane's a better playcaller. Lol. Shane's a HC, not just a play caller, for 1. Secondly, what the literal f'. Another person who rather be a nail in the coffin than a helpful hand. I'm glad he got his 15 minutes of fame until tomorrow's podcast or what have you. No big deal all these guys are stooges
See as a Q.B he sees things breaking down, and he don't need the backlash , richardson is a fast paced player, that's why he was drafted, speaking , of Flacco, he blew the Minnesota game and who is the play caller steichen, I totally disagree, with head coach blew it last 2 games running the ball against the best defense 2 to 3 rush yards in 4 downs Derrick Henry yes Jonathon taylor yes, but not against the better defenses in the n.f.l. those are called dead plays.
Josh Allen has higher character
An incompletion that's a foot behind or ahead of a receiver is not the same as a a pass 5 yards over his head.
AR is losing games and quitting on his team and not even attempting to get better as an NFL quarterback after 2 years.
WRs dropped like 3 TDs last week. Bad take
So let me get this right you draft a quarterback at number 4 because your team sucks and now you think you should be winning playoff games a year later 2 years later. What a joke this league is Shane staken's a joke coach is just don't coach anymore do they they draft 21-year-olds and expect them to be playoff material in 1 year Joe flacko has a one playoff game since 2015 no 1 wants to say that to joke
Dan just did the typical dumb football analysis.....pure stats only.
didn’t josh allen just go 9/30 for 130 yards vs houston? and he’s considered an mvp candidate
Yeah you’re the only one to compare him to Josh Allen 🙄
My entire algorithm on every platform has been people comparing AR to Josh Allen for the past two months
Stats: 79-of-94, 914 yards, 6 TD, 0 INT; 26 rush yards, 2 TD
Dillon Gabriel has yet to put together a truly gaudy day through the air like we saw throughout the 2023 season at Oklahoma, but he has been extremely efficient, leading the nation with an 84.0 completion rate. 2025 draft ?
josh allen didnt have flacco behind him and the colts are in playoff contention. they deserve a qb that can win games
I can see it now, AR will be converting to a TE or WR in the next 2 years. Ceiling is Brad Smith, the former QB turned WR.
No way they compared AR to Josh Allen without bringing up diggs… that’s what changed JA’s trajectory
What about the 3 drops by the WRs that could've been TDs tho AR wasn't the only mess up 😂
It’s about not losing the rest of the team if you tolerate the franchise qb checking out for being tired.
You lose the locker room as a coach if you tolerate this.
why draft a project qb if you dont want to develop him.
The look on Chris’s face when Dan read our the stats proving his entire point wrong was priceless 😂😂
The "point" he was making isn't really the point. ARs first 4 complete games remain his best games. This year he had clearly been worse. I don't know Josh Allen's first 10 games, but it's hard to imagine he experienced a regression like AR has.
@@Quinn37 Josh Allen in 10 starts:
7 Pass TD
6 Rush TD
13 Turnovers
64.2 Comp Pct

@@Quinn37 steichen isn't doing the same things he did to make it easier like last year
@lighteagle6092 100% accurate. Steichan owns some of this failure.
He will be in the league for a long time, whether as a back up or as a long-term starter who finally hits his stride and ascends.
Great guy but if you watch him play it’s makes the case even worse he’s very inaccurate in passes less then 60 yard, his reads have been bad and he almost late on every through
@@daltonmunroe7764 Much respect but I disagree, man. He definitely is sporadic and misses some layups. But he's also shown the abilitly to go to the right place and with accuracy. He has some improving to do, but I can't sit here and act like he doesn't show the ability to be a great starter for years to come if he just stays dedicated and confident in himself.
The Bills did not have a Joe Flacco behind Allen, thats the difference. Joe has executed the offense better than Anthony.
So set ya franchise back 5 years for 6 months of a 40 year old
Dude Allen was overthrowing guys left and right. Horrible memory
Richardson benched for truth... would prefer a liar...
You didn't watch the game. 6 passes were dropped that would have resulted in 200 + yards . The ball was in the hands of A.D. ,A.P. , Mike & Josh. Rewatch the game
Man I’m so confused about this new sports climate😂it’s only 1 winner every year and 31 losers but we make all these excuses and tiers and rankings when it’s 1 winner lol
So let me get this right- because Josh Allen was bad as a rookie, every bad rookie could be the next Josh Allen?
Offensive line wasn't doing anything but watching him run for his life they weren't blocking anyone..I guess you didn't see that part of the game & Shane called a horrible game now he's letting the media pressure him to bench AR.. What was Flacco numbers his first season? Exactly!
Stop making excuses for AR.. Real athletes perform in the clutch no matter the circumstances.. AR doesn't have enough football experience to be an NFL QB.. Mark my words.. He won't take another snap in the NFL.. He just busted out..
The kid has zero heart
His teammates said opposite.
@coltsfan2426 I'm sure they did right after they watched him tap out. Do you really think they would say anything different? I guarantee every single man in the locker sees him as soft as butter now
@@paulscattergood1651 nope watch locker room interviews from Pittman, Downs, Zaire from today. You’re wrong.
@coltsfan2426 you sound like a liberal that refuses to look at facts and cant get pver their emotional stance. have you been in a locker room? This is the NFL so multiply that times a million. If they say hiw soft this kid is on TV the owner comes down on them. The gm. The coach. Then they have to deal with ignorant fans that are too sensitive and don't care about their frustrations about how their qb can complete a pass.
