The series has been informative, enjoyed every episode. I like the less edited version…..We learn from each other and when things don’t go as planned, we learn more about how to diagnose the problem. Great series 😊
This was very informative. I, too, like to take a break from a project that is not going well. It's amazing how a good night's sleep can sort things out. Thanks for the video.
Tinman, I like how you say that the 026 was your first Pro saw, the saw you learned to wrench on, etc. My first saw was a 1994 026 as well. I bought mine new in 1994 at my local Hardware store. Of all the places to buy a saw, hammer drill, jack hammer etc, that store was the good old fashioned Service oriented good stuff. My 026 taught me more than just sawing as it got age on it. The MORE turned out to be diagnosing and narrowing down the issues of why it was hard starting, poor running, and just like you did in this clip, I found the trouble was 20+ year old gummed up fuel lines. In a round about way, that saw brought me to you as I never stop learning even at 60 years and counting.
I love the way you do your builds. The 026 is one of my favorite saws. It brings back memories of growing up cutting wood with my father. Thank you for sharing your nolage with everyone.
I’m glad you showed the mistakes an fixes. Glad it wasn’t all edited out. You’re right about the time spent with your kid, you can’t get time back, spend as much as you can with her.👍🏻
I am a fan of your vids. Solid content, no fluffy editing. It's nice to see you post your failures, we're all human! I'm now inspired to build my own of I don't win yours!
I walked into my Stihl dealer knowing Id buy an 026. Got talked into an 036 (which I LOVE) - but my heart still wants an 024/026/260. Love the simple muffler mod, this saw sounds like a great work saw. All the best Tinman 👍
Nice start up tinman sounds nice I think a new air filter is required loved watching your build great to see it running can’t wait to see it in the wood.
Hey hey Tinman, great Oldman's saw proformance rebuild. Worked out good to show how some saws need some tweekin, that don't have to do with the work done. Happy Birthday to little Charlie🎉, she's going to grow up fast. Soak it all in. Thanks for your time and content...
Really digging this series Tinman!! I appreciate that you show us what we already know and experience which is the trials, tribulations, and struggles of any project. Your perseverance is much appreciated!!
That old saw looks really nice. I would love to win a ported old saw! Keep up the good videos when you have time and not to neglect your daughter and wife!
First thing happy birthday Charlie. Glad to see it running thanks for walking us through the issue it can be disheartening when you have an issue but turned out to be easy fix and it’s all part of the game thanks for taking us along on your journey. My two cents on next project pioneer would be a cool one to do
Been having fun watching since I picked up a ms260 from the south, which had been in a flood took awhile in the cleaning area, but once got it fired up she was running great but carb gave me too much grief, so been sitting for about yr or so, now I'm wanting to get back into it again. Thanks for the motivation!
Love the 026. Neighbor has one since new. Just needed a carb kit and the still dealer stripped it. Then called him and said $300 to put it back together. He brought it home in a box. I put it together for him and it rips and it’s nice and light. Enjoy your little one. My twin boys just turned 18. It goes by super fast.
I love the real life start up after the rebuild. Nice job Tinman as always. Happy Birthday to the young girl. They grow up super quick and it just seems to get faster as they get older. Stay safe my friend.
Such good information on that fuel line. Thanks for showing the problems. Looking forward to seeing it in the wood friend and how it sounds. Be nice to see it cut with 325 and 3/8 for comparison.
Your daughter is 2 ! My granddaughter is 15 months! What an absolute joy they are! Life is just a joy! Our little people make it easier to deal with the day to day! Ellie just makes me smile! Pretty cool saw you built!
Wow, great series! Interesting that there were the twists and turns along the way, just to be stymied by a simple gasoline tube. Kudos on figuring out the problem and solution.
I like how real your videos are. I restored 7 of those saws I got off eBay last year for the first time last year for the first time and none of them seem to work properly the first without some fidling
Enjoy that little girl while you can. Soon she'll be a big girl and you'll wonder where the time went. I remember my little girl's 2nd birthday like it was yesterday and she is now 37! I've been following your channel for about a year and now feel like I'm ready to take the plunge on two Stihls, an 034 and an 031.
Nice!!! Good to see it running!!! Sorting issues is the name of the game and you have figured it out. Can’t wait to see it in the wood!! Elm is a really hard wood. Happy Birthday Charlie!! 2 years flies Bud! Blink and she will be off to school, high school then university or college……
Great Video Tinman !! You may have just solved an issue I've had with my old 49SP Jon'sy....she is hard to start, runs great for a minute or two then dies.... gotta check for pinched "new" fuel line brother!!! Thanks.... and yes, please enter me in the drawing for that sweet Ol' 026. God Bless!!!
Wow, been 2 years already. Happy Birthday Charlie!! Time flys. Enjoyed the real time first start. The little things make this hobby fun, but not necessarily on the first start of a new build!
Tinman i had an old 024 that i did a full rebuild on and had this same exact issue. I picked the saw up on and off for a long time trying to figure out the issue and finally found out the aftermarket fuel line was too long and didn’t allow that bend. I purchased a new oem fuel line for it and boom saw ran great! Glad you figured it out much quicker then i did! I might add the 024 and 026 share the same oem fuel line part number
I remember going to the local saw shop to buy one of these-they had just been discontinued. Walked out with a Husky 346xp instead, should have bought ten of them!! Learned my lesson and got a brand new 372 on the shelf that's never had gas or oil in it for when my other one burns up
Dang... glad ya got er runnin. Good series for sure. I got one at an auction for $10. Top end was smoked. Put a new top on it and it ran good but every time i put it up for a bit and get it back out it gives me fits running again. That fuel line situation is a pain for sure. Have never been a fan of that kill switch set up either. When i do get it running tho she cuts for sure! Thanks Tin Man!!
Tinman I would like to see the tachometer readings after she's been in some cuts. The build sure seems to be stout. I've enjoyed this series of your work, Thanks' for the effort.
Legend! Tinman your videos have been really Awesome and down to earth.ive gain'd a whole new perspective on "Air flow" with my saws after watching your porting series.Have currently done 2 of my Stihl MS066's baised on the way you do your saws and super happy with the Results they sound Amazing and wicked to Run!!! Cheers 👊
If you have the opportunity to go to the Bunyan this year, come and meet Tinman he is just what you would think from this channel. Down to earth no ego and someone you will call a good friend after meeting him. ♥️👍
It sounds great! I had a similar issue with a new fuel line not working on my 026. It was too long too and it would have required cutting in the squeeze box area. I used a piece of vinyl tube instead and it worked fine.
Enjoy every second with your girl they grow up so fast, mine are all grown up it seems like I turn around once and they were grown. Like the non edited video and seeing you work through the issues, a lot of good information.
Happy Birthday to the little one, Dam I ran into the same thing with the fuel line it drove me nutz too good nites sleep and change it just like you did cut up one for grommet and new line and boom baby 👍👍
Thanks for a truly instructive video! I appreciate your methodical approach to troubleshooting the problems. That will make a great firewood saw! Happy birthday to your daughter. I have wonderful memories of my two daughters at your daughter's age.
I like the non edited raw startup, no tricks or gimmicks and the issues weren’t covered up. Great job
Hello my friend 👍♥️
me too...👋👋👋
Me three😁👍🏻
@@martyrutter3630 same to you
Congratulations on your 2 year old! ❤
Here’s my plug from an old dad that you won’t regret having another kid ❤❤❤
The series has been informative, enjoyed every episode. I like the less edited version…..We learn from each other and when things don’t go as planned, we learn more about how to diagnose the problem. Great series 😊

Thank you for letting the camera roll. Helps with my thoughts.
I sure wish you congrats on your 1st 2 years with Charli. That is an awesome way to start this clip.

I appreciate that you were transparent about the issues and didn't let your ego get in the way.
Love being in your shop with you, mate. Coming out of winter here in Western Australia
I’m becoming a saw nerd and you my friend are really helping. Thanks for sharing this project with us. I’m gonna have to rebuild one as well!
same
Little ones don't stay little for long!! make the most of it! saws great too👍
I agree with the un-edited version of the video. Keep them running, its helpful to see your process in real time.
Happy birthday. I remember with my daughter. Time zooms by.
Good idea about using regular fuel line through an old fuel line grommet! I'll have to remember that!
Fine looking powersaw.
Family first, good man❤
2 years already, seams like it was two weeks ago!!!! Man we are getting old! Have a great weekend !!!
Thanks for all the great content, Tinman!
You and the family stay safe!
nice saw have one barely used by a friend that passed , for the weight it is a great firewood saw
I walked into my Stihl dealer knowing Id buy an 026. Got talked into an 036 (which I LOVE) - but my heart still wants an 024/026/260. Love the simple muffler mod, this saw sounds like a great work saw. All the best Tinman 👍
036 is a much better saw. The choke is built into the air filter on the 026 but it’s in the carb on an 036 which is a much better design.
Nice start up tinman sounds nice I think a new air filter is required loved watching your build great to see it running can’t wait to see it in the wood.

I recommend leaving most of the carbon coating in the muffler. It insulates the saw and stops the muffler rusting out.
Happy Birthday Charlie !!!
Cruize is right on her heels for turning 2 haha ! Morning Tinman 😊
Your little girl is going to grow up quick! Enjoy it while you can! Had my first and only at 42......It wasn't easy but it was well worth it!
gotta love the stihls they are always a challenge to work on.
That old saw looks really nice. I would love to win a ported old saw!
Keep up the good videos when you have time and not to neglect your daughter and wife!
Hey Tinman, great video series as always. Thank you. Happy birthday to Charlie, and God bless
Tinman I always love to enjoy watching your videos cause I learn something new each time. Also love the tear downs & reassemble videos on Husky saws.
First thing happy birthday Charlie. Thanks for sharing your time and talents. I enjoyed this series.
A man’s wealth is in his children. Great job!
I agree

Nice work tinman! I'm looking forward to seeing it in the wood.
Happy Birthday Charlie.
Thank you for another good video.
I hope you and the family are having a good week.
Looks like it will be a good ripper! Wood cutting season is coming soon. It's time to put that 026 to work!
Love the 026. Neighbor has one since new. Just needed a carb kit and the still dealer stripped it. Then called him and said $300 to put it back together. He brought it home in a box. She sounds great, good result thanks for showing us the details in this one!

Really appreciate the trouble-shooting process - that's where the learning takes place! Saw sounds and looks to be a 'ripper'! Nice work Tinman!
I like how real your videos are. I restored 7 of those saws I got off eBay last year for the first time last year for the first time and none of them seem to work properly the first without some fidling
Great work on that saw!
Those air screws can be frustrating! 🙂
Nice running saw, it would cut the wood for sure.Great channel, learn lots.

Been there, sometimes it’s the simplest things that bite you. Good to see it run
Happy Birthday to the little one🎉
Very nice man he finally got it. Terry told him.
Had the same cylinder so bought an oem piston so I'm building too had the same problem it's the early straight stihl fuel line.😅
Nice!!! Good to see it running!!! Sorting issues is the name of the game and you have figured it out. Can’t wait to see it in the wood!! Elm is a really hard wood. Happy Birthday Charlie!! 2 years flies Bud! Blink and she will be off to school, high school then university or college……

It sounds great, just as in life not everything goes as we would like it to. 👍👍
Dang, that would look good next to my red lever 034 supers, 044’s and 066’s I’ve had since new. 👍🏼😁
You are the definition of "real", my friend! Thank you!👍💪
Love how that sounds. I would love to have that. Awesome job. That was a great video series. Cheers
I remember going to the local saw shop to buy one of these-they had just been discontinued. Walked out with a Husky 346xp instead, should have bought ten of them!! Learned my lesson and got a brand new 372 on the shelf that's never had gas or oil in it for when my other one burns up
Patience is a virtue 😊
Glad to see it running! Muffler mod sounds great!
Great video just goes to show we are always learning in life well done timan
Dang... glad ya got er runnin. Good series for sure. I got one at an auction for $10. Top end was smoked. Love this little saw! Thinking I finally need to add a Stihl back to my fleet!
Great work Tinman way to troubleshoot and stay with it!
Thanks so much for the content. Recently got into working on saws and content like this helps me learn new things.
Thanks for being straight up with your videos tin man...
What a great saw! Thanks for sharing!
Awesome job. Great advice to not jump to conclusions. Think things through, and follow what the saw is telling you. Best series ever ! Thanks Tinman

I've been there. Perseverance pays off.
Good job man of tin. Honesty, that's why I stay.
Nicely built saw. Sounds amazing. Would like to see it work. I would stick with the .325 chain.
Thanks once again Tinman, we all appreciate you!
Nice work! I hope someone who needs it gets it👍
Nice job! I also love the echo Fuel line. Good stuff!
Another great build tinman! I hope to build one of that quality some day.
Happy birthday Charlie. Cant wait to see it in the wood.
