    Thanks for this excellent interview. Watch out Vlad TV. I feel you're gonna take over. In the words of the late Ray Charles "Keep Makin' It Do What It Do"! You do an excellent job! 👍

    I still play this CD. "Satisfy You" is still my song, played often, and I remember the video to this day.

    "Lost inside of you" is incredible. The album is great imo. (From France).

    Interesting to hear how hard it was back then to stay on top in the industry. Perhaps the charts are manipulated to favor certain artists.

    This is why I love these interviews because these artists get to tell you things you didnt know. Who knew Damian Hall produced? I mean I would see his name here and there in the credits but never did I think he was THAT involved. It is good to know. I am happy that he got a chance to reveal this to ppl who who may not know. Toot your own horn, bro! Go head now! Lol

      Totally agree. I had no idea what he did. My guess is that for marketing purposes they kept Teddy Riley as the main name. Protect the asset

    Halftime Chat Damion Hall made a mistake about Forte, Marc, Vince and Shawn was in Forte. They were from MGM not public announcement. I will try and ask Vince if he could interview with you about MGM and Forte etc.

  • @TheBillABCTV
    @TheBillABCTV 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Yes he says, Marc, Vince and them. Marc McWilliams, Vince Walker and Shown Brooks was always from R. Kelly & MGM, they were never part of PA.

      Damion had really good vocals. Unfortunately he was in their shadow (Aaron and Teddy) and didn't have his own identity. He could have probably benefited from a better team (representation and production) and branding. I never liked the crazy legs moniker myself. The original Crazy Legs is a breakdance legend from the Rock Steady Crew. Damion rocking the name wasn't a good look for music fans like me.

    *Damon when on the ride of his life, with Guy. absolutely no one i know, looked for a Damon Hall solo album. not saying he delusional, but at best, his talent was choreography*

      I think Damion is very underrated. He got some pipes on him. Listen to "A Song For You". He holds his own with Aaron. Plus the remixes to Her and Dog Me Out are some of the best from the Future album. Impressive that he worked on those.

      @@DanPLC *it was impossible, coming off the high of Guy's run, to put anything out. don't care if Timmy Gatling & Wookie Stewart wrote every track. i purchased Damion material on cassette when he released it and it was meh (to me) His brother's album The Truth was much much better ( no disrespect)*

    Now if the host worked at Best Buy, he should know that spots and preferential treatment at that store COSTS. That included having a CD in their ads, put on TV"s throughout it, etc. The smaller the label or if they elected not to pay BB, they would get pushed back into the 'hard to find' area...

    • @HalftimeChat
      @HalftimeChat  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      At the store I worked in we had some creative ways to promote an album by playing it in the store or stacking up a lot of them. His supply was always low plus no major single unlike Aaron Hall "I Miss You"

  • @makedab4614
    @makedab4614 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    That HER remix and DOG Me out remix were my favorites. I like Damion based upon these interviews he seems intelligent and down to earth. If he owned 78% of his record then the label may not have seen it as a good investment in terms of the return it would generate.
    Plus in fairness it's rare for groups to produce lots of successful members there are always 'stars'. Damion may have been considered problematic if he understood the business too well.

      Well, I can understand them saying that he could not be bigger than Aaron because he was the lead of Guy, but that was no reason to make sure that the album did not take off like with freedom.
