PCT 2024 Episode 21: A Very Wet Stretch… Giggidy - Days 68-69 on the Pacific Crest Trail

The PCT journey continues! Anna and I hike over Seldon Pass, which rewards us with great views of Marie Lake, ford rushing creeks, catch a ferry ride to VVR, have one of our biggest climbs up Silver Pass, and set up camp next to the beautiful Lake Virginia. It’s a beautiful and water filled stretch of trail!

You guys are so chilled and video is so relaxing.
A big contrast from watching a few other hiker videos in front of you towards Mt. Shasta.
They are pushing to try to beat the fire season, but seriously fire will be there early or not.
Pct will be re-routed accordingly. It's not worth getting injured or worse.
It was sad to see Anthony Treks quit the PCT, but he was pushing big miles.
Many injuries you can never fully recover unless you fully quit.
Walking with injuries is a losing battle.
The smart hikers listen to their bodies and make adjustment not "ignore" the pain.
Zen is about mind/body balance not mind control for maximum pain tolerance.

We’re at the end of the Sierra as we speak, we’ll be by Shasta soon enough. Definitely worried about fires but we’ll go around as necessary. Don’t want to push harder than we need to! We’ve met some other hikers who have quit. Due to injury or exhaustion. Sad to see.
