I just bought a T-10 for my New Ford Maverick, and have been looking for a hardware mount for the last hour (I hate the strap system). I was just about ready to order a random kit, and make my own mounting plate, but this saves me the effort. Thanks for taking the time to make this video.
Wow. I just did this a few days ago for the T10. Used the adapter you mentioned in the previous video and drilled my own holes. Worked out great :). Hopefully they make an adapter that fits the T10. Don’t want to use those universal ones where you have to use your straps to wrap around.
Hi Henry! nice! yeah I think eventually we will get adapters for most mirror dash cams! but yeah I also see no point to the universal ones that still use straps (the only advantage of those kits is that that setup would be lighter than stacking one mirror on top of another but would still use straps, so it's kind of a half way solution I think lol)..
Te saludo ahora por aquí...y agradecerte tu todos tus consejos, hice la conversión con unos de los kits que pusiste en la descripción y mi Wolfbox G850 se ve espectacular!!
Always nice videos and reviews. I've learned a lot from watching your vids. One thing about the Direct Mount is that the Original rear view mirror has a garage door opener and you can open a remote gate or switch on house lights. When it's replaced by your Dash Cam using the Direct Mount, then you lose the features of your Original RV mirror.
Thanks Ty K! and yes that is one downside of going with a direct mount (and of the reasons not all my cars have dash cams converted to direct mount) Cheers!
Thanks Kevin! Also looks like the kit for that measurement is back in stock here you go amzn.to/3vR80cU Make sure to click on "See All Buying Options" so you can place it on your cart. Hope this helps and thanks for confirming the measurements! Cheers!
@@AlexAutoFun Sorry, it should be 13.5*5.9 for Pelsee Pro P12. One review for that bracket actually posted pic for the P12. I ended up using 13.5*5.9 as well.
There is a lever on the mirror that changes the angle of inclination to remove reflection, glare from reflection. It's convenient. It won't work that way on fastening without belts.
I subscribed and wrote you last week. I couldn't wait to get my unit and swap out the old mirror. BUT I double checked before buying one and my glk350 Merc. doesn't attach to the windshield. It goes straight up. Oh well....now I'm looking for a mirror with removable camera. Thanks for your channel, I enjoy all the vids
Hi Bob! ah very interesting, good thing you found that out. Here is a good choice for a mirror with detached cameras th-cam.com/video/zEvk-2z_zQY/w-d-xo.html or this one th-cam.com/video/JJKbUu_egiE/w-d-xo.html Hope this helps and thanks for subbing, welcome aboard!
You really research these mirrors to the full extent! Awesome. The two you suggested to me, the g700 and 800, are both 12". I don't think my visors will work with that. I love all features of these especially the adjustable back up guides. I don't want to be a pain to you but is there anything like them in 11" or maybe a way to make a 12" work. Thanks for all the help and your knowledge and the clear speaking of that knowledge.

Hey alex! Love the videos! Youve helped me previously and I was hoping you could do so again! I have a 2005 Honda Accord coupe this time and I'm finding it hard to find a direct Mount adapter to it's cam lock style rearview mounting hardware. Hopefully you have experienced this style before and might have some input or a link to something that would accommodate my vehicle.
Thanks Bambino! Ah yes if you take a look at my original conversion video here th-cam.com/video/TtjZ7rC_ncY/w-d-xo.html I show how to tell which adapter you will need at the 5:40 mark and you can also see what they look like so you can compare to the one on your car. @@AlexAutoFun yeah that's what I was getting at my car uses camlock which is not in the video or kit that you showed in your video. Its a fairly common style for a common car and manufacturerwhich is driving me crazy not being able to find a kit. Anyways I appreciate you taking the time to respond!
I love your videos! I recently got into the rearview mirror dashcam game. Unfortunately, my factory mirror rattles like crazy! which is why I've been researching alternative options and came across your channel. Your videos help, but in my case, I brought the JOMISE G814 dashcam and there aren't any screws under the rubber pads. You did mention a similar dashcam at the end of the video. Just wondering if you have the solution ready :)

I have Akaso DL12. I couldn't find a product that fits the rear screw holes exactly. I am looking for a product suitable for 140*58mm mounting slots. I would be glad if you help.
I wanted to use one of the clip dash cams on my Renault Trafic Sprots van, but the reverse camera is built into the rear view mirror and not in the main console head unit. The connection for the rearview camera is also not something that can be replaced, as it was factory fitted. So I need to find a replacement dashcam that has the cable connection for the reversing camera
Sir... thank you for your videos... I just recently got a Rexing M2 and am interested in converting my dash cam mount to a direct mount like you're showing. Have you looked at the M2 and if so, what adapter would you suggest? Thank You
Hi Grant! I have Wolfbox G840H V.10. I would like to do a conversion kit for it . Unfortunately it doesn’t have the four screws to remove the strap mount. Instead the strap mounts emerge from within the mirror. I am unsure how it’s secured inside. Is there some way to do the conversion.
Hi Rick! That is very strange, you must have a very early G840H, I reviewed V1 and it does have screw holes. Here is the review for it where you can see them th-cam.com/video/qSRS6dXi85M/w-d-xo.html If you indeed have a G840H without holes, that is a very rare dash cam, probably would hold on to it, same as the G850 V1 that I showed here th-cam.com/video/-ij02UzQWO0/w-d-xo.html only me and one other viewer have a G850 V1 so you may be sitting on a rarity, very neat, Cheers!
Mine doesn't have screws it has two spots where the brackets slide into the back. Wish there was one that used those clips. Really don't like the straps.
Hi Brian! Yeah either glue or VHB 3M tape maybe possible, just hard to say how safe it would be in terms of how secure it will be during a high impact to the vehicle or adverse weather. Cheers!
@@AlexAutoFun thanks Alex for your reply. There is a glue called Q bond. that bond to plastics together like welding. Are the brackets that you have to go on the mirrors plastic or metal? If they are plastic that Q bond would definitely work I have used it before.
@Brian Pompei Hi Brian! The one on the video is aluminum which is ideal from the standpoint that is flat so you can drill a different bolt pattern to it but some of the others ones I linked are plastic but they are not flat they are more specific to certain mirror shapes. Hope this helps, Cheers!

@@mrnoedahl Hi Brian! ah, that's a good question that I get often and I think it's depends on what you are looking for in a mirror dash cam. I run different ones on my cars so what I usually tell people looking for the right dash cam for them is to start by picking how many cameras does it need to have (2 or 3). Now that you have narrowed your selections, consider how much you want to spend on one, that will narrow your choices even further. Then consider any special features you are looking for such as 360° video, Side Camera, Detached Cameras, Wi-Fi, Blind Spot Warning, Auto Brightness, Back up to SSD, Direct Fit Ready, Parking monitor without hardwire Etc. Finally you would want to compare video quality of your final choices. And I just began working on a video to compare my top picks for different categories, Stay tuned, Cheers!

Hi Steven! There are several versions of the G840H, if your dash cam has a USB-C port here is the kit for it amzn.to/3vR80cU and if your dash cam has a mini-USB port for it, there are 3 versions of that one going around (potentially with different measurements, so measuring to confirm is recommended, links to the different kit sizes in the video description) this is the one I used for my G840G with USB Mini amzn.to/3INf2TI Cheers!
Hi L4WNY! that is a good idea, if they could pre-drill more holes into it, the main issue is based on the mirror dash cams I have reviewed, they are a ton of difference sizes, where the plate might end up looking like a screen door full of holes LOL But I really hope they begin to standardize the size now that direct mount kits are becoming popular you know. @@AlexAutoFun Thank you for your reply I have just ordered the mount for the G850 wolfbox keep the videos going they are very interesting and helpful 👍
Hi Zilla! While I like the idea of a slotted kit, the challenge is that based on the number of mirror dash cams I reviewed, the spacing can be quite drastic both in the X and Y axis. So currently only the 13.5 kits would benefit from a slotted range and potentially be combined into a single kit. However that still leaves a lot of other kits unable to be combined due to the large difference in spacing. What I been proposing to the manufacturers of dash cams I talk to, is to standardize the spacing used, just like mounts for TV or computer screens, they have a set spacing and I think the dash cam industry could do the same if they wanted. And here is my original video on direct mount conversion. Cheers!
For me, the only reason I would never get the bracket even though it is a decent idea is to somewhat hide/obscure the camera behind the rear view mirror. The main reason is because people tend to act the fool when they think no one is watching or feel safe in thinking that they're not being recorded either. Making them think they can just drive away & get away w/whatever it is that they did, but again that's just me.
Hi Dominic! ah yes I have two solutions for that th-cam.com/video/J3Zk92PsYBY/w-d-xo.html or th-cam.com/video/ISVs3_trtrQ/w-d-xo.html I agree, people seems to behave better where they know they are on camera (well most do! lol)

For mirrors that don't have screw holes, couldn't you use 3m mounting stickers to stick the plate to the back of the mirror? No drilling involved, it might be a pain to remove if you needed repair, but there are probably no user repairable parts or electronics on the inside anyway. By the time the mirror crashes, the feature set will have changed so much you will likely buy a new one.
@@vinceyoung934 Hi Vince, there is no kit available currently for the G880 since it does not have screw holes in the back. I'm working on a solution for this and video will follow, stay tuned bud!

I just bought a T-10 for my New Ford Maverick, and have been looking for a hardware mount for the last hour (I hate the strap system). I was just about ready to order a random kit, and make my own mounting plate, but this saves me the effort. Thanks for taking the time to make this video.
You're welcome DeadPolymers! and congrats on your new Maverick! 🍻

You should send a message to the manufacturer suggesting they put several predrilled holes on all future models........
Hi L4WNY! that is a good idea, if they could pre-drill more holes into it, the main issue is based on the mirror dash cams I have reviewed, they are a ton of difference sizes, where the plate might end up looking like a screen door full of holes LOL But I really hope they begin to standardize the size now that direct mount kits are becoming popular you know. One set of holes should be oval to fit a range of mirrors.

Hi Samantha! Unfortunately the Rexing M3 does not have screw holes in the back, so a conversion kit will not work with it. Here is another alternative that can be fitted with a direct mount kit th-cam.com/video/7IED69-078E/w-d-xo.html And I have more mirror dash cam reviews on my channel in the playlist "Dash Cams Reviews" if you like to compare them. Cheers!

Anyone know what bracket fits the pelsee p10 2.5k?
Hi Gomez! I have not tested the Pelsee P10 yet, so I'm not sure what kit will fit, however you can measure the back as I showed in my first video here th-cam.com/video/TtjZ7rC_ncY/w-d-xo.html to determine the size but If I do get a hold of one of one, I will measure it for you and update this comment. Hi Enfield! I ran into that with a vehicle that needed a small mirror and found this hidden gem th-cam.com/video/Yk2EEacXZ7g/w-d-xo.html it's the perfect size for my car, clears the visor and direct mount from the factory. Hope this helps, Cheers!

Do you know what one fits wolfbox G900
Hi D R! I have not reviewed the Wolfbox G900 yet, so I'm not sure what kit will fit, however you can measure the back of the dash cam as I showed in the original video here th-cam.com/video/TtjZ7rC_ncY/w-d-xo.html to determine the size. Hi D R! I got an update for you! another viewer said he used this kit amzn.to/3vR80cU to convert his G900. If you do order it please let us know if it worked out ok! Hope this helps, Cheers!
any recommandation for wolfbox g850
Hi DRBaatman! ah yes G850 V2 does have screws here is the kit for it amzn.to/3vR80cU I remember you have V1 (you are still the only one besides me that has V1! lucky you!) and unfortunately V1 does not have screws to mount the dash cam so the conversion kit will not work with it. Cheers!
@@AlexAutoFun I don't think I am willing to risk and do that the problem is when I attach it to the previous mirror it drops down cause of the weight so now I can use it as a missor cause it shows the inside of my car instead of outside so I end up using the back camera the entire time I drive my car.and this increase the heat of the dash cam cause it is on all the time.what do you recommend on my case
Yes I have v1
@@DRBaathman Yep! same here, with V1 being so rare I would not dare open it, it actually sits on a glass case for display in my dash cam collection lol) But yes I also seen those cases where the mirror droops down, this is caused by the mirror mount being worn out or broken internally (which causes the looseness) The original mirror mount can be replaced with a new one or if you don't plan on ever using the original mirror again and just want to use the LCD dash cam then this would be the replacement amzn.to/3IMacWG Hope this helps, Cheers!
@@AlexAutoFun one issue I noticed that it's becoming too hot .so I assumed because the original mirror behind so there is no venting for it.will this plate reduce the heat if it?the new version of the wolfbox has another mechanism of working I think it produce lece heat something to do with capacitor or something like that or it will be hot like this one I have?
I am willing to take off the original mirror and use this one instead
Another question so the obd connecter with o and - option
One off them will switch the mirror off 5 min after switching the car off which is what am using.but the other one I didn't quit understand.does it mean it will on all that only will switch off when about to drain your battery?? So it means it will switch off when when u are about to replace your battery or It is not like that?
@@DRBaathman Hi DRBaathman! Yeah Mirror Dash Cams run hotter than normal dash cams (and even more hot with the LCD panel on) The direct mount kit I showed on this video th-cam.com/video/fveZiDofnxg/w-d-xo.html is aluminum so technically I would say It does work as a heatsink pulling away heat from the dash cam but the issue is that since the whole assembly is inside a hot vehicle, the plate will not able to dissipate the heat (basically would only work on colder days as far as any cooling effect) Regarding Capacitors and Batteries, those are the two choices for internal power used by dash cam. The advantage of the Capacitor is that is not affected by heat the way a battery does. Here is a video where you can see what the battery looks like after it fails th-cam.com/video/HW8jqbl_ayU/w-d-xo.html The advantage of a Battery is that it can enable parking mode without hardwire. So it's more of a matter of choice on terms on which one people prefer. Hope this helps, Cheers!

Do you have a recommendation for the direct mount for the Wolfbox G900s?
Hi Lawrence! yep! I put the link to the G900 kit in the video description. Hope this helps, Cheers!
wheres the video for when doesnt have screws in back ?
Hi Uptowns Finest! I'm still testing out a couple different approaches so I can have a few choices to choose from, so far none of them are ideal and are very involved so part of the delay here is going to be making sure the solution it's going to be a good one or at least an acceptable one (that I would use personally) Hang in there bud, Cheers!

Just bought a Wolfbox mirror cam and direct mount conversion. It Does not fit, the conversion plate screw holes are 1-2mm too wide. Pretty poor mfg. if your products don't work together.
Hi John! I just feature tech on my channel, I don't make the products. However here is the original video showing how to measure the dash cam to confirm the spacing require for the direct mount kit th-cam.com/video/TtjZ7rC_ncY/w-d-xo.html and I placed links in the description to the different kits I have found (both confirmed and unconfirmed).
