A little tip for new installs, just set the smart features to auto calibrate, then you can turn it off and tweak the setting yourself. This is most helpful on the LCA as that can be tricky to set the 8 dots right
I just bought one. Arrives tomorrow... However, I got the 4k front and 2150 back cam version. A little bit more moola, but I think the better cam in the rear is useful. Also, I really appreciate you going over the safety features here, because that's the primary reason I bought it, and there seems to be very limited info online about it all.
Just came in last night and installed this morning. Took about 90 min to full install, hide wiring, and route the rear cam to the exterior. Really nice touch with the auto backup down view. Haven't played with the safety alerts much but noticed you can't run them all at the same time. I would say that's the only negative. Also would have been nice to have a built-in GPS antenna vs the external wired harness. Just ordered the hardwire kit for passive recording.
@@joephu nice! I didn’t hook up the red wire for auto backup since I already have a backup camera. And ya idk why they couldn’t just put the GPS module inside it? 🤷🏻♂️ haha. Sounds like you had a fast install time!! Haha
@@appalachhaun_adventures I installed the hardwire kit. Works great. After powering off the car, the screen has a pop-up that says time lapse starting, then the screen turns off. Nice touch. I set the frame per sec to 1 and duration to 24 hrs. The battery save feature (auto-off) is a little to aggressive for my liking as 12v means you car may not start. I put the toggle to the most conservative setting 12.4v cut-off.
If you had brought the regular version, then all four safety features work together. Unfortunately it is not there in the expensive version which I think is absurd. Perhaps it is better to go for the earlier version. Who knows! Pelsee may agree to an exchange. All that you got to do is to remove the unit and put the other in. Great video! It looks very similar to the Wolfbox G900 I ended up getting few months back when I picked up my new JL. I have the same problem with the ACC box being in the way of the viewing in the front, but I live with it. The other issue I have and I wonder if you do too is putting down the driver side sun visor. I can't pull it all the way down without hitting the 12 inch dashcam. It's just too wide and interferes. Is yours like that too? I do like your dashcam a little more than mine. The Wolfbox doesn't have the app features or the lane departure or blind spot monitoring. Those are nice features!
@@WreckedBrewery yes for the visor. The passenger side visor is still good. Because the front camera on the mirror dash cam, it blocks the driver side sun visor. However, I can pull the sun visor towards me while it’s still folded up and bring it towards me a little and then fold it down and towards the windshield and the push it back where it belongs and it works that way. 😂 if that made sense
a little too early to tell but from the features and price alone, for some reason the pelsee is the only mirror type around that range with the safety alert features if that's what you are looking for. Night vision on the pelsee also looked better than wolfbox to me when comparing review pictures. I'm not sure why wolfbox is the best seller on Amazon atm never bought one to try and can't speak on longevity for either. It's been going strong for 3 years and I only switched now to pelsee for these extra features. From my research these mirror types night vision isn't that great compared to other types of dash cams but that is the trade off if you want to use it for everything else. I've found that settling with one that works decent for me but not the best is good enough
Just got mine today and tested it out. Good for the most part except one problem I had that's most likely user error but hard to tell.
