    The UK drone laws are overbearing and a complete overreach, it wont be long until RC cars will need MOT, tax and insurance.

    I've been looking for a way into FPV this might be it. I own a Mavic 2 zoom & RE goggles love & the fpv sensation but in a Mavic it is like being in a Lancaster bomber, where as this looks more like being in a Spitfire. Also it encourages me to finish my A2CoC to enjoy those benefits.

    Hmm general question… to fly in the a1 category with a2coc you’re saying you can be up to 500g. Does this not include speed restrictions though?
    Standard FPV (non DJI) we’re all trying to be sub250 regardless for close flying, but speeds are high so verging on the edge of “grey” no?
    What are you thoughts?

    • @Geeksvana
      @Geeksvana  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Tom! With the Avata topping out at 60mph, it isn't too much of an issue for this drone. However, there is the need to still maintain 'controlled vlos' (my own words), so speed would be a factor but not a formal issue.
      In the US there is a more formal speed limit of 100mph but I have not seen this enforced, instead it is likely to be used if something bad happened etc.

    • @tomrichardson1279
      @tomrichardson1279 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for this. Plenty of smaller fpv drones (emax babyhawk, cinelog30, protek25, etc) with a naked gopro on that are borderline 250g.
      Obviously being flown in a safe and reasonable manner right, but here they maybe don’t need to be sub250 so maybe a bigger 850mah battery to put you over the 250g category but under 500g isn’t going to be frowned upon right?
      The rules are still so open to interpretation.

    • @Geeksvana
      @Geeksvana  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Upto 500g with an A2 CofC within congested areas is perfectly allowed. Something that small is certainly safe too in my opinion.

    These rules are so off putting, mostly the need to get all these licenses sorted out. £10 a year and a £50-100 course/license?... really?

    Back when drones were hobby quads Wii controllers sucked. The Wii controller mems gyros made all the drones possible. Sub 250 will be deemed banned soon to remove them from the air. A few well set up news stories is all it would take. Getting hit by a 400g racing fpv drone is bad news not for majority of DJI owners just being hip, hover & assess not good you should cut power and drop or your just selfish or flying over cars and people in wrong already. People on average have a maturity level of 19 these days.
