@@Smith-he6bg the last video they did, opening a box of grilling/cooking things Bob had ordered, some people took their humor the wrong way and left comments criticizing them. Apparently that was kind of hard for Reid who loves, admires, and respects his parents AND gets their sense of humor. Anyway she had him take that video down so the comments would stop 😥 I wish more of us would give people the benefit of the doubt instead of posting straight up critical things (i.e. That seems harsh or rude but maybe that's their family's sense of humor 🤷) this gives space for everyone to share their thoughts 😊
Be funny, if that's the genuine you. Ignore the funny-haters. Comic relief can help maintain perspective and help keep things from becoming overwhelming.
What a great couple you are! I appreciate this video, as my husband has a box from the office to declutter as well as a “sentimental box” which he hasn’t looked at in 24 years! He’s ready to tackle it and now I know how to help him! Thanks Dana!
I love how he respected your decluttering questions/process and you respected his feelings about so-called "clutter". I really saw how these steps made the difference between being overly emotionally stuck on every item vs. making logical decisions about items that evoke emotions 🤔 ❤👍🏻
Why would anyone have a problem with humor? One of the main reasons I watch you is bc you're so funny! Check that crumpled gift bag that you threw away to see if anything is inside.
Dana! You are soooo sweet to your husband! “It is tough, that’s why we are here.” Thank you so much for all you do, you’ve literally helped me on a daily basis for the past month declutter my house completely and get it ready for decorating and selling. As a person with mobility issues take it there now can be tricky, but a bazillion times less tricky than several piles of stuff all then needing to go somewhere after I’ve become exhausted. I try and imitate your wonderful accent as I take it there now! Thank you and hope your throat is better soon 😊
I think you two are funny! Thank you for showing us how to be with a spouse when they want to declutter. Very kind and respectful. I noticed the value of listening to the person tell stories as they declutter. Being real supportive. Great video.
I loved this, funny and so so helpful. I think this will help me and my sisters when we go to declutter my elderly father's office later this year. Thanks for making this entertaining video Dana and Bob!
PLEASE be funny- we NEED that and your natural repartee together is really fun, especially with a sometimes difficult task. You guys are great! Love to you and your family!
OK I thought you were charming and adorable Miss Dana, but then your hubs showed up. Cuteness overload, I love you two together. Thank you both for the much needed smiles today. You have no idea how much they were needed. 💝
Something my husband does now is great, he takes a picture and puts it in a sentimental item’s folder. This way he can easily see them anytime and they take no space ☺️ and great video!!!
Dana, I love you and Bob together! Did you just yawn? No. 🤣 Don't worry about what others say. I thought you guys were great last time! Bob posing at the end. 🤣 Good job, Reid! 🙂
Loved this Dana! My hubby and I joke around and tease each other a lot (he's been picking on me since the day we met!), so I appreciate the humor between you and Bob! Reid is always funny too with his comments at the end. Laughter is great medicine for the soul. Haters gonna hate anyway - so just keep being you. Love ya girl!
Hello Dana, thank you for this video! I took hour advice and tried to help my Father who keep all things. Last evening we had conversation about container concept and I think it "clicked" in his brain. So first he brought one small basket to sort. We sorted in 10 minutes, and this gave us momentum. We finished other 2 boxes and one big drawer. 40 minutes in total. It resulted in one small basket of sentimental, one box of tools and organised drawer and 4 bags for recycling. Thank you Dana for all tips!
I love this video. You both are a very cute couple. 🙂 I was given my Dad’s Air Force hat that he wore when he was in the military. My Dad passed in 1976 and I had held on to it until 2 years ago. I had felt guilty about parting with it because of the significance. I reached out to a local VFW Hall and it is now displayed at their venue with a card written by me with his military experience. They said if I ever missed it, I would be welcome to come visit it whenever I wanted.
As a military spouse, I can tell you that's a nice collection of crests for military units. The symbols you would wear on your uniform when you're a member of that unit. Yeah, look around your area for a VFW. They would probably appreciate that.
Love, love, love this. You two are adorable together. He should be in more of your videos. Don't listen to the nay sayers. It's your relationship and it works for you. Is your husband a cop or minister? He's very funny as is your son Reid. Love your stuff and keep up the good work. I'll be watching and rooting for you.
These are my favorite videos of yours because I think they are sooo helpful. It's so helpful and encouraging to see REAL people declutter their REAL stuff!!!
One trick that I like to use for sentimental items is to take a picture of the item and then get rid of the item (donate or throw away). The value is not in the object itself, the value is in the memories that object invokes. I can always look back at the picture of the item and still recall the memories.
•Altogether, good job. •Re: the military medals, or collectible pins, why not donate them to the VFW, they might know a meaningful destination for them. •Dana, you were thoughtful and persevering, and •Bob, how cool that you Have Feelings. Good for you. •And if you need to reclaim a little bit from trash or donate, here’s what I do: I write on an index card, “Thank you for your service,” and I photograph the object with it on a nice surface. Then I decide if it can go, now that I have the photograph. Either way, I now have a way to keep my feelings that the object represents, •and Bob, you still had some room in the keep box, if the public sorting was not entirely true to your heart. It is good to know there are people in the world who really care. Thanks you two and Reid, all 3.
Last cut of your husband was so funny I laughed out loud. Wish I had seen the other one that some folks didn't like; it is probably something I'd find funny. This was a useful video, too. It was good to see someone go through the process with real items from their lives.
The military pins that were your dad’s are Unit Crest - piba that are worn on uniforms showing what unit you are in. Many veterans will keep something like that as a keepsake showing all the units they served in. I can see it being sentimental to the veteran, their spouse and children, grandchildren … but beyond that I think you made the right call in realizing they really weren’t sentimental to you personally.
Dana, the absolute LAST thing I would think you have in your home is a CLEAR trash bag!!! 🤣🤣🤣 Your hubby did great & you guided him along so patiently. Really enjoy watching videos where he pops in as a guest!
Dana & Bob, my computer died several weeks ago, so now that I finally have a new lovely one, I'm playing catch up on all of the YT videos that I missed until I got my new computer... and darn if I didn't get to see the other video that the two of you put out. I'm sure I would have thought it was funny. What's not to love about a married couple who still tease and make each other laugh? I'm so sorry you and Reid had to deal with the negativity. I believe the world needs humor more now than ever. Have a blessed and happy summer with your family, and we'll still be here in the fall! ~Margie
I watch you for tips to help me declutter and have a more peaceful life. I appreciate all your help. I find you both very likable. Thank you for helping me.
I love this video. I've caught small glimpses of your husband before in other videos but haven't watched any that feature him. As many years as you've been at this, I'm sure he's familiar with the process, but still relies on your help for the really tough jobs. That's so great.
1. I think if you came to hang out with my hubby and me and our SMALL group of friends, we would get in SO much trouble!! 2. Aww, Reid, love the ending!
This one really hit home, the sentimental stuff is the hardest. The 2017 unopened Elvis calendar, i can see how he would want to keep that. I love to keep my calendars usually because they have pretty flower pics on them. I wonder if you could make a collage out of the Elvis stuff like that to hang in his new office? Now see I'm crafty and think about things like that and I keep the supplies and never end up doing the thing and it just makes more clutter. Sigh. Making progress little by little right??
No trash.....SO MUCH TRASH! Lol. Loved that part. He is like... I wouldn't have put trash in here.... Reid, what a nice thing to say, she is an influencer for sure. If people can hear her words in their head when they are making their life better, she is really an influencer. When they say some of those works so much that their husband also ends up saying some of them, wow. Influencer.
‘’I probably wouldn’t wear that. Or I might. (If whoever gave it to me is watching) 🤣Nice save! I can’t believe y’all got hate the last time you filmed together. Loved the video! It is hard. I recently quit teaching. I had to go through all the cards and pictures kids had given me over the years. I kept the pictures I liked. And the cards that the kids took the time to make a handwritten note.
Dana, I just wanted to send you two a huge thank you! I just did a massive bedroom declutter with my two little kids, 8 and 6yrs old. Initially it was completely overwhelming, but as I was going along I found myself using your coaching terms and techniques and would you believe it! It worked like a charm! We did the garbage first and then got to work on the hard stuff. It took the stress out of decisions and I was able to break down for them what categories of things they want to keep and then they were able to let go of the rest by themselves. My 8 yr old even turned around and said "Wow! What a good job we are doing here!" Thank you for modelling effective coaching. 😊👍 I am forever grateful for this gem of a lesson! The 8 yr old climbed into bed tonight, in a freshly clean and organised room and said "Now tonight I'm gonna sleep really well!" THANK YOU!
Ignore the haters!!! Be you because that’s what makes a video unique! And I enjoy seeing how husbands and wives interact… helping me realize we aren’t the only ones ! 🤭😁😉
The end and the credits made me genuinely smile and laugh. Love your sweet family and their support of you! And this was helpful too! I’ve been trying to reduce the amount of pictures on my phone, and also really want to do a gallery wall so I’ve been looking through pictures in my memory bin. Having a little perspective has helped me delete some pictures that I have been holding onto because it made me realize that I had others from that day, or of that person that I would frame or print first. Now I have my favorites and don’t have others to flip through in between.
“It’s time to make some money “ 🤣 y’all are great, thanks for the laugh! It’s hard to get rid of office stuff that you don’t really want but don’t really want to get rid of.. thanks for the video!
Loved the video! Great to see Dana with hubby Bob, clearing out spaces. Would love to see more videos of Dana & Bob decluttering together. Nice to see/hear another’s perspective. Thanks Reid for great commentary! Blessings! ❤️
This was such a SWEET and HELPFUL video!!! I was thinking of my family from Maine and their dry sense of humor listening to hubby (I live in TX) and then saw his shirt!!! Anyone not appreciating his humor shouldn't go to Maine...your feels will get hurt. If you guys ever go up there he will keep folks in stitches!!! THANK YOU ALL!!!
You two are so sweet together. When mine went off on disability we boxed his stuff for a year til he felt up to us going through it. Now I see over time he’s parted with more. With distance from our work what’s sentimental shifts and gets so much easier.
So fun to watch you two interact. I have 3 huge boxes of teacher stuff after retiring. Thanks for demonstrating how to deal with this stuff. That time was such a sweet part of my life. Now I feel capable of dealing with it without causing a disaster in my house.
Great job! It’s taken me years but I finally can get rid of more sentimental items and just keep some, knowing a few in each category are enough. I’m still working my way through things but I’m definitely making progress. 😊
Your husband sounds like mine in my videos! LOL Hilarious! Those were military unit emblems that were made both as patches to be sewn on uniforms and as commemorative pins. Agree that without any context to them, you don't know if they were units his dad was assigned to (most likely if he had them), but most of those units are no longer around. Someone at a VFW might know what they are or could be donated to a military surplus store as collectibles. But then you have to make time to manage the donation so agree you did the right thing.
You’re amazeballs ❤️ I’ve just discovered you recently. I’ve listened to your declutering book 3 times, your manage your household book twice and have just purchased your last book. I am literally you 10 years ago. I have decluttered now a few areas in my home. I have a way to go but I’m on my way. I’ve struggled for years with being overwhelmed with stuff, but your method (and I’ve read and listened to lots of methods over the years) is the one that actually makes total sense to me. It really does. I’m very creative, and I see a potential in everything, much to my detriment. I think you’re fabulous! Thank you thank you thank you. Love from Australian ❤️❤️❤️
Good laugh. Thanks. :) Also.. we have been clearing out our home for a move across country.. your method has helped me work with our children to purge items. Not only does it make it easier on them.. it makes it SO much easier on me. Less frustration. Thank you.
Decluttering can be stressful so any way that you can make it FUN is a WIN for everyone involved. People who don't want to have a little fun in the process are going to be miserable and no one wants to be around that for very long.
I SOOO appreciated that! Thank you to you both! I am like your husband, keeping those cards and photos of other people's families etc etc. This was very helpful! I hope I will manage to be as successful as you both when I do mine!
Hi Dana this is my first time watching your videos. Really enjoyed it. You and your husband did a great job. You are very patient and understanding when it came to him declutteeing his sentimental items.
That was really good, guys. Thank you. Yawning can sometimes be a release, especially after an emotional situation. Very natural body-mind process. In this instance it wasn’t indicating boredom. Cheers, 🌺🌻🌺
Lol, I have a boat load of stuff in my house from my husband’s old job of 30+ years. Wish my husband was as receptive to assistance in clarifying what needs to be done. You guys did good work together. ♥️
This weekend my husband and I started cleaning and decluttering our room. Many things were highly sentimental but we used your methods to help us make hard decisions. There were tears and emotions but we are feeling better the more we get rid of. It's giving us some freedom! Thank you Dana K. White! We appreciate what you have done for us and so many others! You may never know what a difference you are making. Thanks a million 😊
“You’re so lucky to have me.” 😂 & he agrees
"They just got it off the interwebs," LOL!!! This is great!

So true. And I'm thankful that I have it!
I had that but had to let go because he lost his morals and was unfaithful 😢
You are both great! I enjoy your smiles and laughter. Don't worry about hate comments. Those people have the problem not you.
Bob rolling in super under-prepared with the clear trash bag. 😆You guys are so funny!
I love it when she’s like this is pretty much the opposite of a black trash bag lol 😂 😂🤣😂

Omg! Reid’s comments always crack me up! Great posing at the end 😮☺️😆
I loved that first video of you together, how could people not like it?!
I love that you are "Office" people. ♡
‘It’s time to make some money.’🤣🤣🤣… It’s time for your family to have their own show. 😍
Good laugh. Thanks. :) Also.. we have been clearing out our home for a move across country.. your method has helped me work with our children to purge items.
Loved the post credits! It always makes me giggle. Thank you all for the video, Reid included.
Once again, another lucky gal to have such a wonderful husband! I never knew what that was like! Great job on the video!☺👍
Wonderful! Thank you for showing us how it's done, Dana. You and your husband are great together! Terrific video!
I SOOO appreciated that! Thank you to you both! I am like your husband, keeping those cards and photos of other people's families etc etc. This was very helpful! I hope I will manage to be as successful as you both when I do mine!
I’m only 2 minutes into the video, but I think he needs a “Sass Level 7/10” shirt! 🤣 You two are great!
Hi Dana this is my first time watching your videos. Really enjoyed it. You and your husband did a great job. You are very patient and understanding when it came to him declutteeing his sentimental items.
Excellent. So helpful to see the process with hubs!!! Always love Reid’s finale!
That was really good, guys. Thank you. Yawning can sometimes be a release, especially after an emotional situation. Very natural body-mind process. In this instance it wasn’t indicating boredom. Cheers, 🌺🌻🌺
How can there be haters? Genuinely confused. The videos are so entertaining as well as helpful
Laughter is the best medicine! Keep the humor going!
You two are AWESOME! ❤️
He is hilarious! Ya'll are super cute...
He's so handsome! And even though I do Flylady, I still use your method to declutter!
