The main character of 5Ds is Yusei Fudo. Also Zexal has 2 unique English intros. The second intro is called Halfway To Forever. It’s the intro for the second season.
Early Plot of 5D's: After the event known as the 'Zero Reverse Incident'. Domino City was divided into two factions. New Domino City where anyone who has wealth can live it up, and the Satellite Sector were everything is thrown out, including the people. Despite being rasied in Satellite. Yusei Fudo wanted to find away out for him and his friends. So he decided to duel his way out by making his own Duel Runner/D-Wheeler. A special type of motor bike designed to compete in Turbo Duels. The newest and most thrilling method of Duel Monsters. Sadly thought, his former friend, step brother (orphanage), and rival, Jack Atlas steals Yusei custom Duel Runner and ace monster/card. In order to make it to New Domino where he eventually becomes the future World Turbo Duel champion. Now it's Yusei's goal to make Jack pay for what he did, and to take back his ace.
Interesting fact about GX, the sub and dub are wildly different in not just dialogue, but also animation style, subject matter, and the fact that the sub had an entire 4th season the dub never got.
4:42 the motorcycle has a duel disk/platform built into it and ridiculous sized windshields so cards don’t just fly off which doesn’t make sense but looks cool
The one I actually grew up on was Zexal, I know it wasn't too popular, but boy is that intro nostalgic. I was watching and getting into it around the same time I was really into the Beyblade Metal Saga. Everyone used to talk about Beyblade being serious, but not enough people brought up how insane a show about card games gets
Yea not too many that speak about nostalgia of Zexal, but I love that you guys exist, since the anime did its job of roping us into crazy card game world for the fourth time, so it’s nice that each gen has its own version of the anime they can recall
I also grew up with Zexal, it introduced my to it all, then I watched all the shows a few years ago, I'm up to date with it all. Despite Zexal removes Synchros, and Fusion and Ritual were shown a total of 3 times, Synchros and Xyz exist together with each passing show until Sevens, Arc-V introduced Pendulums but were never used in the anime passed it. Then Sevens introduces the Rush format and Maximum summon, and brought back Fusion, all other summon methods are MIA...For now. Zexal only had A.R., 5D's had solid vision, which by Arc-V development adding mass to feel the environment and monsters. The timeline gets confusing, but I believe www.youtube.com/@SpellCommander91 theories. Zexal is my Duel Monsters, even sharing similar stories. Vrains is like Ready Player One, an artificial world where they duel, and A.I want to take over the world. 8:06, just you wait. Some to most or all of the Japanese openings are equally if not better. Vrains season 3 and Sevens season 2 absolute bangers. There is an 8th Go Rush, season 3 currently airing, but nothing about an english dub.
Zexal isn't as popular as those before, but to be honest, not only that I grew up with it, but also, I just loved to see how Yuma got better and better as a duelist, instead of being at the start, one of the best
GX and 5ds are excellent! Zexal has a slow start, but once you get invested, it’s really good and is probably my favorite despite some of criticisms I have on it.
@kinoire I think that depends on your taste. Slice of Life isn't usually my cup of tea, so I prefer the later episodes. The Chazz centric episodes are great and I always love to see character development XD
Hyper drive was a good opening for 5D’s but 4kids actually held a contest for the Yugioh 5D’s op and I feel like the runner up “ride to survive “ fit the show so much better! They had multiple entries for openings for 5D’s! If you want to hear and possibly react to them, let me know I’ll link them to you!
I loved the idea and concept for ARC-V's plot, the execution at the end not so much. But it was still a fun and exciting watch 'till it hit that point. At least to me.
@@AlexCoker-wg7qw Starts off as a series about a circus performer, then somehow turns into a big dimensional war where alternate realities are trying to destroy each other because they each only use one extra deck mechanic and think the other dimension's extra deck mechanics are blasphemous. And the main character is 1/4 of a guy.
SO a bit of context since you were out of the loop for each series after Dual Monsters GX: Dual Academy, a place built by Seto Kaiba to teach kids how to play Dual Monsters 5Ds: Set in the future both Regular Dueling and Turbo/Speed Dueling(Riding the Duel Runners or Motorcycles) exist with the latter only being possible thanks to a new energy source the system uses called Inner D which was caused by the Zero Reverse 18 years prior to the Story Starting 5Ds was also the start of the Extra Deck adding new summoning systems, in this case the Synchro Summoning System which involves a monster from the Main deck called a tuner being used alongside a non tuner to summon a Synchro Monster from the extra deck without the use for a fusion spell card Zexal: much like the first series the MC is helped by someone in his body only before it was the Pharoh for Yugi, Astral is an Alien and I can't say anymore than what's shown in the first episode of that show This was the start of the XYZ(Said as one word not X Y Z) summoning system where 2 or more monsters of the same level are overlayed(think layered on top of one another) to summon an XYZ monster from the extra deck ARCV: Dueling along side your summoned monster in a format called Action Duels where real solid vision allows the duelist and the monsters to shine side by side in far more interactive duels for the amusement of onlookers, a duelest who does this is called a Performance Duelist like the MC Yuya Sakaki and his missing Father This is where another summoning system was added but unlike the former isnt about summoning a stronger monster but a bunch of monsters, Pendulum Summoning, its the most complicated of the summoning systems but to summerize as much as I can, you use two pendulum monsters as scales by placing them in the pendulum scales on either side of the board, then if those cards have different values like 1 and 8, you can simultaniously summon multiple monsters from your hand or face up in the extra deck between those numbers Ie 2-7, the reason I said face up in the extra deck is because when pendulum monsters get destroyed they go to the extra deck not the graveyard unless banished Vrains: Dueling can now be done in a virtual space called the Vrains and there's another kind of dueling system called Speed Duels(Different to Turbo Duels) unlike Regular Master Duel, Speed Duels only use 3 Monster and Spell/Trap card zones plus an additional Zone called the Extra Monster Zone(This is solely for monsters summoned from the Extra Deck or for Old Yugioh the Fusion Deck) Link summoning is the last of the new summoning methods for base Yugioh as Rush duels are a different format all together, Link Summoning is similar to XYZ summoning as it doesnt require a special card or monster type, you simply need as many monsters as needed for a link monsters link rating, so link 1 needs one monster, link 2 needs 2 and so on SevenS: The MC created a whole new format for playing Yugioh called Rush Duels, Rush Duals are similar to Speed Duels in that they make the duel mat smaller but the point is it changed 2 major things about Yugioh, You always draw until you have 5 cards in hand every turn, and you can normal summon as much as you want so long as you can, meaning you can normal summon 3 level 4s and sacrifice 2 of them to summon out a level 7 or 8 monster, or sacrifice all 3 for a level 10 or higher, the MC did this because he found that master duel(regular format) was too restrictive and not fun and he wanted people to enjoy playing Yugioh again(a not so subtle way of talking about how the actual format of Yugioh got so complicated old fans feel like they cant return to the game and people in the format feel you barely even get a turn with how fast decks are at making unbreakable boards)
4:30 React Zone to answer your questions about 5D's, first the name of the MC is Yusei Fudo and second the mechanics of the card game on motorcycles is called turbo duels (Riding Duel in the Japanese Anime) and are a type of Duel that can only be played by using a "Duel Runner" (the motorcycles). mechanics/Rules of a Turbo Duel: 1. At the start of a Turbo Duel, the Field Spell "Speed World" (later "Speed World 2") is automatically activated. 2. During each of either player's Standby Phases, 1 Speed Counter is placed on both player's "Speed World"; although in the anime a Speed Counter is not placed on the first turn. 3. When you take damage, for each multiple of 1000 damage you take, you lose 1 Speed Counter. With "Speed World 2" however, you don't. 4. "Speed World" also inflicts 2000 damage to a player's Life Points whenever that player would activate a non-"Speed Spell" Spell Card in a duel. (this one doesn't matter much as no one using Spell cards other then Speed Spells in the anime.)
The second protagonist, Jaden has a superhero-themed deck, and ArcV has a circus-themed deck. I Also I really think you should check out the Japanese openings. I feel like they would show you more about what those seasons are about and how crazy things get.
I enjoyed YuGiOh when I was a kid/teenager but fell out before the first anime ended. It'd be cool to revisit the first series and experience the rest alongside our community.
@@ReactZonesif you do a reaction to one of them Yu-Gi-Oh arc-v would be good it's pretty serious at times and some of the characters have to take thing's seriously
For the first 6 shows the Yu-Gi-Oh series can pretty much be classified into two categories: 1. Is dark from the beginning and mostly stays on that level (DM, 5Ds, VRAINS(?)) 2. Is very light-hearted and a bit silly at the beginning of the show, but get's incredibly dark. Sometimes even darker than the shows in category 1. (GX, ZEXAL, ARC-V) Pleas tell me you will do the Japanese openings next XD If you do, don't use the playlist by the official channel but this one instead: th-cam.com/video/fdwzQ-wUbD0/w-d-xo.html
Yu-Gi-Oh GX and 5D's are everybit as great as the original. Also when 5D's was coming out they held a voting competition where fans play the songs and vote for which songs they wanted as the theme song for 5D's. If I remember correctly there were like 5 different songs. I voted for Over Drive. Haha
The reason why in Arc V why they're riding the monsters is because there's something called "Solid vision" that basically allows you to ride your monsters and interact with the land
Turbo duels have a permanent field spell called Speed World active that only allows the use of Speed Spells, which need speed cointers, instead of regular spells.
@@jussch5752 Am I weird for liking Yuri? I dunno why, but I kinda like that little psycho. I also love how in the Japanese dub he is voiced by the same VA as Yuya (and Zarc) and that he has a polite way of talking (He uses "Boku" instead of "Ore" like the other Yu-Boys). (Fun fact: Yuto and Yugo were voiced by twins). Another character I love is Yuya, he's just such a cute little tomato~ Plus I seem to like it when a happy characters mental health get's crushed ^^' (**cough**Season3Judai**cough**) The character I'm most intrigued by must be Zarc (and Ray) though. Because we don't know much about him there is just so much room for speculation around him~ ^^ Sawatari is a very fun character that just grows on you, so I totally understand your love for him XD
The original series Duel Monsters actually changes the song in some of the 5 seasons but it’s all the same song just almost slightly remixed I recommend you listen to season 3 opening it makes the original song even more epic
Ranking for best songs in English. 1. Feel the Power. (Arc-V) 2. Original DM intro (Time to Duel) 3. GX (get your game it is super catchy) 4. Hyper drive (5Ds) 5. Halfway to forever. 6. Vrians theme 7. 7ths theme 8. Zexals first english OP (sorry, zexals fans) Unbaised list btw, fav series 5ds
4:43 if I remember right there are cards used only when dueling on a motorcycle so yeah there is a game mechanic made especially for dueling on motorcycles
I don't know about Vrains but if you want dark yu gi oh, 5d's ( the mc's litterary send to prison for trying to leave the slums and go to the city) the second half of zexal are pretty dark (they keep killing characteres althrough they were resurected at the end for the most part but still not to mention the litteral interdimensionnal war).
Vrains is also pretty dark especially with The Lost Incident and the ending was going to be VERY dark but it was changed and from the opening you can tell it's more serious
First of all, yes, it will get weirder as the generations go on, lol. And I'm not sure if there are other comments explaining it already, but I'll explain each one a bit just to help you understand what's going on. GX is a school where you go to learn Yu-Gi-Oh! and become top duelists, created by Kaiba some time after the events of the original series. Jaiden Yuki uses an Elemental Heroes deck, basically super heroes with different elemental properties. 5Ds is set in the future where you can duel normally still, but Speed Duels is a thing where you ride on motorbikes and duel at the same time, with somewhat different rules involving speed counters and including the Synchro mechanic. Usually done in arenas for people to watch. Yusei uses a combination of 'junk' monsters and a Stardust Dragon, the junk referring to how 'even trash can be a powerful enemy' sorta deal. Zexal is the one I know the least about, but they introduce the XYZ (exceed) card mechanics, and the plot of the story is the characters trying to find the 'Number' cards, as the XYZ cards are numbered from 1-100+. Yuma is the name of the main character. Get the theme yet? Arc-V is where they include the pendulum mechanic into the game. They were indeed riding the monsters, since the technology has advanced far enough in the show's timeline to where the Virtual Reality is 'real' enough for them to interact with. Yuya uses a deck of 'preformapals' since he wants to be an entertainer like his dad, preforming acts and tricks as he duels a lot of times. Vrains is where the duels take place in a virtual reality world, like you assumed, introducing the Link mechanic to the games. It's certainly a lot more adult in nature, though 5Ds and Arc-V do have a lot of mature moments in them. Yusaku goes into the virtual world and duels to stop a 'criminal organization' from doing bad things, lol. He is one of the strongest protagonists though, outside of Yugi's BS main character powers I think he has one of the best win streaks, or at least most impressive combos if I remember correctly. The next two I have very little info on, never watched them. But Yugioh Sevens is kind of a reboot of the series where they change it to Rush Duels, different rules and mechanics. The main character is Yuga, keeping the name train rolling, though the main antagonist is Otes if I remember correctly, who does use a Blue-Eyes White Dragon, an obvious call-back to Seto Kaiba. I know nothing about the eighth generation, except for the main character's name being Yudias. If I had to recommend which series to watch, I'd say GX for the most similar to the original Yu-Gi-Oh! vibes, 5Ds for a good story and entertaining duels, and Arc-V for the sheer mixture of over the top entertainment, comedy, serious moments and just out-there stakes, but overall still a good story. Vrains as well I'd recommend, but I'd build up to Arc-V and Vrains before jumping right into them. ... I'd also recommend avoiding Zexal, you may like it but.... eh...
The big thing with motorcycle battles in Yu-Gi-Oh is their is a constant field spell called speed world and each turn people get stuff called speed counters which were used to pay for spell cards called speed spells. The manga has a different story where in that version another possible win condition is making it to the finish line first and taking damage slows your duel runner (what they call the motorcycles).
Except for DM all the manga are very different from their anime counterpart. Pretty much all that stays the same are the character designs and their names, as well as the deck archetypes they use. Plot, decks and even the characters personalities and backstories are different than they are in the anime.
V-rains is defenitivly the series that is the darkest series. And yet. Like 90% of the show is in a virtual world known as VRAINS. (Stands for Virtual Reality, Artifical Interligence, Network Systme). The plot of the darkest and the most unique out of all the shows.
You should react to the japanese openings to get a better understanding of sevens and go rush. Sevens is trying to push rush duels which is kind of a reboot to yugioh game
To answer some of your questions: Duel Monsters, GX, 5D's - You know the basics, Zexal - Had a second opening "Halfway to forever", and my favourite, the blue one is like the Pharaoh, Arc-V - Soild vision had development adding mass to feel the surroundings and monsters, Vrains - The data storm introduced the Speed duel format, and Duel Links rules adding Skills you can activate, Sevens - One of them is a part of a band, and brought the Rush duel. They never brought back the millenium items after the original, except referencing them in GX, and the symbol in Vrains opening.
My favorite YuGiOh series is Arc V mainly cause it reuses YuGiOh GX, 5D's and Zexal characters but gives each new character there own spin.. Plus the main bad guys motivations are a perfect blend of stupid, crazy, and makes total sense lol
5d has like spell counter (sry if i gave wrong name) And spells cost now Example monster reborn could be 3 spell cost This doesnt aply to monsters Im rly not sure but for my dub it was named something along the lines of hyper charge Every turn or everytime u finish one race turn u get one point to use on spells This gimick limited spell usage 😊
When it comes to Yugioh, a few things to consider: Sevens and Go Rush are directly connected and made for a more childish audience, but they still have dark aspects. ALL Yugiohs wind up getting dark to some degree. Some yugiohs start dark(original, 5DS, Vrains), and some start more childish but BECOME dark(GX, Zexal, Arc V). That help you out?^^ (And severely suggest reacting to the japanese intros too.^^)
5ds and Zexal are the absolute best with Vrains coming right after. you are right about the VR and data stream for Vrains. so they are basically surfing the net
Watched a bit late, so someone may have commented this already. 5Ds also has some unique duels where you play on motorcycles called Speed Duels. Generally speaking the faster you are going allows you to do more things, and there are ways you can be slowed down, like having to avoid attacks while riding etc, where once you slow down it takes longer to catch up. Yugioh is a classic for sure, and I still enjoy collecting it, and sometimes playing it today. (Yes it is completely different from how it started.)
Arc V had the highest potential to be the best tbh they brought back old archetype decks from other series and old characters. But they botched the ending. Best rage moment in all of Yugioh is in ArcV
So the first one is yugi moto/ Yami yugi he uses a dark magician/ a strategy deck. The second one is Jaden yuki who uses a elemental hero deck which is based on fusionm.and in season 2 he gets a new deck called neo spacain. The third is yusei fudo he uses a stardust/ junk deck for syncro summoning. The fourth I'd named Yuma tskumo he uses a utopia deck for xyz summoning. The 5th is yuya sakaki. He uses an odd eyes/ pendulum deck for pendulum summoning..The 6th one is yusaku fujiki. He uses a code talker deck for link summoning. And the names are yugioh duel monsters. Yugioh gx, yugioh 5d's, yugioh zexal, yugioh arcv, yugioh vrains, yugioh sevens
GX is actually good once you get into it. First episode will have you hooked. I was against watching GX but it's my 2nd favorite. 5ds is cool. I enjoyed the story of Arc V and enjoying Xexal. Original is still my favorite Yugioh series.
As a fan of the anime and an actual player I can say that VRAINS is the most mature with 5Ds following close behind. The rest are more light-hearted. Except for the last 1-2 seasons. All of the shows get a bit more dark in the last seasons.
Well this was a surprise, I haven't watched Yugioh in years, and the most I know about the series beyond Arc-V comes from playing Duel Links lol. GX is probably my favorite series, there's just something so iconic to it, even more than the original. 5D's is a very serious/dark series, which probably makes the following two seem "childish", though both Zexal and Arc-V are quite saccharine ... having bright colors and younger characters but equally dark storylines. Zexal's protagonist starts as a total newbie, making mistakes left and right, but the high stakes (and his much-more-skilled partner) force him to up his game quite quickly on his journey to save three worlds. Arc-V goes a step further cause despite the MC having the "Performapal" deck with its dressed-animals and whatnot, the overall story deals with a literal war between dimensions based upon the previous series', and I love how Arc-V adds facets from all of them, whereas the others could be considered completely separate (save for a few things in GX). I don't know much for the series beyond them, but from what little I do know, Vrains is basically the "second coming of 5Ds" as far as the tone goes. From what Ive seen through playing Duel Links, Sevens returns to childlike comedy, but I don't know if it gets more serious tones later or not. As far as themes go, this is a hard one ... 1. 5Ds 2. GX 3. Zexal 2 (Halfway to Forever) 4. OG 5. Zexal 1 (Take a Chance) 6. Arc-V And then Vrains and Sevens in dead last.
GX - children's card games in prep school. Different-dimension hijinks and genocidal depression ensue. 5D's - children's card games on motorbikes in not-Akira-land. Cyberpunk dystopia and time-travel hijinks ensue. Zexal - children's card games via augemented reality. Tournament hijinks and alien war of heaven and hell ensue. Arc-V - children's card games across the multiverse. Warzone hijinks and *_THE WORST ENDING EVER_* ensue. Vrains - children's card games in the not-Matrix and on hoverboards. More cyberpunk hijinks and deeply polarized AI ensue. Sevens - children's card games reprogrammed by grade-schoolers. School club shenanigans and robot fights in space ensue. Go Rush - children's card games _instead of_ alien civil wars. Extraterrestrial cryptid hijinks and time loops ensue.
There's also Yu-Gi-Oh! Season 0, the original series that focused more on the shadow games applied to any game rather than just the card game. Though never saw a western release.
oooh i hope you do the japanese intros too the english ops are pretty good, the 5ds one being my personal favourite, but the japanese 5ds openings are another level of awesome
Im 23 and yu gi oh has been my biggest passion since my early teans, from both the game and the animes, so i would LOVVVVVE if you tried reacting to the different yu gi oh spin offs, fore me chosing a favorite yu gi oh anime is diffecult as i love Them all fore very different reasons, thoug the original is my least favorite (hot take i know) as i dont really have nostalgic fore it, like fare to many yu gi oh fans out there seems to have, that being Said they also all have different flaws to Them, that other people dosent like them fore having, a funny pattern i have noticed, is that they Seem to do there shows, so the next one dossent do its predecessers mistakes, F.eks (wont spoil the plots, but are spoiling its mistakes) zexal startet of slow and had only a few main chareckters that was really meaningfull to the plot, yet it cassuly Got better the longer it ran, and was at its abselout BEST when it ended, there where people that dident like that, so Arc v respontet by giving us ALOT of chareckters to the point the writters lost track, it also startet out as a banger, but unfurtunently slowly lost quality the longer it ran, and ended op being at its WORST when it ended, and then there came people that dident like it fore that, that being Said it was the most ambitios spin off that they tried to make, so they tried doing many things, and toke alot of chances, but because of how it all ended, Vrains ended op being a Series that only tried doing a few things, and dident take that many chances. End of writing mistakes spoilers Wich one would i recommend the most? Well i would recomend Zexal and 5ds the most, because 5ds has the most awsome momments, and Zexal has the best handeling of its story, then i would recomend Vrains next, as that had tried to tell a mature story, and has the most realistic one out off all of them, then we have gx wich is kinda a mix, as they dident have a set plan when they made it, and the show toke some time to find its footing, but when it found its footing, it really did found it, (it was basicly a slice of life show with a plot in the background, doing its first half, but then slowly moved away from that) thoug it is a good watch all the way thoug, if you like more humor focust shows, and lastly i recommend Arc v, not at all because its bad, but because you get a better experience if you have already watch the Four previus shows when you finaly do watch it, do to the things that happens in them, and while it overall could have been handelt better at places, its still awsome fore what it is, and it has my favorite charecters in the whole frainciess. Your problebly wondering where sevens is in this alalysise, Well i dident really write about it because after Vrains Konami switcht partnership with the studio that made yu gi oh animes, so the formular that every yu gi oh show was made from op to Vrains, was frown out the vindue, in favor of the way the new studio likes to make there shows, it also stopt focusing on the duel monsters game completly, in order to introduce a new simplified kid friendly version of the game, that is nowhere near as intriguing a game, that they Call rush dueling, to put it simplily everything after Vrains is not really duel monsters animes, but rush dueling animes, so you dont have to watch it, but if you fell Like watching an anime that is fundamently different, then go ahead.
The yugioh anime have some pretty dark themes in their stories. 5Ds was a class war mixed in with some time travel Zexal was dealing with childhood trauma mixed with an alien invasion. ARC V taught you to smile when things are at their bleakest mixed it’s an interdimensional war Vrains was Humanity vs Skynet Sevens I’m not sure of as I technically stopped during vrains. But I know it mentioned Rush Duels, a new format from the irl game
Grew up on GX and love it to this day while 5Ds premiered just in time when I was getting more mature so it hit straight off the bat. Both are tied with me and honestly would want reactions in this order: 5Ds, GX, Original, Zexal, and whatever order the rest
The main character of 5Ds is Yusei Fudo. Also Zexal has 2 unique English intros. The second intro is called Halfway To Forever. It’s the intro for the second season.
The fact that he didn’t react to Halfway to Forever actually made me a little sad it’s so good and different from take a chance which is also great

Battle City and Enter The Shadow Realm have a remix of the original “your move” intro.
They did Vrains dirty, going from one of the best Japanese intros of the franchise, (With The Wind), to just "here have some music."
Japanese intro is sick and the English version is a call music piece just not a great theme song
In its defense just some music is really good
Early Plot of 5D's:
After the event known as the 'Zero Reverse Incident'.
Still the best premise for a yugioh! series ever.
Honestly I love the whole "card games on motorcycles" and how the concept of the D-Wheel actually has a purpose in the entire series.
"Duel monsters on D-Wheels!"

Zexal is a great yugioh series.
Zexal isn't as popular as those before, but to be honest, not only that I grew up with it, but also, I just loved to see how Yuma got better and better as a duelist, instead of being at the start, one of the best
Definitely liking as I would like to see a yugioh reaction
It's definitely a possibility.
I wanna see someone react to GX so badly XD
You mean 5d
GX and 5ds are excellent! Zexal has a slow start, but once you get invested, it’s really good and is probably my favorite despite some of criticisms I have on it.
GX has a slow start too. the first half of season 1 is very episodic and pretty silly. But that just makes the rest of the show shine more ^^
Zexal got way too much hate as world duel carnival has some great duels/moments but once you hit the barian arcs its an absolute banger of a show
@kinoire I think that depends on your taste.
"Does Yugioh just get weirder and weirder with each series?"
It did. But they kind of hit peak weirdness with Arc V and dialed it back after that.
I loved the idea and concept for ARC-V's plot, the execution at the end not so much. But it was still a fun and exciting watch 'till it hit that point. At least to me.
In Arv V, how weird are we talking exactly?
@@AlexCoker-wg7qw Starts off as a series about a circus performer, then somehow turns into a big dimensional war where alternate realities are trying to destroy each other because they each only use one extra deck mechanic and think the other dimension's extra deck mechanics are blasphemous. And the main character is 1/4 of a guy.
@@TheLordTash That is strange, wtf
SO a bit of context since you were out of the loop for each series after Dual Monsters
GX: Dual Academy, a place built by Seto Kaiba to teach kids how to play Dual Monsters
5Ds: Set in the future both Regular Dueling and Turbo/Speed Dueling(Riding the Duel Runners or Motorcycles) exist with the latter only being possible thanks to a new energy source the system uses called Inner D which was caused by the Zero Reverse 18 years prior to the Story Starting
5Ds was also the start of the Extra Deck adding new summoning systems, in this case the Synchro Summoning System which involves a monster from the Main deck called a tuner being used alongside a non tuner to summon a Synchro Monster from the extra deck without the use for a fusion spell card
Zexal: much like the first series the MC is helped by someone in his body only before it was the Pharoh for Yugi, Astral is an Alien and I can't say anymore than what's shown in the first episode of that show
This was the start of the XYZ(Said as one word not X Y Z) summoning system where 2 or more monsters of the same level are overlayed(think layered on top of one another) to summon an XYZ monster from the extra deck
ARCV: Dueling along side your summoned monster in a format called Action Duels where real solid vision allows the duelist and the monsters to shine side by side in far more interactive duels for the amusement of onlookers, a duelest who does this is called a Performance Duelist like the MC Yuya Sakaki and his missing Father
This is where another summoning system was added but unlike the former isnt about summoning a stronger monster but a bunch of monsters, Pendulum Summoning, its the most complicated of the summoning systems but to summerize as much as I can, you use two pendulum monsters as scales by placing them in the pendulum scales on either side of the board, then if those cards have different values like 1 and 8, you can simultaniously summon multiple monsters from your hand or face up in the extra deck between those numbers Ie 2-7, the reason I said face up in the extra deck is because when pendulum monsters get destroyed they go to the extra deck not the graveyard unless banished
Vrains: Dueling can now be done in a virtual space called the Vrains and there's another kind of dueling system called Speed Duels(Different to Turbo Duels) unlike Regular Master Duel, Speed Duels only use 3 Monster and Spell/Trap card zones plus an additional Zone called the Extra Monster Zone(This is solely for monsters summoned from the Extra Deck or for Old Yugioh the Fusion Deck)
Link summoning is the last of the new summoning methods for base Yugioh as Rush duels are a different format all together, Link Summoning is similar to XYZ summoning as it doesnt require a special card or monster type, you simply need as many monsters as needed for a link monsters link rating, so link 1 needs one monster, link 2 needs 2 and so on
SevenS: The MC created a whole new format for playing Yugioh called Rush Duels, Rush Duals are similar to Speed Duels in that they make the duel mat smaller but the point is it changed 2 major things about Yugioh, You always draw until you have 5 cards in hand every turn, and you can normal summon as much as you want so long as you can, meaning you can normal summon 3 level 4s and sacrifice 2 of them to summon out a level 7 or 8 monster, or sacrifice all 3 for a level 10 or higher, the MC did this because he found that master duel(regular format) was too restrictive and not fun and he wanted people to enjoy playing Yugioh again(a not so subtle way of talking about how the actual format of Yugioh got so complicated old fans feel like they cant return to the game and people in the format feel you barely even get a turn with how fast decks are at making unbreakable boards)
4:30 React Zone to answer your questions about 5D's, first the name of the MC is Yusei Fudo and second the mechanics of the card game on motorcycles is called turbo duels (Riding Duel in the Japanese Anime) and are a type of Duel that can only be played by using a "Duel Runner" (the motorcycles).
mechanics/Rules of a Turbo Duel:
That was unexpected!
Yu-Gi-Oh is the second thing after beyblade in my heart

I enjoyed YuGiOh when I was a kid/teenager but fell out before the first anime ended. It'd be cool to revisit the first series and experience the rest alongside our community.

For the first 6 shows the Yu-Gi-Oh series can pretty much be classified into two categories:
1. Is dark from the beginning and mostly stays on that level (DM, 5Ds, VRAINS(?))
2. Is very light-hearted and a bit silly at the beginning of the show, but get's incredibly dark. Sometimes even darker than the shows in category 1. (GX, ZEXAL, ARC-V)
Pleas tell me you will do the Japanese openings next XD

Yu-Gi-Oh GX and 5D's are everybit as great as the original. Also when 5D's was coming out they held a voting competition where fans play the songs and vote for which songs they wanted as the theme song for 5D's. If I remember correctly there were like 5 different songs. I voted for Over Drive. Haha
Would love to see a Yugioh reaction. Also Zexal actually has a second English opening
vrains is also mostly in a VR world with a much more dark story it is really good
Vrains was amazing

The reason why in Arc V why they're riding the monsters is because there's something called "Solid vision" that basically allows you to ride your monsters and interact with the land
Yugioh 5D’s season 1 and 2 are fucking GOATED
Turbo duels have a permanent field spell called Speed World active that only allows the use of Speed Spells, which need speed cointers, instead of regular spells.
Zexal also has a second theme song.

4:43 if I remember right there are cards used only when dueling on a motorcycle so yeah there is a game mechanic made especially for dueling on motorcycles
YuGiOh Zexal is my personal favorite series, it has the best characters of any of the series in my opinion.
And the halfway to forever opening is my number 1 fav
Vrains as well I'd recommend, but I'd build up to Arc-V and Vrains before jumping right into them. ... I'd also recommend avoiding Zexal, you may like it but.... eh...
Just a little note, GX takes place 10 years after the end on DM
Vrains basically Plays Duel links While sevens updated the style and the rules.
5Ds op is definitely my favorite
2:40 oh dear... looks like someone should watch the anime with me because oof
There's one intro you missed. Halfway to forever
Excited for GX Remastered next year!!

The protagonist of GX uses HERO cards specifically E-Hero or Better known as Elemental HEROes
I do recommend reacting to the jp openings and reacting to the Japanese anime in general
Yes, no more finger guns (as funny as they were XD) and cut and censored content in general.
Yugioh 5D's was one of the first series I became a big fan of.
Hard to believe that the game is 25 years old
You gotta react to the Digimon intros now
I recommend you watch the Japanese openings that way you can get a better feel for each series then you can choose which one to watch
You should react to the japanese openings to get a better understanding of sevens and go rush. Sevens is trying to push rush duels which is kind of a reboot to yugioh game
To answer some of your questions:
Duel Monsters, GX, 5D's - You know the basics,
Zexal - Had a second opening "Halfway to forever", and my favourite, the blue one is like the Pharaoh,
Arc-V - Soild vision had development adding mass to feel the surroundings and monsters,
Vrains - The data storm introduced the Speed duel format, and Duel Links rules adding Skills you can activate,
Sevens - One of them is a part of a band, and brought the Rush duel.
Yugioh Zexal also has a second English Opening
And an amazing video as usual
5d has like spell counter (sry if i gave wrong name)
And spells cost now
Example monster reborn could be 3 spell cost
This doesnt aply to monsters
Im rly not sure but for my dub it was named something along the lines of hyper charge
Every turn or everytime u finish one race turn u get one point to use on spells
This gimick limited spell usage

OG ygo is timeless but my favourite is gx.
The last one is called link summoning
When it comes to Yugioh, a few things to consider:
Sevens and Go Rush are directly connected and made for a more childish audience, but they still have dark aspects.
ALL Yugiohs wind up getting dark to some degree.
Some yugiohs start dark(original, 5DS, Vrains), and some start more childish but BECOME dark(GX, Zexal, Arc V).
That help you out?^^ (And severely suggest reacting to the japanese intros too.^^)
i named my yorkie yugi after the first yugioh protaginist
5ds and Zexal are the absolute best with Vrains coming right after. you are right about the VR and data stream for Vrains. so they are basically surfing the net
I come back to take a chance every now and again and start tearing up. There is another opening for zexal u missed tho
Turbo, not speed, speed duels is the 3 monster and spell/traps zone
@@varisrevolver4061 Ah ok. Turbo duels with speed world used and speed counters yeah my bad. (They should swap the names 😅)

Yes but english intro. This is very Bad. Jap intro are better and each série are three or five intro.
LETS GOOOOO

GX is actually good once you get into it. First episode will have you hooked. I was against watching GX but it's my 2nd favorite.
5ds is cool. I enjoyed the story of Arc V and enjoying Xexal.
Original is still my favorite Yugioh series.
Classic Yu-Gì-Oh! is my #1 anime, even 20+ years later. Classic YGO forever!
As a fan of the anime and an actual player I can say that VRAINS is the most mature with 5Ds following close behind. The rest are more light-hearted. Except for the last 1-2 seasons. All of the shows get a bit more dark in the last seasons.
I think Revolver/ Varis is probably the best rival in the series behind Seto Kaiba
Please react to the Japanese Yu-Gi-Oh! opening’s some time?! A lot of them are SO fire!! :)
Will you react to all op jp version??
1. 5Ds
2. GX
3. Zexal 2 (Halfway to Forever)
4. OG
5. Zexal 1 (Take a Chance)
6. Arc-V
And then Vrains and Sevens in dead last.
GX - children's card games in prep school. Different-dimension hijinks and genocidal depression ensue.
5D's - children's card games on motorbikes in not-Akira-land. Cyberpunk dystopia and time-travel hijinks ensue.
Zexal - children's card games via augemented reality. Tournament hijinks and alien war of heaven and hell ensue.
Arc-V - children's card games across the multiverse. Warzone hijinks and *_THE WORST ENDING EVER_* ensue.
Vrains - children's card games in the not-Matrix and on hoverboards. More cyberpunk hijinks and deeply polarized AI ensue.
Sevens - children's card games reprogrammed by grade-schoolers. School club shenanigans and robot fights in space ensue.
Go Rush - children's card games _instead of_ alien civil wars. Extraterrestrial cryptid hijinks and time loops ensue.
That was Jaden elemental heroes, Zane, cyber dragons and Alexa. With cyber bladers silly goose
There's also Yu-Gi-Oh! Season 0, the original series that focused more on the shadow games applied to any game rather than just the card game. Though never saw a western release.
Yes but Season zéro is only Jap.

zexal startet of slow and had only a few main chareckters that was really meaningfull to the plot, yet it cassuly Got better the longer it ran, and was at its abselout BEST when it ended, there where people that dident like that, so Arc v respontet by giving us ALOT of chareckters to the point the writters lost track, it also startet out as a banger, but unfurtunently slowly lost quality the longer it ran, and ended op being at its WORST when it ended, and then there came people that dident like it fore that, that being Said it was the most ambitios spin off that they tried to make, so they tried doing many things, and toke alot of chances, but because of how it all ended, Vrains ended op being a Series that only tried doing a few things, and dident take that many chances.
End of writing mistakes spoilers
Wich one would i recommend the most?
5Ds was a class war mixed in with some time travel
Zexal was dealing with childhood trauma mixed with an alien invasion.
ARC V taught you to smile when things are at their bleakest mixed it’s an interdimensional war
Vrains was Humanity vs Skynet
Sevens I’m not sure of as I technically stopped during vrains. But I know it mentioned Rush Duels, a new format from the irl game
Dude are you going to watch Yugioh next?! Let’s go!
