2007 BMW 750 Li
Driver side window is making noise and would not go down. The window is stuck.
The problem was the window regulator cable was tangled around that round thingy.
What do you call that??
*WINDOW INITIALIZATION*
Car is ON but not start.
The window has to be closed and all the doors closed.
Press button to "up" and hold for 15 seconds
After 15 seconds, press down and the window will go down automatically.

I did a DIY replacement on similar system on 2011 Mercedes Benz E550 back in 2018. It was worse than the BMW. Instead of plastic turn fasteners, they were rivets, I had to drill out almost 10 rivets... and riveted all of them back after replacing regulator cable and motor.
ohh man that's a pain in the butt to drill off the rivets. thanks for the experience you had.

Is there any loose bolts/screws to be tightened so that it needs no replacing?

just been taking care of my dad in guam till he passed away in december 2022
Hope that Dorman regulator motor unit holds up. I've had 3 break on my son's car. They last for a while then break. Finally got an OEM one from Toyota.
my friend said it's still working good
Hugh, did the Dorman ones carry a lifetime warranty? That's the only other reason why I go that route... Sure, labor and down time, but I can't afford to pay for OEM parts (I stick with OEM on sensors and spark plugs for sure)
@@ricebike Yes they do have a lifetime warranty but it's a pain to keep replacing the same part over and over. I do always go toyota OEM on plugs, O2 sensors etc but haven't had much luck with aftermarket parts.
@@FixItAngel that's great! BMW's can be rough to work on. Gone are the days of simple German cars like my first 72 super beetle. Rebuilt the motor on my mom's back patio on an old coffee table😄
@@hughkoontz2166 son had a Mazda 3. OEM rear shock mounts casted in cheap chinesium aluminum & will break if one drives over bumpy roads or potholes.
Dorman was the only manufacturer that made it out of steel with a lifetime warranty.
That's one of the reasons I use something like that.
And yes, OEM for sensors or anything electronic unless proven that it's reliable
Bmw are a joke not interested on buying one but a great video to watch keep up the good work
