So beautiful, I can only imagine what Tracy must have been feeling duetting with the great man and it breaks my heart to think about the great man not being with us any more. God bless her and God rest Luciano. ❤ 💔 ❤ 💔

LOOK AT TRACY SMILING AT MR. PAVAROTTI. SO HAPPY TO BE LISTENING TO ANOTHER EXTAORDINARY VOICE OTHER THAN HER OWN. HUMBLE AND A TRI-ATHLETE TO BOOT. SINGER/SONGWRITER/MUSICIAN. SHE NEED TO BE IN THE R&R HALL OF FAME. GOING TO FIND THAT OUT RIGHT NOW.

I worked in a French bakery run by lovely Jewish Woman on the upper west side of Manhattan. Robert De Niro came in for coffee and croissants or almond pastries almost daily....her song was a hit at the time.....I was going through an terrible break up.....I was just hooking up with another lover.........I cried through ever shift.....I wept daily.

FANTASTIC! Please listen to her singing the entire song alone. Tracy wrote it. RIP PAVAROTTI.

I can understand why she is placed in the genre of folk. She has sang quite a bit about social injustice. She is known for her social activism and political engagement. Similar to Dylan the way he used his platform to promote social change. But she certainly crossed into other styles like pop and R&B. (IMO) Here's another one of her very popular hits "Tracy Chapman - Bang, Bang, Bang (Official Video)" Great reaction thanks

This was great Rory...I usually listen only to Tracy...just her voice, those words, and that guitar...that's enough to send me wherever I want to be. "All That You Have Is Your Soul", on the album or live @ Oakland Coliseum, 1988 is indescribable.
But soooo many great artists appreciate her talent and want to collaborate with her. Here are just some:
Tracy and BB King, "The Thrill Is Gone", live on Letterman, 1997
Tracy and Eric Clapton, "Give Me One Reason", live, 1999....(but PLEASE listen to Tracy alone on this fantastic song, too)
And, just for a BLUESY good time, Bonnie Raitt with Tracy, Beth Hart, Jeff Beck and others honoring Buddy Guy at the Kennedy Center Awards, 2012 by performing "Sweet Home Chicago"...FUN! (also: Beth Hart and Jeff Beck did "I'd Rather Go Blind" at this same performance... WOW)

This was fabulous - now could you react to Tracy's "Give Me one Reason" video? It's another great one.

If I had to categorize her music genre, I would say she was, "singer/songwriter".
She's amazing. I love her songwriting. Her 1st album, is a masterclsss, in songwriting. And her voice, is so real & raw, but beautiful & soulfoul. She's such a talent & a treasure.
    Please check out :
    - Gimme One Reason
    - For My Lover
    - She's Got Her Ticket
Thanks. Thanks for the reactions. Take care.

❤ Love the contrast btwn their styles. Pavarotti did a bunch of great collabs - Eric Clapton, Sting, Lionel Richie, Sheryl Crow, Jon Bon Jovi, Barry White (!) ...but my fave has to be with *James Brown* doing *It's a Man's, Man's, Man's World* --> th-cam.com/video/GaB9F3R9cIY/w-d-xo.html

@@karenfryberger4260🙂 Rory spoils me. 😄 But I'm only feeling semi-guilty about it because it can be a chicken/egg thing... when I send requests and then he asks for more, or something specific... 😄

Pavarotti looked a little nervous but man, he did an awesome job! This was really special and Tracy Chapman held her own. Great reaction!!
