To me the mix is great! Just because you hear every little detail of what Guthrie is playing! And as we all know, Guthrie loves all sounds and details. I´m sure, this was the purpose of BendNote.
I'm just going to say it and I've heard a lot. In this genre there are very few who can compete with this gentleman. For me he is the best. Even Max likes him.
It is amazing to me that in his fast legato runs when he's on the lower part of the neck he pretty much uses only three fingers on his left hand, with his pinky floating well away from the fretboard. Everything I've ever read has told me that this is a horrible habit I have that must be corrected but obviously not! Great video by the way, you are amazing Guthrie!
Hello, Mix works well I think ... perhaps it's a matter of taste ... sometimes youtube encoding change some frequencies and it change the final feeling of the mix ... it also depend on your hardware... the HD version is available on Bendnote ;-) Best regards Jean - BendNote Team

Anyway, just listened to the video again with headphones (which are nice to guitar frequencies) and I still think there's a lack of Guthrie's guitar presence due to the loudness of the backing track - although the mix is not terrible as I've said before. Still, it's a good video with fantastic playing, so thanks for posting it! Cheers

It says something like "interviews on topics related to JamLessons", "Video: Impro+Interview", "GG tabs", "GG Rock BT" etc... I doubt anyone will buy the lesson based on this stingy amount of information

Wikdone I'm pretty sure Guthrie never took a lesson from Joe, and he surpassed anything Joe could have taught him early on. The teacher has only has a small role to play anyway; no teacher can really claim credit for the achievements of their students. They facilitate learning and are important for inspiration, problem solving and direction, but all the real work of becoming an artist is up to the student, as many painfully learn when they fail to put in the time needed to improve between lessons.

He has played with a lot of other really great guitarists, from what I understand on other projects. His work with Asia still stands as one of my fav bands. He is indeed a great guitarist, with his own great unique sound, & pure talent.
I think terrible is an exageration, but there is a definitive lack of presence of Guthrie`s guitar in the mix, comparing it with Guthrie`s jams in the jamtrackcentral videos for example

lesson one.... find someone to fix your guitar... like all the great guitarist do..so you hardly have to touch the strings....no pressure at all to play
The playing is phenomenal as Govan always is and the track is cool but come on BendNote guys, this mix is terrible. Some aspects of the backing track are way too loud and Guthrie's guitar doesn't sit well in the mix. It's a shame.
