  • I know this isn't my normal nursing content but thought it would be interesting to share. About a week ago I started experiencing skin sensitivity and what appears to be dermatographia.
I won't be uploading my normal content until I can get ahold of the symptoms I am experiencing, so I wanted to share this so my few subscribers know what is going on.
I am still posting on my website and blog so be sure to continue to check over there.

I didn’t know this had a name. Usually this happens to me when I carry a bag over my arm like when coming in from the car carrying bags. Also happens when I lean something on my forearm like my iPad while I’m watching it. The red marks sometimes turn into raised hives that last an hour or so and are itchy. In my blood tests I often have high levels of EOS - Eosinophils - which to my understanding are evidence of an allergy of some kind going on in the body. None of my doctors ever thought High levels eosinophils matter. Only a naturopath paid attention to it. Anyway thanks cuz now I know what I have has a name!

Within half an hour I'll get relief from that situation. This antihistamine gives me a one and half day relief ( 36 to 48 hours of relief) after that same thing happen again. It's been 3 months I'm dealing with it. I have researched a lot, everyone saying it will not go away. I feel depressed some times, I dono when I'll return to my normal life again, antihistamines helping me but this condition reduced my quality of life and slightly increased my depression
Anyhow I hope for the best, hope I'll return back to my normal life soon.
      Be strong everyone🙏

My dermatologist prescribed me two allergy medicines. (If you think about it, your body is responding to touch with an allergic reaction. So think of it as being allergic to touch). Xyzal (levocetirizine) and Allegra (fexofenadine) are both over the counter antihistamines that can stop the itching for a little over 24 hours. Works wonders for me.
