Yes! A crime to cover it! But love the layout of the design. Not a fan of the black countertop or kitchen sink. Ahh you articulated what I couldn't put my finger on! On the one hand it's colourful and playful, but on the other hand it feels very sterile... It doesn't feel like a home to me, it feels like an office space.
@@babettedejong2975 To me it looks a bit like a retail design, or a showroom, esp. the zigzag book shelf in the living room. It's a bit too much about the presentation of things. In general I love this apartment tho and there's many details that are really well thought out and practical. Which is not always the case.
They mentioned that the client is a dentist, and it reminds me of a dentist's office... lots of white walls, a very clinical sitting room with chairs you'd expect to see in a waiting room, and weird curtains to partition off surgery from rest of the office.
yup feels very museum like not a living space, everything is too beautiful and too intentional like if you moved it, everything would be off, or if you had a book in the wrong place, just feels like I'd be stressed living there and I'm someone with a tidy space as is
I am in awe of the space. 58 square meters is a lot for a one-bedroom apartment. I love it she used egg yoke yellow to brighten up the palet. The colours are used beautifully. The zigzags are not my thing, especially since cleaning seems hard. I am so happy they weren't allowed to change the outside of the door. It is stunning.
This is something else, design wise. I am surprised by how much I like how colours were used for each area. The carpet with the gradient colours is beautiful! I'd probably trip over that terracota jug on the carpet. Though probably practical, shifting those curtains all the time would be annoying to me. I especially like the side areas of the kitchen, pantry and laundry. Well thought out.
I love the pleated blue curtain, it's just like living in a hospital ! The bedroom headboard is pure 80's. Unusual and fun ! (Someone should pick-up that terracotta urn that has fallen over in the living room too).
I really like the use of color in this apartment. It gives it so much more life and energy than the usual all white spaces often shown on this channel. It's a very elegant apartment.
This is the first design on Never Too Small that truly wowed me. It's beautiful, simple & colourful at the same time. I'd love to live there. It brought me so much joy watching the space unfold.
Color blocking each area to section off the home is such a good idea! The blue curtain that closes off the living room that then becomes a backdrop to the display area is absolutely beautiful! I've never seen something like that before.
I like the open, airy, serene feeling of the apartment with its neutral colours, gorgeous marble flooring (very cooling for hot Spanish summers), and clever storage spaces. I also like the pops of colour with the blue curtain (doubling as a potential guest bedroom) as well as hits of green and yellow in the study area, kitchen, and closet spaces to prevent the neutral apartment from looking cold, uninviting, or sterile. Amazing job! :)
There are a lot of very nice architectural touches in this home. I particularly like the staggered bookcase. Also the 'pockets' of colour, which don't shout at you, but are discoverable.
I know that this channel has been moving more and more away from small apartments and the like, but I fail to understand how renovating a 3 bedroom apartment into a 1 bedroom apartment has to do with the ethos of renovating apartments in cities to make them more functional increasing density instead of tearing down and building new apartments (which I thought the old initial videos were about).
agreed, as a one bedroom apartment this one is actually quite big and not difficult to design, especially since it has a long balcony with lots of sunlight
The blue curtain track concept was brilliant. Spectacular way to create a completely separate moment in that coved corner when not in use to divide the space. Absolutely the most clever bit to this entire space.
Some really beautiful details in this apartment! Great storage and aesthetically interesting. But if they’d kept a second bedroom/study, there still would have been space for a living/dining room opposite the kitchen while still maintaining the value of a two bedroom apartment. And I probably wouldn’t call that a “walk-in” wardrobe.
There are some lamentable choices made here: why turn a three bedroom into a one bedroom apartment full of wasted space? Why would you need privacy in the lounge (using a fussy mechanism like the blue curtain) in a one-bedroom apartment where at the most a couple would live? The dining area is big enough for a living space for a two bedroom apartment. The bookcases don't look less cluttered. The pops of colour are interesting -- although the curtain behind the mini bar looks like an alcove in funeral home.
funny how tastes differ, i thought the mini bar alcove doubling as a plinth for a vase or a sculpture was among the more successful solutions. for some people, an apartment being functional does not trump the sensory or aesthetic experiences. if i lived there, just looking at that alcove would make me smile every day.
I don't mind the curtain thing, but they would have easily adjusted the living room/dining area like you said. Easily could have had kept a small small narrow room for just a full sized mattress. Boom, you have a 2nd bedroom/guest room.
Not a big fan. It feels to sterile for me, but most of all: for a single person, this is a very comfortably sized apartment - it almost has loft-vibes. I don't get why they didn't keep at least one extra bedroom, so the apartment could adapt to a changing family situation or even have a guest staying over for more than a night. Plus, that is a tiny kitchen for such an apartment with so much living space... It's a miss for me
This apartment took my breath away! I was absolutely in awe of all the fresh, clever design elements, colours and use of curtains! That green kitchen was gorgeous as was the living room curtain and the amazing zig zag shelves. This renovation is definitely one of the most unique, fun, functional AND beautiful projects you’ve ever shown!
this is one of my fave, like everything about this design and this apartment is so pretty and perfectly planned, this is why hiring an architect is a win at the same time gives you convenience and ease that the house you want and you deserve will be executed. Kudos to the design team and the client, this is superb! 👏
This is beautiful and modern, quite impractical if you think of the details. The curtains are not very functionalnor useful, the zigzag in the kitchen is going to be very hard to clean, none of the doors have a handle and a lot of important appliances are hidden in rooms in the kitchen
curtains are the solution to many designs, the trick is how to achieve it without looking cheap and last minute thought. This is how is done. Love the pops of color and the hidden shelves, a very clean and creative way to display without displaying. Bravo muchachos lo hicieron bien. Y OLE!
I love that on the surface, many of the architectural design choices give the onlooker a sense of simplicity and when you take a sharper look it's intricacies are perfectly balanced between artistic and complex yet livable for one's daily life...
This is one of my all time favourite videos ! There is a lot of personality in this flat. Congratulations to both architects. I would move in in a heartbeat and this place is what I will be looking for when I retire.
The curtains are such an obvious, simple solution that I’m surprised we don’t see them more often. The dining table with its own niche is simply brilliant, and I also like the shelving in the living space (I could even imagine putting doors in some of the niches for added kitchen storage). But aside from the limited kitchen storage and counter space, this apartment is wonderful.
We don't see it more often, because it's been tried and found insufficient for actual privacy. It's like they're trying to reinvent the wheel, but in a deadened, clinical way despite the use of colours.
Thank you for stating what I am reminded of every time I see these ceiling-mounted rail curtains. I rent a 1BR near Chicago and continue to search for a renter-friendly way to separate my bed from the living area -- I use the bedroom as a studio.
It's one of the most unique apartments I have seen in recent years. The unique use of warm colours (that seems to need fixing) creates a fantastic balance between energetic and calm energy. I encountered a lot of feelings while looking at the video. I'll definitely keep this apartment in mind in my future designs. Many thanks for bringing this content!!!
With all the tiny apartments shown on this channel where is basically impossibile to live in, there's finally something where you can actually live and the problem is cleaning? lol
What a gorgeous apartment! The angled bookcases are unique, and the coloured niches, custom-made plinth and grey-to-blue carpet are genuinely inspired. I want a carpet like that!
If I was ever ambivalent about a design before, this one trumps it. I honestly don't know if I like it or not. It's at once coolly elegant and jarring. I actually love the blue curtains becoming an actual feature by decorating the plinth but at the same time I find that space wasted and excessive and the living room curtained off as annoying. All the zigzags rub me the wrong way but I find the otherwise simplicity and purity of the design soothing and very pleasing. I love the colors except the yellow. It's a very Jekyll/Hyde experience for me. That said, I am very well aware all my problems have nothing to do with anything being objectively wrong or ugly in the design. It's because my taste does not match the client's, so while I personally wouldn't live in this apartment, there are so many things I would steal to have done in my place. Especially the colors, I can feel myself relaxing just thinking of those colors.
So many creative design features to enhance the space of this small unit. I agree, the original front door is a work of art! I love how the table slides neatly into the colorful niche as a work space. Very clever. The curtains were a nice touch but I would probably not use them unless guest wanted more privacy. It’s an interesting idea though. A very nice home in a beautiful city!
I’ve never been a fan of curtains as an alternative to walls, screens, etc. otherwise, it’s a delightful, spacious and quite livable design. A utility room!
The carpet's gradient colour from grey to blue was very smart. It flows from the grey lounge suite to the blue curtain behind the blue bar cabinet. Matching the curve of the curtain's flow is the curve of the carpet itself. The full length of the curtain can then be stored compactly around the bar cabinet with a vase of flowers like a feature in a gallery! Small but genius details like these truly shows the care taken to merge modern living with the age of the inherited apartment. So happy the original flooring was retained. A pleasure to watch again & again.
beautiful use of color. i'm surprised they don't have a wand to move the curtains. i would totally trip over that orangey vase lying artfully on the carpet.
I love this! It's elegant, but still playful with the bright colours and natural curves. Especially impressed with the two pantries for the kitchen, which allow full functionality but still maintain a clean look for the apartment 🙂
I LOVE this apartment so much. I have a few collections of things along with a large amount of books and my home always seems cluttered, which I do not like. Having the book shelf designed to be so discreet and having so much hidden storage means no clutter but you can still keep those things that are special to you and swap them out to display whenever you want to keep things from getting boring. I also loved the pops of colour, which did surprise me along with the material used to achieve the look. One of the best small spaces I have seen on here. Truly amazing. A huge thumbs up from me. I want to move right it.
The owner has sophisticated taste. The architects know their job well (even the ugly air-con was concealed). Not to mention the same shade of green to match the flowers (and the TM in the scullery explains a smaller kitchen.)! Beautiful piece of real estate. Thank you Never Too Small for another brilliant video.
This has a real WOW factor! Brilliantly designed. I for one would shy away from colour. However the use of colours and textures throughout this compact apartment is nothing short of genius! Excellent. Created something very special. Thank you for sharing.
LOVE the dinning room table that is slide into a desk position since most people eat at a breakfast nook table or TV trays and only use a full dinning room table for holidays or when you entertain. Living in a 480 square foot/ 44.5 square meters home, I love ideas for tiny living. A desk is used almost every day whether its for reading mail, paying bills, project pondering, or just to store paperwork, and I love the idea that it can be slide out and used on those rare occasions when a fully table is needed.
A new favorite on this channel. Just brilliant. LOVE the repeated zigzag design and colors, and the balance of simplicity with theatricality. The only small details I would consider adding are curtain pull wands to extend the life of the curtain fabric. ♥
I really really want in-depth details about this apartment! It’s so functional, modular yet elegant and lively! It’s a bit cold tbh but some light enhancements at night would fix it…. Absolute masterpiece.
the blue curtain is genius, and the alcove that it's stored in makes a showcase in and of itself. the front door is really stunning and so Andalucian antiquey! so appealing in color and the table and niche are well thought out for dual purposes. so much storage and enviable cozy bedroom with headboard and lights. having travelled to Spain many times for flamenco dance classes, i'd have loved to have rented a spot like this. and if i had to move from a house, this would be my choice/style of apartment. me encanta todo!
Futurista, diáfano con Pops de Color dando el giro lúdico en zonas específicas que armonizan al espacio , encantador y refrescante las inspiraciones innovadoras.
Not all the colours are to my taste but I can see using colours one likes to replicate this design. The varied positions of the living room curtain are brilliant!
I really appreciate the difference of the colors it makes each atmosphere really vibrant on their own way, also the option to use two doors fro the same bathroom depending of who will use it, is really smart, on this days is pretty important to reduce the amount of water that a project can waste. Also one of the main characters are the courteins, is useful how those can asolate one space from another, keeping an imponent personality .
I love that there is a place to stash the curtain so it looks like it belongs there. I love the splashes of color as well. It’s a lovely apartment, but it doesn’t really have room to grow built in. If she has kids or wants to have a roommate it would need another redesign to fit in a second bedroom.
The first apartment with so much personalities that I like. It clean, it has color, lots of lights as well, and it pretty much wide (sorry this is not never too small). The avocado kitchen really pleasant to look at 🥑🥑🥑 I barely see people use this color for their house and still it looks so good like this. That comfy bed with the custom made part 😍 Love ❤ Although I can't imagine myself living there, this is somehow still a dream to me, inspiration for new home in the future. Thx u, keep it up 🫶🫶🫶
This apartment is quite stylish. Obviously the client agreed to all the changes and is happy with them. It is very bright and spacious. My one question is where is the refrigerator please?
Applause! Applause! This place is awesome. The slanted shelving wall across the living room is great. I've been thinking about how to create a scullery for small kitchens and you did it expertly with the pantry and again with the laundry room! Top notch. I prefer lots of colour, possibly too much colour and you guys gave enough in your minimalism. 5 stars Would recommend
This apartment is brilliantly done, bravo! The thoughtfulness, the color, the ingenious use of space and the understanding of history brings us to this 'obra maestra' or masterpiece. I look forward to following your careers!
I have never liked the use of curtains as a space divider and I don't like it in this apartment either. I find it completely unnecessary and an inconvenience having to wash them twice a year and a hassle of closing and opening them. However I do love the use of colour in the kitchen and dining areas and my absolute favourite is the angeled shelf. It's very clever. In the bedroom again I don't see the use of curtains for the wardrobe to be value added at all. And the bed headboard is quite horrible 😅 Overall very nice, Spanish they do love their colours in their homes (and clothing) but this design is at least quite tasteful.
Hope future videos feature small apartments that are made for families. Making the most of small areas is not just redesigning a 3BR apartment into 1BR unit, but how new life can be breathed using the existing space that is still comfortable for a small family.
I watched it two times because I like it very much. An aesthetic, thoughtful and stylish renovation. I would like to live there. Feels very spacious. The balcony was missing, but my really burning question is : where is the bunny? ❤
Not my style, but I do like how well all the storage solutions have been thought out and how they help to keep the space clean and organized just like the client wanted! Very important in a smaller place.
I LOVE this apartment! So many cool, interesting design features. The slanted bookshelves ❤ The colors ❤ The zig-zag alcoves ❤ The curtain ❤ Well done!!
The contrast of the curves and zig zags, the colour blocking and neutrals, is all so thoughtful and visually pleasing. That said, I can't get over the beauty of that original exterior door.
Sounds like they kept it because they couldn’t change it (thank goodness) … what they did was add a panel on the interior to have the color continue across. At least they did that and didn’t paint that beautiful wood.

Very smart to apply colors and textures to define spaces! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Just how much talent, thoughts, precision to create this Prada master piece🤔🥰 ,perfect mood board, execution of geometry, exquisitivity.
My favorite Never Too Small! Beautiful clean lines but still looks cozy and comfortable.
I want to move right it.
love the sophisticated drama of this apartment. that gradient rug is everything.
It’s one of the most beautiful and spectacular project I’ve seen on this channel yet 😮
Smart & delightful design! Though this video is all about the blue curtain. I wish it showed the balcony & more of the concealed bookcase..
THE COLOR BLOCKING! BEAUTIFUL! VISUALLY PLEASING.
Do these videos invariably start with a person moving a curtain?
Haha! It's like going to movie theatres in the past (or live theatres) and when the curtains opened, the show was about to start. :)
😂
So impressed by this colorful and open idea design, well done!
the blue curtain is genius, and the alcove that it's stored in makes a showcase in and of itself. the front door is really stunning and so Andalucian antiquey! so appealing in color and the table and niche are well thought out for dual purposes. so much storage and enviable cozy bedroom with headboard and lights. having travelled to Spain many times for flamenco dance classes, i'd have loved to have rented a spot like this. and if i had to move from a house, this would be my choice/style of apartment. me encanta todo!
Blown away by this, functional, stylish, and fun. I could easily live there 😍
I was left wondering where the two extra dining chairs are stored… Perhaps I missed it.
I love this so much!! It's such a wonderful balance between colour, design and usage
I'm seriously impressed by the amount of storage.
the level of calm this space must provide is amazing, and the beautiful pops of color make this my favorite so far!
Bravo guys! One of the bravest and best renovations I have seen on this channel. A transformation in the truest sense of the word.
I like the clever use of bright colours and the new layout. Beautiful.
Exceptional design! Smart decisions aren't news at this channel, but these two architects do stand out 💛💛✨
I love that there is a place to stash the curtain so it looks like it belongs there.
In the closet/pantry to the right of the kitchen.
Applause!
I am obsessed with the colour of the bedroom wardrobe.
probably my fav chapter. what a great renovation
This apartment is brilliantly done, bravo! The thoughtfulness, the color, the ingenious use of space and the understanding of history brings us to this 'obra maestra' or masterpiece. I look forward to following your careers!
can we talk about the vase on the floor lol?
I have never liked the use of curtains as a space divider and I don't like it in this apartment either. I find it completely unnecessary and an inconvenience having to wash them twice a year and a hassle of closing and opening them.
However I do love the use of colour in the kitchen and dining areas and my absolute favourite is the angeled shelf. It's very clever.
In the bedroom again I don't see the use of curtains for the wardrobe to be value added at all. And the bed headboard is quite horrible 😅
Overall very nice, Spanish they do love their colours in their homes (and clothing) but this design is at least quite tasteful.
Hope future videos feature small apartments that are made for families. Making the most of small areas is not just redesigning a 3BR apartment into 1BR unit, but how new life can be breathed using the existing space that is still comfortable for a small family.
Just beautiful, and so intelligently planned. The tiny 3 bedroom apartment now looks huge! I love the zig-zags and ceiling drapes.
I watched it two times because I like it very much. An aesthetic, thoughtful and stylish renovation. I would like to live there. Feels very spacious. The balcony was missing, but my really burning question is : where is the bunny? ❤
Yes, folks, we have now seen curtain storage as ART work. Brilliant, simply genius level.
I absolutely love the concept of the built-in bookshelves and feel it is really the hero of the whole space.
I really love this apartment. Super well done with loads of interest and character. Would hire these guys in a heartbeat!!
I really appreciate your approach... I could live with that.
Florida grandma
Bravo guys. You did a great job. Thanks never too small for giving us the chance to enjoy this perfect and quality video
Not my style, but I do like how well all the storage solutions have been thought out and how they help to keep the space clean and organized just like the client wanted! Very important in a smaller place.
This looks beautiful. I'd love to see what they'd do to an actual small space as this is quite spacious.
Wow. This is a brilliant design. These different colored areas are a very cool design. I also love the hidden spaces next du the kitchen.
I LOVE this apartment! So many cool, interesting design features.
The slanted bookshelves ❤
The colors ❤
The zig-zag alcoves ❤
The curtain ❤
Well done!!
How beautiful this apartment looks. These bright colours. I could so envision living there.
