    Wow, it is mind-boggling how someone with vision, experience, and skill can transform a small space into something so functional and attractive! If I had a need, I would definitely try to hire you. Thank you for sharing your work with us.

    You really killed it! I had no idea there were radiators with integrated mirrors. Mindboggling for small spaces.

    • @barbarar5869
      @barbarar5869 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      I know! I don't know about British homes, but in Ireland they sometimes place the radiators in the most inconvenient places! This is such a cleaver solution, even without the mirror it's just a better way to utilize the space.

    I just wanted to let you know that you are incredibly talented. Unlike other interior designers who claim to work with small spaces but actually work with larger ones, you truly specialize in making cramped areas beautiful and functional. Your work is amazing!

    Have you ever thought of using the computer table as a dining table? If he can attach the screen to the wall the table could be on castors to make it easier to move. I had an Ikea sit stand desk, but swapped it for a Flexispot E7 desk instead. The E7 adjusts in height from 58 cm up to 123cm, and has much more flexibility in table top sizes, so great if you want to use the sofa bed for seating, or as a normal desk or standing height desk/kitchen island. Base will cost around the same as a sit stand desk and separate dining table. You can get a custom top to fit your space.

      This is a really great suggestion! I wonder if you could fit retractable cord reels... 🤔

    • @hearvie
      @hearvie ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@DanielTitchener you could do some cable management beneath and have it just have two one cable . Most tvs can power laptops and the speaker setup could be already attached and setup across the room like the TV. I'd actually be a nice set up

    I bought a wall bed from Arthauss and it wasn’t too expensive and it’s absolutely life changing, king size bed in a tiny space that disappears into the wall. Had it a couple of years now.

    As a starting Architect here in the Philippines, your videos really motivated me to design spaces aesthetically and efficiently. Coming from a 3rd world country, budget really affects the overall output of the design. I appreciate that u really considered the practical aspect at the same time making the space way more beautiful than it was before. Thanks Dan! 🔥👊

    Great and creative solutions for this space! But may I add, having lived in such studios for some time, that there is an element that could have been considered better in the design: everything is centered around the workspace, and the couch faces the work space. I would have done pocket doors and a closet to the ceiling with an opening for the computer screen-tv to hide the workspace so that the mind can rest from work or I would have orientated the couch towards the windows at 90 degrees. Keep up the fabulous work, I always get tons of ideas from your videos and love the computer animations!

    Thank you so much for sharing this, Daniel. Living in council property there are always things that we would rather were different because everything has been done as cheaply as possible, but it's amazing to see what can be achieved by someone who has the expertise and the imagination combined in a space this small. I personally appreciate you sharing these videos which are always entertaining and quite often very educational as well!

    Fantastic layout in the reimagined floorplan. The only thing l'd swap out is the bed, with a proper double bed sofa. Far more comfortable to sleep on.
    A single air bed for guests can be tucked away.

      I had a footrest/ puff made for my living room, then I bought a round tray from IKEA, it serves as a solid surface to put drinks when I need a "coffee table" and when I need extra seating I just move the tray somewhere else. I really like it's duality 👍😁

    Idea with desk is increadible. As a person working from home I am planniling to invest in the desk that can be adjusted to stand, but have never fought that it can also work second direction 😅 to be low enought to watch a TV/monitor a comfortable way from my bed. So simple and britiant. Thank you

  • @mysterygirl30011

    Very nice and interesting. I love my 376 sqm knee roof studio. Tiny corridor-like kitchenette, bedroom with a double bed and chest of drawers separated by a curtain, inside staircase with hanging space and shelving, cute hip bath tub bathroom, huge living areas where I fit a lot of furniture including a 6 seating table, 3 seater sofa, armchair, additional chest of drawers, several coffee tables (one glass one marble), cat tress all with hardwood floors and a shared roof terrace and additional storage low ceiling attic that serves as pantry. "Chambre de bonne" (maid's room). Bigger than the Parisian version as in a small provincial town. Is a 3 story house's former 4th floor. Came furnished so adds a vintage vibe with mix of styles. Blessings from France

    Excellent ideas for the space. If I may add some concerns, as the owner will work with partners in this little space, i would change the toilet into one with a little sink included in the upper part. That’s something we got delivered, it was not expensive and relativly easy to exchange with the one in place. But it was heavy. Upper behind, we add a half shelve for the soap and a large hook for a towel.
    Also, a diswasher in the kitchen seems quite necessary, when there is a little team..unless it can become quite smelly from the breakfast/lunch if no-one has time to wash the pan/plates.. And maybe there is a way to find the space for a wash/dryer machine in the bathroom so that it can run during the day without bothering the work. (Many appartment buildings do not allow washmachine noises for neighbours evenings, nights and sundays. After his workday in the same room, maybe the owner will not enjoy so much the washmachine noise after a couple of months.. )

    I love the outcome of this redesign, and I always love your enthusiasm! I have the Norden gateleg table and I quite love it; an option some may like is to use sliders under the legs to move it around (instead of wheels). This keeps the height of the table perfect for working on a laptop while sitting in a regular folding chair. To be fair it's not super easy to slide even with sliders, but not real difficult either, and if you're not moving your table around every day, I think it's a great option. I like how your videos encourage us to think differently about how we use space, it can open up great possibilities!

    Thank you Daniel! Great space saving ideas! I can definitely relate to the challenge of maximizing space in a small area. I just finished transforming my 200 sq ft garage into a tiny house! I have that daybed. When I have guests its not very practical as a sofa without the extra back support... i watched this vid a while ago and went to Ikea to try out the outdoor and the slightly more expensive indoor cushions for a modular sofa that you used on another video. If you have the budget, I recommend the more expensive option (apx.20 pounds extra), much better in terms of back support and providing a real sofa feel. In my current set up (a micro studio in a HMO) I'm using it more as a bed so am just using pillows and throw cushions for a sofa aesthetic when not in use. When I move to a bigger place I will need it to perform as a sofa, so I'll be getting the sofa cushions. This Is a great Ikea hack, Thanks!
