Every day, we inch closer to the coming existence of a Lego CVT that can actually function in RC Lego vehicles.

I remade the stepper mechanism as well as some automatic gearboxes from ADT5 together since they all make use of a spring. The spring isn't an official Lego part; I found it on the ground at a construction site.
I'm also experimenting with a new style in this video. Please turn on subtitles for some commentary.

Home depot has a hobby spring kit. A little package with 40-50 springs, about half are perfect for lego use.

I think I tried something like this with a differential and a steering rack instead of a spring. It was bulky but I wanted all official parts.

With websites like bricklink you can buy just the spring from the suspension, I know this because I also like to use authentic lego pieces.

a past video (ADT 5) shows variants of model 2 and 3 in a concept car. When I’m done building automatic gearboxes, I plan to dedicate a video to testing them in rough terrain, under more realistic conditions.

Where do you get the spring from?

Lego suspensions springs make it right

The one used isn’t from a Lego suspension, but those should work fine
