I really think the old house was right here and its gone

I am finding things in the ground with my metal detector that are old but it has all been spread around, probably from loggers. Continuing my exploration of the abyss here in the old NH forest I have spent days hiking and metal detecting. Lots of big old rock walls from hundreds of years ago go on and on through the now forest showing us this was old worked farm land. I think where the old potential colonial house stood has been pushed in and the cellar hole has been filled in. We do encounter that from time to time and I think this is the case. But reading the history landscape as I move around and dig up old relics people were living here for certain. Sometimes it is a mystery out in these old deserted and abandoned places because for as long as the home stead has been gone people have shifted the land in decades past.
