You have actaully explained a lot of new ways of farming and its the need for new generation. Any 1 or 2 of these if started by one of the person he can surely change his life.
Maybe you could start something with a local college that has a horticulture and/or agriculture program. They can have classes and practice real-world design, planting, and maintenance while also enjoying the fruits of their labor. Future classes would continue to add to the project.
