    It's about 4 days and I have my Denon 4 Channel DJ system and I was coming from a Traktor 4. With Tracktor has the option to save each file and a track list. This has record, which saves as a .wav track. Accessing the internet. When I hit source I don't see the internet access. I do see a icon that will enable me to my computer, because I have the blue USB connected directly to my laptop. So you do have the option in get to the hard drive, but to do this your system is in shutdown mode., I also am having problems with syncing files from one track to another. It seems that you have to turn the tack completely down or you will still hear the track. Help for anybody that has this system. Thanks, Greg

      It can't be. It's not a controller but a stand alone unit. And for perfect... join the Prime 4 Facebook group and see what owners think about that. Me, I'm selling mine.

      @@djgreggs1562 Nothing wrong about it if you don't have a specifik way you play that doesn't work with the P 4, and you have the time to wait for firmware updates that probably will make this unit really really good. Unfortunately for me, I learned to use the CDJ-mode where you set the cue point by frame. (there's 75 frames/second). When pausing the track in CDJ mode theres a stuttering sound where you just back off a beat frame by frame. When the sound of the kick/beat goes silent, you press cue. Doing it like that, you get the exactly same start position every time, and doing that 100 000's of times since 1994, I'm accurate enough to start tracks with fader up, half to full volume depending on how to progress with the transition. Vinyl mode will never be that precise, and vinyl mode is all you have on the prime 4. For me vinyl mode is just an effect mode where I can make some noise if I want to, nothing else. I'm as far from being a scratch-DJ as anyone can be. I'd rather spin with CD's on a pair of old CDJ-1000Mk3 than play on the Prime 4 if i had to chose.
      I am a full time DJ doing on average 16-17 gigs/month, many of them away for a week or more at a time and there's Pioneer gear everywhere. Pioneer stand alone gear all have the CDJ-mode with stutter, and with ''change your rider'', it never occurred to me that Denon would make a unit without it. They did! ...and despite watching EVERY review and then some for + 4 months before ordering it, no one mentioned this. I know now that for instance Rekordbox DJ, at least not with the smaller controllers, don't have CDJ-mode with stutter in the software, so obviously the Prime 4 is aimed for controller DJ's on their way up, not old farts like me who never used a controller and always use club standard gear. I sold my 6 year old CDJ-2000 Nexus 's to pay for the P 4, and now I really hope I can find a pair again that are in order and doesn't blow the bank. Before I sell the P 4 I will make a comparison video explaining and showing exactly what it is that make the P 4 something I can't use. Fortunately I also have the NXS2 setup, but I need something cheaper to bring when there's risk involved, or no or too little money for bringing my own gear. As I never use controllers, I have to get some cheaper Pioneer gear or higher end gear used in mint condition. For some DJ's I'm sure the Prime 4 will be pure heaven, but not for me. I'm not really complaining because I love the competition Denon finally give Pioneer. I just wish I'd known about this difference so I could have spend my money more wisely and saved some time.

      @jbucku324 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Exactly it's a standalone system. It's just like the sc5000s with an x1800 and those can be ran in controller mode as well but they are far from a controller. Same thing with this unit

    Wasn´t the MCX8000 the first 4 channel standalone?

    • @dj-peterofficial2753
      @dj-peterofficial2753 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, you can only use 2 ch internally in standalone mode. You have to connect external devices or run it as a controller to engage all 4 ch's. The Prime 4 is the only available true 4 ch all-in-one stand alone device.

    • @dj-peterofficial2753

      Start with formatting the SSD to FAT32. IF you're on a PC you need an external formatting tool, like ''guiformat.exe'' free to download. You need to use the windows disc manager first to format the drive so that it gets a drive letter in windows. Then guiformat.exe see the SSD and you can format it in seconds. ...and yeah, it has to be a normal mbr partition, not the extended version you choose for large drives in windows.

    I had the 5000/1800 system and it was a HUGE mistake. Mixer would lock up and become completely unusable, Engine Prime is a PITA and support from Denon was a let down. I would hold off a few months to see what actual DJ'S say about this in real world. I think everyone is fascinated by the 10 inch screen.

    Does it have a real CDJ-mode with stutter, or just vinyl and one half-ass vinyl mode where the top of the platter doesn't react to touch. Still impossible to set perfect cue points on the fly like you can with the stutter. Because I can't find it on mine.... Vinyl mode... that's too imprecise and something I left in 1994. If I want vinyl mode, there's better choices than a fully digital all extras power house DJ controller. If it can't do the basics, I've just spend close to $2000 and valuable time for a piece of garbage. Lesson learned, back to a brand that actually have gear that works, out of the box. How about the beat effects. Can you assign them to external devices too, like to a turntable, because I really hope you didn't do the same mistake as Pioneer did with their R1, where the beat effects can only be used with the internal players. Things like that are never talked about and yet it's crucial info. There's a reason why Pioneer are changing all their gear to work as a standard modular setup and has a layout on all controllers and all-in-one units that are just about the same, and external devices can be used with all the effects on the mixer. I really hope Denon doesn't repeat the mistakes Pioneer made years ago. So far, my Prime 4 has only brought disappointment, and I'm already thinking of getting rid of it as fast as possible, just as I did with my R1 when I discovered it's shortcomings behind the fancy stuff.
