I am always an advocate for Star Wars Republic Commando. I'm a big Star Wars fan, and it was nice to see a FPS comparable to Halo with the brand. I loved the squad control system that lent itself well to great storytelling, which eventually made it into the Halo series too. On top of that it stood toe to toe with other SW games from around that era like KOTOR, Lego Star Wars, and Battlefront and still stood out. I think its criminal that we never got a sequel. Led to some great books though.
I have really never heard anything bad about James Bond Agent under Fire. It's either Agent under Fire or Nightfire are people's favorite Bond games on PS2
Let's not forget areas you THINK you are supposed to go to, and because there isn't an inherent boundary you go out of your way to get somewhere, then get softlocked because you weren't supposed to be there haha.
Haha, I did enjoy Medal of honor and Medal of Honor Underground. I haven't played any others that I recall other than Rising Sun, but it's been so long I don't remember how I felt about it.
@ I think it was a PS2 title. I could be wrong. But it was awesome to play back then. Literally mowing down walls with a shotgun was so much fun. The insane asylum chapter was the best!
*sigh* you're breaking my heart here... Please look into the following Unreal Tournament (original, 2k3, 2k4, 3, etc) Duke Nukem 3d Heretic Hexen Nexuiz Red Eclipse Open Arena (I'm going to omit the deScent series and spinoffs due to being slightly different from an FPS) Alien Arena Corridor 7 Tremulous Urban Terror And that's just a start!
For me I would say... Half-Life Half-Life 2 RTCW Duke Nukem 3D Doom Goldeneye 64 Halo Crysis Killzone 2 Joint Operations Planetside America's Army 2 Dayz Mod 2012-2013 specifically Rainbow Six 3: Raven Shield Insurgency (Source version not the crappy new Unreal one) Bad Company 2 Left 4 Dead Team Fortress 2 Portal 2 (not really an FPS) Quake (software mode only) Metro 2033 I could go on but I'm mainly a PC guy and I've never liked Halo beyond the first half of the first game. I played Halo 2 and thought it sucked.... Never played another one again.
My first reaction was "Yeah, this is gonna have Halo all over the place isn't it? You really gotta play more FPS's" I did however love seeing Doom at the top of the list, it's one my fave story-lite action games, and I especially appreciate you telling me the backstory, I didn't know all of that, thanks for telling me about it. Sure wish that you had more to actually say about anything else on the list.
I get that, Halo unfortunately is one of those franchises where telling the story directly reveals the ending of the previous games, so it's tough to talk about.
Nice list... I do am sorry as for the life of me have only played Doom and Wolfenstein on this list (never had an Xbox, but Halo is also recommended to me by my bestfriend)... Hope I can play the games on this list in the future. Thanks again!
The first fps I ever played was a game called Quarantine where you drove a armed cab around a “ Escape to New York “ style city You forgot Dark Forces . To me , Doom is my favorite but I rarely play the base game . I end up playing a number of doom mods each year and have a blast with them . I played mods for Half Life and HL2 but I still replay the originals every few years .
Ahhh doom such great memories. Back in my freshman year of highschool, in one of my computer classes if we finish early are teacher would let us play doom. The thing is he wouldn't tell us how to log into it. Now this was on DOS and we had to log in teacher, then had to log in as a student then had to log into doom the game and then the death battles would begin. 😂 29 years later i still remember how. Great list bro. It you get around to it maybe do s stream of doom or duke nukem. Both are my favorite FPS. Ttyl peace!
I cherish the summer spent beating every level of Doom and Doom 2 on Ultra Violence, from a Pistol Start. (PS3. BFG edition) Doom 3 on XBox. Unbelievably good port. Best part was I connected to a second XBox, and played the game through _with_ my gf, together, in the same room.
10. Turok - Dinosaur Hunter 9. DOOM (Original) 8. Call of Duty - Black OPS II 7. Serious Sam 6. Halo 2 5. Borderlands 4. Bulletstorm 3. Borderlands 2 2. Fallout 3 1. Fallout New Vegas (yes i added those Fallout games because they are FPS mixed with RPG, so they most definitely count!)

Wolfenstine 3d, Doom, Unreal, Turok, 007 Goldeneye
I have really never heard anything bad about James Bond Agent under Fire. It's either Agent under Fire or Nightfire are people's favorite Bond games on PS2
The worst part about Halo was all the running around you had to do just to figure out where you had to go.
Let's not forget areas you THINK you are supposed to go to, and because there isn't an inherent boundary you go out of your way to get somewhere, then get softlocked because you weren't supposed to be there haha.
B.P.M Bullets Per Minute is the greatest soundtrack with a bonus game thrown in
Ooh, might need to check it out!
Aw man RB6 footage tugged on my nostalgia strings right there.
Such a great game!
If you loved Doom, then you'll love Doom 2.
I am SO looking forward to it.
My top 5 FPSs are
5 BIoshock
4 Call of Duty Black Ops 3
3 Overwatch
2 Half Life
1 Doom 2016
Ding Chavez and Santiago Arnavisca are the real GOATS.
FACTS
Perfect Dark, Goldeneye, Halo 2, all the Medal of Honors, Fire Warrior, Timesplitters 2, the list goes on.
How did you know I played all those
Great games
Goldeneye? Perfect Dark? Riven? Quake? MoH? Any of them 😂
Haha, I did enjoy Medal of honor and Medal of Honor Underground. I haven't played any others that I recall other than Rising Sun, but it's been so long I don't remember how I felt about it.
@ my dad was big on that game for 360 F.E.A.R. and the sequel
No love for Super 3D Noah's Ark? 😂
It actually made like spot 31 lol.
You gotta play “Black”. A difficult FPS but worth a one play.
I actually have, but it was only the demo, I think it was in a PSM.
@ I think it was a PS2 title. I could be wrong. But it was awesome to play back then. Literally mowing down walls with a shotgun was so much fun. The insane asylum chapter was the best!
*sigh* you're breaking my heart here...
Please look into the following
Unreal Tournament (original, 2k3, 2k4, 3, etc)
Duke Nukem 3d
Heretic
Hexen
Nexuiz
Red Eclipse
Open Arena
(I'm going to omit the deScent series and spinoffs due to being slightly different from an FPS)
Alien Arena
Corridor 7
Tremulous
Urban Terror
And that's just a start!
I need to step-up my FPS game haha.
RTCW is such a GOATED game, still play it to this day
It really is! It can be shockingly mean though haha.
For me I would say...
Half-Life
Half-Life 2
RTCW
Duke Nukem 3D
Doom
Goldeneye 64
Halo
Crysis
Killzone 2
Joint Operations
Planetside
America's Army 2
Dayz Mod 2012-2013 specifically
Rainbow Six 3: Raven Shield
Insurgency (Source version not the crappy new Unreal one)
Bad Company 2
Left 4 Dead
Team Fortress 2
Portal 2 (not really an FPS)
Quake (software mode only)
Metro 2033
I could go on but I'm mainly a PC guy and I've never liked Halo beyond the first half of the first game. I played Halo 2 and thought it sucked.... Never played another one again.

@@Fortefyre yeah, but you mentioned like 5 or 6 other games that aren't halo, and I feel like you only went into detail on Doom.
Good point! I should fly you down here to beat Fallout 2 for me LMFAO.
@@Fortefyre hehehe
Corridor 7
I need to look into that one!
Nice list... I do am sorry as for the life of me have only played Doom and Wolfenstein on this list (never had an Xbox, but Halo is also recommended to me by my bestfriend)... Hope I can play the games on this list in the future. Thanks again!
Give Halo a shake, the first one is rough though.
Nothing had the cultural impact of Doom until GTA 3
I 100% agree on that notion.
The newer doom games are insanely cool but I got mad respect for the og doom from back in the day
It aged so well!
A fps that I rarely get to see any love thrown at was Unreal Tournament Gold on PC. I spent way too many hours exploring that game
I have played Unreal Gold, it wasn't that fun to me, but that's just my take on it.
@Fortefyre Everybodies different, I loved URG but its not for everybody
My all time favorite and still in my top 3 all around games is still Borderlands 2. I did also spend my entire college year on Halo 2
A WHOLE YEAR!?!?! Nice!
@@Fortefyre lol yes. But only actually attended classes for one of the semesters
Some of my college buddies did the math and realized they could have minored in Halo.
007, while not the best FPS, is still my favorite for all the memories it provided. Halo: Reach is still the best Halo for me, too.
I adore 007, both Agent Under Fire and Nightfire. Rogue Agent ALMOST made this list.
The first fps I ever played was a game called Quarantine where you drove a armed cab around a “ Escape to New York “ style city
You forgot Dark Forces .
To me , Doom is my favorite but I rarely play the base game .
I end up playing a number of doom mods each year and have a blast with them .
I played mods for Half Life and HL2 but I still replay the originals every few years .
I'm actually severely behind on my Star Wars franchise progress lol.
@ i understand . it only came out in 1995
😂👍

Powerslave..
That's a good one!
Under rated game that should be better known
10. Turok - Dinosaur Hunter
9. DOOM (Original)
8. Call of Duty - Black OPS II
7. Serious Sam
6. Halo 2
5. Borderlands
4. Bulletstorm
3. Borderlands 2
2. Fallout 3
1. Fallout New Vegas
(yes i added those Fallout games because they are FPS mixed with RPG, so they most definitely count!)
I haven't played anything past Fallout 2, so I look forward to it at some point.
X'er and Quake
I'm not familiar with X'er, I should check it out!
Never was a big fan of FPS games...guess the arcade game Operation Wolf, and the first Metroid Prime are my only favorites.
I would be more apt to call that a rail shooter, I should make a rail shooter episode too!
im sorry but where is half life 1 or 2 🤦♂️
I absolutely loathe Half-Life 1 lmfao. I haven't played any of the others yet.
@ hl1 is great but i do get its REALLY punishing but hl2 is a lot fairer
@@Fortefyre It's one of the best fps games ever made, that's a crazy take.
So, I think I would have loved the original release, since it's been released Valve has patched it into this abhorrent nightmare.
@@Fortefyre what do you even mean??? are you talking about the source version?? because the original goldsource version is pretty topnotch
