That ear to ear grin , so happy for you to accomplish the build and make it to Cape York and back. There's not many cars that can drive up there and back without a problem or two , cheers Geoff
Haha thanks mate. Music is a hard one, I find it really challenging to find non-copy right music that fits well, if I was able to use music that I actually like it would be a lot better! Editing, happy to take on constructive criticism. I don’t have the resources to produce a high quality polished video and would happily take on tips. Know of a low budget channel that edits well for reference?
Awesome vids mate, haha funny story I'm at a small charter flight company atm waiting for a flight lol and I look across to car park. And there's caulkes 45 ute sitting there
Best channel on the tube. Love ya work. Just noticed your oil pressure is quite low. Is the haltech calibration correct? What grade oil are you running?
Thanks Mike!! Running 5-40w! I think the Haltech calibration is correct. It is much higher on startup (60-70) but as the oil gets hot it comes down which makes sense! Yeah I’m pretty sure the calibration is correct. It’s done 12,000k and plenty of WOT and engine seems to be all good. Do you know what it’s supposed to be?
@@DesignedandBuilt yeah i think you should try a thicker oil, penrite 20w60 will help. Especially on long hot trips. You should see round 50 on the oil pressure guage even when hot. At Idle should be around 30-40. I was actually shocked at how low your guage is reading at Highway speeds. How many km on the engine when you got it? 20w50 will work too. Depends how many km on the donk.
@@DesignedandBuilt just did some research to back up my suggestions and my estimates for healthy oil pressure in the barra is about what you should see. I've got a few barra powered cars and all run 50+ oil pressure (including a 460rwkw car which gets flogged at the track and does long interstate trips - with stock pump gears and stock backing plate) when cruising. I recommend you investigate it as youll lunch the engine eventually with such low oil pressure. But start with a thicker grade oil especially with 110km on the donk. Cheers. Love the channel and your engineering expertise👍
You guys end up making it down via the creb or end up going coast way? I’m one of the fellas in the buggy’s you met at the fallen tree. Can I also say the video doesn’t do the 40 justice, very nice car mate.
Yeah great question Richard, 90-100 normally but it gets a little hot on the soft sand! Kinda locked into that same 75 series rad, hesitant to make something custom for reliability sake so might look into an external oil cooler.
@@DesignedandBuilt 90-100 is normal, if it's not boiling it's adequate you could upgrade to a copper brass radiator for more efficiency when aluminium one fails.
Hey, bro. I dig your rig man it's a beast 💪 What's the $$$ tag on that if you were to sell it.? If you were to do a total rebuild for a client like yours how much would it cost for the whole rebuild.?
@@DesignedandBuilt I'll keep that in mind and probably flick you a tx when I come up with the cash I'll pay 200k for that it's work it keep the good work up awesome 👍
