    @Berean Holiness
    Does Berean Holiness have any standards about dress and Modesty?

    Anyone can leave something. The question is, what do you replace it with?? Hillsong?? Bethel? New age? Charismania? Baptist? Reformed? Catholicism?? Hinduism? Muhammad??

      How about just following Christ instead of replacing Pentecostalism with another religious organization?
      If we replace our religious affiliations with just the gospel of Jesus Christ, we will find more liberty, joy, and peace.

      @@stephenbogan5961 And which organization wouldn't claim to be following Christ??? What does it mean to follow Christ?? Cliches are nice and sound good to simple minded people, but why can't people think 🤔 deeper than a cliche?? Everyone in Christendom will make the claim they follow Christ....that's meaningless in this discussion without clear definition of the terms. 🤷🤦 Which gospel would you recommend?? There's a plethora of them out there. 🙄 Is it liberty from sin or to sin which brings joy and peace?? Define the terms!! 🤷🤔🧐

      @infjpastortroyc5222 there is only one gospel. If it isn't in the Bible, it isn't the gospel.

    I'm looking to leave Pentecostalism. Could you please tell me what denomination Calvary Temple is? I live in Illinois but would like to look into that denomination. Oh, almost forgot to ask, "What Natalie's denomination?" Sorry if I misspelled your name. LOVE your channel. It has freed me and helped me in sooo many ways. ❤

      Hi! We actually go to nondenominational churches. When choosing a church, a few things we look for are a plurality of elders, care for the local community, outreach, emphasis on the gospel, sequential exegetical preaching, and sound doctrine.

    Perhaps there is something yet to learn? You mentioned Calvary Chapel. We cannot reject that it was God who in the early 1900’s brought a revival of the need of the The Holy Spirit and His gifts to the church. Out of that “move of God” came what you call Pentecostalism. In my understanding Jesus brought Pentecostal command and revealed Him the Holy Spirit and His gifts as seen in Acts 2.
    But looking back to history books (outside of the Bible) the Charismatic movement or Pentecostal movement was from God to stir up what God had already done that the Traditional church (fundamentalist) had gotten away from.
    Chuck Smith (Calvary Chapel) came out of the Pentecostal environment he was raised in because he felt there had been many things “added” that were not backed up in the written word of God. I too believe things have been added but the original move of God was from God, things added are from man. All moves of God including from the days of the book of Acts eventually man added and removed, by adding their own culture to interpret theologically.
    You think the Pentecostal churches you cam out of had the fundamentals of what happened in 1906 forward in operation. You are wrong. I too have come from a Pentecostal church but one that would totally disagree with the Oneness or what you call the Pentecostal Holiness church. But we did not move away from what God intended in His move of HIs Spirit at the beginning of the 20th century.
    Nick Cady and others of the Calvary Chapel movement have admitted they have had a more theological understanding of this Pentecostals move of God but not a practical implementation of it, as time has went on.
    If you are not careful you will allow the accesses of what you came out of or the conformity of what you have come into to water down the power of the Holy Spirit that is needed in this 21st century.
    The Calvary Chapel who supposedly call themselves continu-ist have addmitted that in practicality they have move toward Cessationism. God is not a Cessationist.
    In the early 1900’s as God moved in what we call Pentecostalism the Fundamentalist of the know church world began to turn to a Cessation view of 1 Corinthians 13. They changed from believe that the return of Jesus would bring the end to Prophecy, Tongues, and word of Knowledge to the Cannon of Scriptures.
    The Commentators of the Bible up to that point for the most part believed due to the context of 1 Corinthians 13 that the gifts had continued, until Jesus comes back, yet they were not practicing and flowing in them. So the Fundamentalist in their false fervor came up with the lie that that gifts has ceased after the Canon of Scriptures were complete or after the last Apostle of Jesus had died.
    Today the devil is still trying to either remove the truth or at least water it down to where you say you believe in the active Gifts of God yet you do not walk in them.
    Tongues is more than what you read in 1 Corinthians 12, if you are living what the scripture teaches about Tongues.
    Perhaps reading the Bible more, way more often, is more important than reading books about the Bible. And perhaps crucifying the desires of the flesh and allowing the Holy Spirit to lead, not fighting against false beliefs of your past, will help for correct interpretation of God’s word for the present.
    The move of God that came in the 1900’s is still relevant today. It was a reviving of what God had already written and the Apostles practiced. Not all experiences of the Apostles nor Jesus were recorded, but what is Cannonized is our guide. It is actually spirit, life, and truth.

    I love when people criticize things that they don’t understand .Dressing in a conservative way is not for you, it’s for a witness to others .If you look like the world , act like the world , talk like the world what witness are you ? This is typical of Christians who want to do their own thing , dress their own way .
    But I’ve NEVER heard ANY preacher , or anyone in a church saying “ you can’t dress like that “. I wore sweats and hoodies to church for months , no one said a peep .Then I felt the Lord pulling me to not look like a slovenly bum .

    • @shay-car
      @shay-car ปีที่แล้ว

      Really interesting you would ascribe that belief to Natalie, who is clearly dressed in a modest way that even "holiness standards" would approve. She clearly isn't criticizing the movement because she wants to "dress her own way."

    • @uriahpeep9008
      @uriahpeep9008 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have no problem with one dressing/appearing modest so as not to bring reproach on the name of Christ. But, here is the actual outworking of that custom as it relates to the holiness church in the present day. The "look" is the thing that these churches are going for.....in other, words, they are LOOKING for a symbol that they use to set themselves apart from all others who do NOT practice this rule or even do not have any understanding of what it is. This symbol is then "deified" in their own minds.....to put it more clearly, in their own minds, they are literally worshipping this symbol and many even put so much importance on this idea, that they LITERALLY lose track of the actual Christian teachings or even the personage of Jesus the Christ. So, how do you prove this point? It is proven when you find in these churches that the teaching is almost 100% related to this symbol while EXCLUDING the entire remainder of Christian teaching. When such an imbalance is allowed to manifest, those churches are no better than pagans....they are NO LONGER Christian in any respect.
