i was never a huge taylor fan cause i always assumed she made cheesy pop music with no depth. but once i started listening to her lyricism it blew my mind. her lyrics and storytelling are so incredible.

with pop music you have to make the melodies and rhythms matching together so sometimes it happens, you can see on another artists too not just Taylor but she was based on country music which been drafting her in song storytelling already. she used alot of metaphors and symbols in her pop music. with this kind of alternative she did a lot of poetry that's she been done

I love watching the journey of new TS listeners. She has so much depth. Keep going. She will win u over, I'm sure. She is also very much a progressive political/social justice figure.

Most first-time listeners of Taylor NEVER make such an accurate analysis of her songs. Keep going with Taylor--the journey is worth it.

Fun fact: this song was written by her and her boyfriend, Which if you consider the fact that they are happy, it’s kinda funny

They speak a different love language so even though they love each other, they don’t know how to love each other

Taylor has been a storyteller since her very first album but people that are not big fans only hear the singles on the radio..you are doing great on figuring out what she is singing about..let’s see if you can figure out the song IVY 🧐😊💜

Killed it! He never saw the signs!!! She left through the side door! This song is 🔥. Taylor is a storyteller. You have to listen to the lyrics. Sounds stupid but it’s a lot like rap, gotta pay attention and analyze the lyrics, sometimes hafta play it back. Loving your content. Someone suggested IVY, yes, it’s like a poem or a more storytelling song is called Tis the Damn Season. Both are good, ones a poem ones more of a story.

Yes Taylor has been always a genius storyteller since the beginning. Even the big pop songs.

Binge watching your Taylor content rn 😂 I think you described her songwriting perfectly. She’s a storyteller expert in something so universal, love & heartbreak.

Excellent analysis! Taylor has always been the greatest storyteller of a generation, its just that her #1 hits tend to be her more fun pop songs, not necessarily the deep ones, although even her pop hits have deep meanings if you dig into them. Fun fact: Her boyfriend Joe actually started writing the (male) chorus on the piano during quarantine and they finished the song together. They both love sad songs and are both fans of Bon Iver, so they asked him to sing Joe's part on the album.

You should react to “no body, no crime” and “the last great American dynasty”, her two songs of pure story telling. And also “All Too Well(10 min version)”, it's her best written song of all time. There is also a love triangle story in her albumn “folklore”, “cardigan” “august” “betty” are from three different perspectives of the three characters. For political song, you should check out “Only the Young” and “Miss Americana & Heartbreak Prince”, her documentary “Miss Americana” may help you understand what she's trying to say. Very expect you to react to these.

Taylor admitted that she's on the privileged side so that explains why she writes a lot of love conflicts because that's what she could relate and understand the most. Now that she's grown and be more aware of the world, she writes more about mental health, politics, women empowerment, even added men's perspective into her writing... all while sometimes linked to love stories, the thing she's best known for.

It's interesting to listen the songs who weren't singles, that's the better way to discover an artist. Great reaction, thank you for taking the time to listen Taylor's music 🙂 If you wanna learn more about Taylor herself I recommend you to watch Miss Americana (it's on netflix) and to watch some of her live performances (because she's great and she sometimes change things on some song)! I am going to watch your other reaction about Taylor!

Taylor does have a political song, it is called "Only the Young" it is not on any of her albums, she did it about 2 years ago.

I've loved this song for a while because of the lyrics and it's hella nice to see someone else appreciating them. Please react to "Shape Of My Heart" by Sting- the word play on the chorus with the suits of a pack of cards gets me every time

Btw, she does actually have many songs about world issues, they just aren't usually her big radio hits. I would check out Only the Young, You Need To Calm Down & check out her Friend Todrick Hall's songs Water Guns feat Jordan Sparks & Painting in the Rain-all amazing songs that really make you think about what's going on in our world right now!
