@@zervver Thanks for letting us know about this. I don't think Crucifix Held Close is based on that song though. Those passages are similiar but it's because the style is similiar, not because one author wanted to compose something based on something else.
This level had some paranormal activity: the ghost in the bathroom, the other ghost in the piano room, the bloody handprints, the stairs that moved on their own, the skeleton that suddendly had flesh after reentering the room.
Dude, I remember me playing Portrait Of Ruin. And this music, along with Iron Blue Intention, was one of the musics I could remember almost perfectly, and when I searched for those on TH-cam, it became crystal clear for my ears : I already heard this before and this was excellent.
I was listening to this song the other day and realized that the title can be interpreted in two ways. I always envisioned a crucifix held by someone else against a vampire, or some other unholy abomination, as in, the crucifix is held close to the enemy, and they're in danger. Or, you could interpret it as holding a crucifix near and dear to you, praying for the best-- because you are the one in danger. I just thought it was really neat since I had never thought of it like that before, especially because I feel like the music totally works from each perspective, and gives a sort of different vibe depending on how you view it.
I just love how it starts. Reminds me of some 90's music somehow :/ I used to go all the way this stage just to hear the music... then grew bored and returned to the castle XD!
@@aloksinghbbk No. Michiru Yamane does. He's talking about this version which is based on what MY did but for the DS. Norikazu Miura is the one who did the DS version.
The theme of Minotaur grinding. Also, really ironic that the hardest encounter in the Nest of Evil is not any of the bosses you fight there, but the room with two Creatures (this painting's boss).

Shock thing you didn't know: This almost sounds exactly like Cammy's theme from "X-men vs Street Fighter" but slightly remixed. Didn't anyone noticed that?
Not quite the same without the sound of rain and thunder in the background oof I am getting goosebumps! Love this song!
there must be a version somewhere with the rain and thunder effects
@@VindAvSorg Not from what I can tell.

The first time i played this level, my jaw dropped when i realized it was from Haunted castle.
+Elmas Chiludo Michiru Yamane right in your face
My jaw dropped when I realized this track is based off a song from Yngwie Malmsteen.
@@zervver which one ?

Japanise horror stuff maybe?
Made this area even more awesome with those details
@@Bora_slash It actually is. ALL of them are common Japanese school horror stories material.
It’s like the whole “seven mysteries of the school!” kinda spooky legend.
I most definitely woulda held my crucifix close in this area. If I was there fr.
(My apologies)
WE MAKING IT OUT OF THE DARK ACADEMY WITH THIS ONE 🗣️🗣️🗣️‼️‼️‼️🔥🔥🔥
Please, Konami, the DS Castlevania trilogy needs a remake. Even a Switch HD remaster is fine
There are so many castlevania games that needs a remaster for the actual gen consoles.
I'm hoping we get an Aria duology HD
And a physical copy of the game for switch would be nice.
Not a remake but a Castlevania DS Collection for Switch/PS/XBOX/PC.
Oh thoust must not wait long for the making of that wish!

You are the Castlevanian version of a Stan Lee cameo whenever I search Castlevania related things on youtube haha!

This is from haunted castle
My favourite Castlevania after SOTN and ROB

that's even more obvious when you consider its other title : "cross your heart"
I never thought about it that way. That's incredible. It adds a whole new later to an already amazing song.
I prefer to throw my crucifix at my enemy's like a absolute madman :)
honestly, i think its both at the same time, in that stella and loretta are both your enemy and the ones youre trying to save
Of the DS trilogy, Portrait was my fave, so I’m definitely stoked to play it again in the Dominus Collection.
OMG! This was the track for the first stage of Haunted Castle xD
Nothing beats Castlevania :)
Yup
Ys, Sorcerian, Trails Series and Bloodstained: Ritual of The Night if you like Yuzo Koshiro and/or Michiru Yamane

Besides that it is already a remixed song
i like the part when it goes dun xD

One of the better soudntrack's of the history of Castlevania man :3
Haunted Castle anyone? xD

“Cross your heart”

A minha também sem contar que a chuva de fundo deixa tudo melhor ainda
Favorite of the second-tier levels by far. This music is why.
More than 10 years later, I still remember the ghost in the toilet...
This is the graveyard level theme from ''Haunted Castle'' isn't it?
Yep
1:35 really reminds me of follower of darkness from curse of darkness.. =D
Hahaha wow, it really does!!! xD
and that moment in that Song is a darker version of Heart of Fire
You know why your here
Hell yeah

Was so hyped when I heard Devil's Revival earlier in PoR (as Victorian Fear)... and then this. Kudos to you, Konami.
Wait! Victorian Fear was a remix of Devil's Revival from Haunted Castle? O_o

So I've heard.
Ahhhh...nostalgia...

this is giving me reminders of how bad haunted castle but it compensates with this music
And to think, before reappearing in this game this theme was also in Rondo Of Blood.
